This restaurant can't keep up with telephone orders for pickup. Sunday I called in a family order after church at 12:30. I was told to wait between 25 and 30 minutes for preparation. They also asked me what type and color of vehicle I would be in. I pulled in front of their restaurant at 12:30. I waited 30 minutes with no meal or contact from anyone so I called the restaurant again. 10 minutes after that call, a young man came out to my vehicle to tell me they had no order for my type of vehicle. I have liked the food at other locations, but I tried three different ways to get to this restaurant only to be blocked. You cannot be reached directly from the feeder road from Main Street, or like coming westbound past Nebraska furniture Mart unless you know where to turn in. If you turn too soon, you'll end up being forced to circle a mile or more around the whole property. A simple curb cut from the entrance to the garage for the furniture Mart would have solved this. Contacted Cheddars on the phone at 12:30 with an order for carry out. Was told to pickup the meal in 25 to 30 minutes. Arrived at 1:00 pm and sat in the parking lot for thirty minutes. Finally I called the restaurant and asked if I was supposed to let them know I had arrived. No need, I was told. They asked what kind of vehicle I was in. (I had given them my vehicle description over the phone when ordered). 10 minutes later a young man walked out to my car and told me they had no order for my vehicle type. Went there to eat after shopping at Nebraska Furniture next door and we arrived at 4:10pm on a Thursday afternoon. There were about 10-12 tables seated. The hostesses looked bored and they took us to a table that was still being cleaned and we had to stand and wait. There were so many tables open. So we sat and waited and waited and no one came to greet us. We got up and left. We told the hostess and she gave us the General Managers name of Kent but he was not working. Let's start when we walked in. We were greeted fairly quick and sat just as fast. This is where the good stuff stopped. Our Server was nice as well. My wife an I ordered drinks and the kids had sprite. I had the pina colada and it felt like I was drinking syrup through a straw. It was not good. My wife's drink was ok. We waited 45 minutes before our food was served! I had the meatloaf and my wife had the Cajun pasta. My meatloaf looked like it had been baking under a heat lamp for a while. Just tried to go to cheddars in the colony. We were a party of two. My fiancé went in to see if there was a wait and was told no and that we had a table. When we went back in the person who said we had a table was gone but we were told by the hostess just to go down the aisle and then take a left where they would be a series of this open and available. We did exactly as instructed and said down in a row at empty booths. We waited about five minutes until somebody finally came and asked us about the fact that we had no drinks or menus. They explain the situation and they immediately brought our menus and drinks. Meanwhile the five booths behind us filled up but nobody came to take our order. After they took the order of the table behind us, they came to our table and told us that we would have to move because there was no server available for our table. This was complete man sense as the table behind us had just been waited on even though they arrived after we dead. After having such shabby service we decided to leave and as we told them we will not be back. Frankly, in my opinion there food is not that great and it certainly does not justify the service which is extremely lacking. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to go as there are many of them in the area. There are not any cheaper than anybody else but that type of service cannot be supported. Well walking in most of the cheddar's have the huge fan which is always pretty cool but this one was different. Nice decor inside but as much as I liked the layout wish they took care of the eating area better. Their might have been a total of 4 tables there as it was about 3:25 when I walked in so not busy. The waiter seemed nice as we knew what we wanted straight off ordered 2 drinks and food. The food took a out 33 minutes to come out to us...really? The one near frys electronics in Irving it's always been in front of us on a busy day in less then 10-15 max. We got here at 6:45 had to wait an hour for a table. We were a party of 10 on a Saturday night, so I guess that's understandable. But the service was terrible. Our drinks were always empty, two of our steaks were way overcooked, and when they finally came out correctly everyone was already done eating. We ended up cancelling desserts because who knows what fiasco that would have been. Also, all of the tickets were wrong. This had to be corrected several times. We ended up leaving at 10:20 and had to cancel other plans because we had to wait three hours to finish a meal. The manager didn't even apologize. Never going back and I recommend you not try it. My wife and I