I work at a local business in the Smyrna area and we were looking to buy some lunch. When I called over here and asked for the manager a gentleman came to the phone. He had a Spanish voice and said he was the kitchen manager. I told him we wanted to buy a bunch of food for 15 guys. He immediately responded with "we don't sell anything like that, we don't have platters here." I told him we were just looking for some type of food for a group of people and asked for ideas. He responded by telling me they don't do anything like that. I asked him over and over if he was a manager because he seemed very clueless at his job. He seemed like he had never been in customer service in his life. I asked him if he had any deals if I bought for a group and he told me that their prices are what they are and nothing can be changed. I still don't believe this guy was a manger because he shouldn't be. I called a different restaurant and got perfect service very quickly with a deal and had my food ready in an hour. read more

Please get this location some help! I had dinner here tonight and I was very disappointed! The place was dirty. There were 4 tables that hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. tried over and over to place a to go order and each time - ISSUES!. waited forever for bar to pick up phone. when they did, i ordered an item and asked for no sausage - seemed like a simple request for a place that says everything is made from scratch. asnwer was no. sauce is pre-made. asked for a suggestion and bartender wasnt helpful. said i would call back after looking at menu online again. back in queue. waited forever on hold for bar, no one came to phone. hung up. called back. waited again. finally bar picked up. asked for an item on menu and was told that they didnt carry it at that location bc they are a franchise. solo how am i supposed to order from your website if it's not applicable to your location? guy was nooo help. ended up going to a spot down the street from them. failure. i will admit - their in person service is good. but for to go, i always have issues. read more

I heard alot about Cheddars, and it lived up to those expectations, we went mid week no wait for a table, I had the chicken pot pie and coffee( It was the best coffee ever) and the price was right. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. Its was relaxing wish there was one in Clarksville. read more

Possibly the best value to dollar chain restaurant around. Great meals in the $10.00 range. Nice menu from burgers to chicken, ribs, steaks and veggies. All very tasteful. The only complaint I've got is their bread is just a piece of Texas toast. Clean and staff very is always there when needed and friendly. read more

The food here is always great! The portion sizes are fantastic for the price you pay. I always have an extra meal. We prefer this location to the Murfreesboro location. The service just seems to be better. The queso or onion rings are great starters. The tilapia with mango salsa or buffalo wrap are both my two "go to" items. My fiance and I ate here for his birthday/weekend away. The atmosphere was nice and we were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and polite. We both ordered alcoholic beverages, he had a margarita and I had what I believe to be called a "Cheddar's Pain Killer" or something along those lines. It was fantastic! There is a limit on how many you can have i think it's 2 per customer. We were carded of course but he did have to talk to his manager before he could order our drinks because our I.D.'s were out of state. Which wasn't a big deal. We ordered an appetizer, nachos with chicken or something. They were very good! Now here's where things went down hill. For our entree we both ordered salads, steaks cooked rare, with other sides I forget what exactly. Now for his steak he requested that it wasn't served on a bed of "onion straws" and I ordered mine with sauteed mushrooms. It took our meal a little while to make it to us. When we were served, the manager served us. We didn't receive our salads and his steak was severed on a bed of onion straws and mine didn't have any mushrooms. I told the manager that we were missing salads and the other things that were wrong. He brought us our salads and brought me a cup of sauteed mushrooms. My fiance scraped the onion straws out from under his steak. I honestly feel that if our waiter was the one who was bringing us the food that there would've been no mix up at all. The steak was ok. Not much flavor. and the salad wasn't anything special. I was very disappointed. I've eaten at Cheddar's before and it was wonderful. My fiance had never eaten at Cheddar's and was excited to try it. . We were able to enjoy each others company with out having to constantly tend to our 3 young children, it was a nice break. Just wish the food had been a little better. But hey at least the drinks were good right? read more

I loved Cheddars at first and went back numberous times taking many family members but I was a victim of theft by an employee. She added a $20.00 tip to my bill. I called the management and they promised that they would take care of it. It has been three weeks and the issue has not been resolved. I am sixty years old and this sort of thing has NEVER happened to me. I now have to check and double check all my tickets because of a Cheddars employee. We tried Cheddar's, though the food taste ok, the food was very greasy... Oil was dripping of Grilled fish, I couldn't finish it... I couldn't locate their Nutrition information anywhere on the web, Manager doesn't know either... They are hiding the fat percentage of their food... Be aware! read more

