Father's Day visit. A loud shout-out to the crew at Cheddars in The Colony! The waitress was on top of everything, the drinks were delicious, the food was cooked just right, nothing missed/forgotten/undercooked. Flawless! The food was super fresh. The Presidente Sangria was amazing and refreshing, as was the Peach cocktail. The hot fudge cake sundae was the perfect temperature and consistency. Very clean! Very nice! The worst service I've ever experienced. Never came and checked about refills. Ordered fish and chips and a cheese burger. The bun was burnt and the hamburger patty was burnt. Looked on our receipt and the burger was ordered well done but we were never asked.They brought out chicken fingers with tarter sauce instead of fish. Asked for manager and have been waiting over 5 min, finally got a manager and he was apologetic and comp'd the meal but not worth all the hassle. read more

My husband has never tried this place so we thought we'd give it a try on a day it may not be too busy or crowded. Around lunchtime today we arrived to the front host counter. A young man rushed up to that front counter from the back in a panic and we mistakenly thought he was the host so we greeted him and he didn't even look up. He checked what he had to on that desk and headed straight to the back again without glancing up or making eye contact once. Now I work in customer service so I completely understand being off, in a hurry, or even in an area that is not your assigned station, but a little recognition goes a long way to make a customer feel like they've been acknowledged. Fast forward to a few moments later as the actual hostess swings around the corner with a huge smile on her face and were seated immediately. We're given menus at this point and seated in an area close to the bar. I look up and as luck would have it, the guy with zero eye contact is our waiter. I'm already thinking greaaaaaat but I shake it off. I notice we're seated next to a table with 3 young men who had constant contact with our waiter; I'm talking 5-6 minute conversations versus other tables at 1-2 minutes. We order drinks, an appetizer,food and already tell he knows the table next to us based on the time spent with us. The entire time you could tell he wasn't focused on other tables. Every time he left the kitchen he'd shoot straight to his table of friends have a quick convo and maybe check on his others. He nurtured their orders by letting them taste their drinks/food to make sure it was okay. Meanwhile he dropped our drinks off and mumbled that he'd check on our queso (we ordered spinach dip). Then he brought our spinach dip out without any conversation and finally brought our food and placed it next to the empty spinach dish he didn't take away.. He mumbles "how does everything look" before he even places the dishes down and scurries away without even waiting for an answer; you could definitely tell he was just going through the motions. He's now back at his favorite table and my husband and I automatically know our food's been sitting out as everything was cold. It was tasty but you could definitely tell he wasn't focused considering the complaint I overheard from the table behind us and the fact a manager was sent to that friendly table to ask a few questions. So, I'm sure the food is great when it's hot, the drinks were strong, and wasn't completely busy. The waiter was the main reason I couldn't give all five stars. My family and I came to this place for my birthday to change things up a bit. We always frequent the same places when we go out to eat and it's often because my kids are so picky. If mac and cheese isn't on the menu I can guarantee my youngest stages a protest. I've been to Cheddar's before, although not in a very loooong time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the visit. They have a variety of choices on the menu (you should really be able to find something for everyone) and a great drink list. I immediately told my fiancee we needed to come back for happy hour. We both decided to order the Painkiller which is limited to 2 per person. He and I are usually very disappointed in the amount of alcohol given in a drink but this had just the right amount and probably more than enough for the average person. Overall, the visit was a nice one, no real complaints. I gave it 4 stars because I just wasn't overwhelmed with the food and service. It was good enough, but not something that stands out in my mind as an experience I'll rave about. read more