went here last night for dinner. Place was almost empty so we figured we could get in and out pretty quick. We ordered an appetizer, onion rings. We told our waiter, Mitchell, that we will order our meal after we got their onion rings. After waiting a few minutes we still have not gotten our appetizer so we told him we would go ahead order a meal in anticipation of receiving our appetizers soon. As others have stated the To-Go service needs a serious makeover. The bar just can't handle making drinks, serving customers, and getting To-Go orders. It is very frustrating when you call ahead and see your order sitting there while they are doing everything but getting you your food. Then they pack it, but wait we are missing this and that.... takes another 10 minutes to get a salad from the kitchen. In this day and age how do they not have a separate To-Go counter... Had a very bad experience at your location in The Colony Texas. I took a bite out of the chicken pot pie I ordered and found myself chewing a 4" long piece from a steel wool scrubbing pad. The manager apologized but I feel she could have done more. No one could finish their meal after this. Extremely disgusting. In addition, the appetizer of Spinach Dip came out lukewarm as if it had been sitting for awhile and the ceasar salad was very soggy. One star. Worst experience at a Cheddar's ever. I have eaten at other locations numerous times! And have also dined at this one before and the burger came out hot and very tasty! Start off with the queso. Cold. Chips-did the lid fall off of the salt shaker? Cheese curds- salty as hell! So obviously the prep people are super fans of salt! Meal- I ordered the sirloin and fried shrimp, baked potato loaded, Mac n cheese-yes, loading up on carbs! Steak-cold. Shrimp-cold. Mac n cheese-cold. Baked potato- didn't even melt the butter or cheese! That is how cold it was. So, boxed most of it up so I can microwave it at home myself and moved on to the Cookie Monster. Cookie monsters used to come out hot with the chocolate chips melted. Not this time. So is the oven broke? Cooks don't know how to cook? I don't know. But for sure know they need help! So my conclusion is poor leadership and staff that showed little care. Will I done here again? Doubt it. Cheddar's-get your crap together. More establishments are coming to your area and would hate to see yours have to close. read more

She was there on the spot by volunteer ing to assist us when our son spilt water. Our normal server just kept saying she would get to it but Vanessa took initative and did and excellent job. Cheddar's is one of my favorite restaurants, when done right. Unfortunately, the last few times I've been to this location the service is always horrible and just seems lost and confused. Today, we decided to give it another shot since we've stayed away for a few months and all seemed great until we got seated. Our server greeted us quickly but that seemed to be about the only quick thing about her. We ordered drinks which finally came after we had finished the appetizer (lukewarm queso). She forgot the limes for my club soda, the bourbon sauce for my food, and that wasn't even the worst thing. My boyfriend ordered the salmon and hand battered fried shrimp which she specified when taking the order. When the food came out, no shrimp instead our plates were full of cold food. Asked her about the shrimp she said they were working on it and that it'll be nice and fresh, thinking it would be nice and hot out the fryer. Nope, when it finally came out after we were done eating she came with grilled shrimp. After that we hurried out of there regretting our decision to try it again. FYI this is the only place I've ever been to that charges $2.49 for soda water which is dumb as hell. read more

Terrible experience. Our food was brought out at different times. My steak and shrimp was cold as if it came out of the fridge. I ordered sautéed mushrooms on top of my steak so when it came out 20mins after others got their food, I sent it back. The waiter said they would make a whole new one. They brought it back and it was hot but once again, no sautéed mushrooms. I sent it back for the second time. It came back with mushrooms but with more than just that. It had a hair (pictured) and a bloodstream in my "medium" steak. I couldn't even cut through the steak without working hard for it. I am swearing off Cheddars altogether. Tonight I waited almost 5 mins until my phone call was answered, only to be put on hold (transferred to bartender I assume) and put on hold for another 5 minutes. This was long enough for me to hang up and realize you dont value me as a customer. If you're under staffed, fine. Maybe you need more people that can handle to go orders. Great food and decent service. There is always a wait (which is to be expected) but the wait area is very small so people are forced to stand around the entrance. This makes the entrance VERY crowded and it is difficult to enter and exit/maneuver around. Kind of kills your mood before you even get to eat. read more
