As it was already pretty late in the evening and we were both pretty full, neither of us was in the mood for coffee and just wanted a small snack. There weren't that many options left, of course, as it was late, so, along with a 3.95 CAD Heartwood Farm & Cidery organic sour cherry drink, I ordered a Banana Caramel Cookie, and the friendly cashier there added a second one for free. Aside from being a very kind gesture, I presume the place was closing soon. The cookie was maybe 2.50 CAD, if I recall correctly, and it was good. I was slightly worried that it would be too sweet, but the caramel flavor wasn't super strong, and there was a good mixture of that and a light banana flavor. It was also surprisingly not too dry for how late it was. Overall, it was tasty, and the drink was also good.

The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

I have tried signature cheese bun, sweet potato charcoaled cheese bun, lychee and chocolate puffs. In general, the cheese is semi-liquid and tastes a bit sour, making me think it is sour cream rather than cream cheese. The buns are freshly soft and fluffy, a typical feature of most Asian buns. Yes, I said "Asian". From the moment I entered the store, I was instantly convinced by the atmosphere that this was an Asian bakery shop instead of a Western one. Maybe the brand originated from Austria. Everything from the store setting, the texture and taste of the buns, and the available flavours, is definitely Asian! That they also have Asian flavoured drinks furthers confirms that. As already noted above, the buns are very fresh and soft. If you like soft buns, this is a place for you. If you like Asian or fusion Asian taste (Mango, Lychee, Matcha, etc.), this is a also a pale for you. If you are just a person who is always looking for something novel or exotic, this is, again, a place for you. The price is OK, actually a bit cheaper (in my opinion and experience) than many other fancy Asian food and drink shops that emerged recently. read more

I walked by the location today and saw people line up in the store. Attracted by the aroma of the bread, I decided to give it a try. Apparently it was their soft opening today and everything was 20% off. I wanted to try to original cheese bun but it was sold out, the cashier told me to come by earlier next time since it does sell out quite fast. So, I ended up getting the mango cheese bun which costed me $5.87 after tax with the discount. The portion is quite large and I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Personally I enjoyed the rich taste of the cream cheese and to my surprise there are actual mango chunks in the bun! Overall, I think the price point is appropriate for the quality and the size of the bun. This is quite a unique dessert item and I definitely recommend you guys to try it out! read more

The cheese buns and creampuffs here are both delicious. Its unique and is pleasing to the eye. I don't understand why people think a 6 dollar bun and a 2 dollar puff is expensive. It is literally so much cheaper than other viral food available at the moment. Compare this to $10+ ice creams, shakes and $6+ bubble tea that's literally tap water, tea and milk powder. Consider other bakeries who have similar items, the pastries are all made from central kitchens, frozen and then shipped to the stores to be warmed up and sold again. The pastries here are all made fresh in store, being made as they are sold. Even if it is a little more, I am willing to pay for quality instead of cheap & frozen factory made goods. read more