The New Orleans Pasta was BLAND! Awful, I mean No Sauce, The Sausage was undercooked as was the EFFIN SHRIMP (An absolute NO) and the chicken pieces were BURNT! The Vegetable Plate had THREE orders of Broccoli Cheese Casserole & ALL 3 were COLD, Not Seasoned & FULL of Broccoli?! Some Rice & Cheese would have been nice ya' know! The French fries were stale, brown & had a funky taste & the Croissant was Old... not fresh at all! This location REALLY has to step it up! There are too many businesses around the area to be a complete FAIL. People pay their money to have a great meal, great service & to keep you all IN BUSINESS. This location was great from the staff to the food to the drinks. You get free rolls to start off and they are absolutely delicious. The strawberry margarita swirl was cheap and tasty. I saw the reviews on this place and was surprised. I had it once before at a different location and didn't remember it being awful. I was intrigued to go and see if it was as bad as people said. We came in on Tuesday evening about 6 after walking around at Nebraska Furniture Mart. We were seated immediately, restaurant was about 20% full. A server found us at our table within 3 minutes. I would give him an 8/10. He only briefly forgot my wife's unsweet tea after her request. He apologized and rushed to get it. We also ordered chips and queso , which I would rate as average. For an entree I ordered the monte cristo which was actually one of the best I have ever had. Overall I am extremely surprised to give this place 5 stars, and that is mostly because the level of service(average) and the food quality(relatively good) far exceed the price (really low) read more

I had a burger, fries, and a beer. The venue Super nice inside. The finishing is spectacular. Everything feels first class. Even the music volume in the bathrooms was just right. This place is built for volume and you can tell. It kind of reminds me of a burger / sandwich / homestyle / focused Cheesecake Factory. This is a good thing. I like me some Cheesecake Factory. The Service Well, this part was not so great. The server was pleasant. However, we were sat in a corner table and I think she forgot about us a few times. You can almost always get two beers out of me but she never even asked. Also, she forgot to bring me the french fries. I got her attention and finally got the fries and also asked for some yellow mustard. I was nearly finished with the burger when she finally got back to us with the mustard. The Food My burger was super good, mustard or not. The fries, once i got them, were hot and delicious. Summary I would go back in a second. I think we showed up at an odd time ~ 3PM. Which is often a shift change. I think we got unlucky on the service. The food was a hit across the board. My mom had a club and potato soup. It was also good. I am giving it 4 stars. This is a very mixed review. I have eaten at this particular location several times will various results. My review is an average based on all visits, with today's being the worse visit. In general, the food is very good and you get plenty of food for the value. I almost always have leftovers to take home. Today's experience however was vastly different. I went with my family because I really wanted the half rack of ribs and grilled shrimp combo. We all places our orders, about the time we would usually receive our meal the waitress came out to tell me that she was just informed the ribs weren't available. Seems the morning person forgot to start them (takes 6 hours to smoke them). The rest of the food ordered was ready to be served. We should have left at this point, however I ordered a hamburger instead. The server (zero issues with her) informed me that the manager would comp my burger. Imaging my surprise when the burger that came out looked like the size one gets on the kids menu. During all this, the manager never came out. I asked my server about it, she said the manager on duty didn't like talking to unhappy customers. I think that manager needs to be replaced. I will continue to dine at this restaurant, however not at this location. I had a call from Kevin, the GM of this location. He invited me back and asked to have another chance to earn my business. It's cheap which is one thing I will give to the restaurant. I remember the last time I was there the waiter told me he forgot to put my order in 20 minutes after I placed the order. It took another 15 for me to get my food. Another time they rushed me into ordering my food saying kitchen is about to close and it was like 8:30. You'd think the food would be there fast but no it came 40 minutes later. I keep going back because of the convenience but wouldn't recommend this place and try to avoid this place as much as possible. A-OK. Mixed bag - some good, some okay, some meh. We've only done takeout from this location. My wife and her mom really dig the buffalo chicken wrap. It's pretty sizable - they share it and both didn't finish theirs this last time. My wife's dad got the chicken tenders and said they were pretty good - but far from the best he'd had. I had trouble deciding so I made the chicken nachos appetizer into a meal. They were good, but I spat out 3 bites that had notable gristle in them. Gross. Otherwise they would have been very good to excellent. Pickup was far from ideal. We called in our order and it was ready when they said it'd be. But we were directed to the bar for actual food pickup and payment. The bar was busy, so I hardly fault them for it being a cluster. They should have a better system for to-go orders... maybe just have the food up front with the host or something. The bar is not a good area for pickup - period. Again, I don't blame the bar for this. If they're busy, they should be bartending and serving, not handling takeout orders. So all in all, A-OK. Food was good. Timeliness was great and appreciated.