Over seasoned CRAP! Hard to taste the food from being drowned in seasoning...kinda like the way Doritos are made of corn, but you can't actually taste the corn through all the unnaturally flavored stuff. You can get better frozen chicken pot pies from a store. Got a FLAT beer also, which means dirty keg lines or detergent residue on the glass. WTF? Tried them twice, sucked twice. They are always busy because the average American palate is conditioned to thinking it's ok for food to taste like this and can be fooled by cheap, fancy looking decor. We had family in town for reunion, one day we decided on Cheddar's and arrived around noon and were given back room due to there being 16 of us. service was good but, before leaving one of our quest ran to restroom she came back very flush saying that the food didn't agree with her and that she had vomited. on the way back to our house one of the children driving in another car had also vomited. Through out the night a few more became ill including myself with diarrhea and vomiting and fever lasting three days for the majority of us. Seven of us became ill, all that ate chicken. I went to many restaurants in Smyrna and I love this place, one of my favorites. I love thier sandwich, it's so delicious. The service is excellent and the price is reasonable. You may have to wait, but not long, even on the weekend. read more

Service was really bad! We all know Cheddar's does not take reservations nor can you call ahead. After waiting for 35-40 minutes, they tried to seat 6 adults at a booth while the table for 8 was reserved with menus for another party that was not there yet. We thought the table was for us until the waitress bypass it. Then we asked the waitress if we could sit at the table instead and she replied "I'm sorry but the table is reserved for another party." She then went to get the manager, Matt who says "I can sit you in the booth but this table is for another party." I asked "where is the other party?" He then said "the other party was here before you". "I can sit you at the booth or you can wait 35-40 minutes for a table." Really? After waiting for 35-40 minutes already. Now, my question is, "if the other party was before me, why were they not seated before me?" I'm pretty sure the manager showed favoritism and reserved this table for his family or friends. read more

My husband and I visited the Cheddar's restaurant in Smyrna for the first time last evening (12/9/11). Our wait was approximately 20 minutes. About 5 minutes after we were seated in a booth, the young hostess with long dark hair came to us and asked us to move to another location to accomodate a larger group. Very reluctantly we agreed. I could see our former booth from where they moved us, and probably 5 minutes after the people were seated, they got up and left or moved somewhere else. I verbalized to the hostess my displeasure in being moved and this was poor customer service. I also told her that we would not come back to Cheddar's and I would tell my friends what poor table and seating management this restaurant has. She said she would let the manager know. We kept waiting to see the manager but he/she never came to our booth. The only pleasant part of our experience was our waiter, Rhyan Austin. He did a very good job. read more

Cheddars is a very well-known restaurant. The founders Aubrey Good and Doug Rogers started cheddars in 1979 in Arlington, Texas. Their goal was to make a traditional, handmade, high quality food at a reasonable price. According to cheddars website as of 2013 there is 135 restaurants around the world. My first experience at cheddars was in Smyrna TN. My first time going there was an awesome experience. It is a very clean and well kept up place to eat. When you look at it you will think that it is a very expensive place, but when you actually go and eat there you will see that it's not. When I got there I always get the chicken tender platter. The platter includes 6 big chicken tenders and a side full of fries. It is always so much food, that I never tend to eat it all and it only cost $9. Then if you want it buffalo style, you can also get it that way and don't even have to pay extra. The food comes out quickly; you never have to wait a long time to get your food after you order it. Then when you do get it, it be fresh you can tell that it was just made and not just a plate of food that was sitting on the counter. They never mess up your order, they are always clear and concise about what exactly it is that you want. My waiter or waitress was very nice and they made sure that they made us happy. Anything that we wanted or needed they made sure that they got it for in a timely manner. I never had to get upset or ask to see their manger when I have attended cheddars to eat. This is a great restaurant that offers great food and great hospitality. Also when you go to cheddars they give you a free chips and salsa to hold you over until your meal comes out. Every time I go to cheddars it is always so packed, but yet I have never waited longer than 10 minutes to get seated. For my 19th birthday I had my birthday dinner there and it was about 15 of us all together, and even though they were packed as always we got a table within 10 minutes of just waiting. That really surprised me cause I thought that we was go be waiting forever to get a table. The waitress that they gave us was son wonderful, she made sure she kept our drinks filled and made sure that she came and checked up on us every couple of minutes. We never had to sit and wait for anything we needed weather it was napkins or a drink. Then she also gave me a free hot fudge sundae, which I couldn't even eat all of it because it was so much. They also told me that they didn't sing happy birthday to nobody, but they did it just for me. It really made me feel special. They have these croissants that they put honey butter spread over, they are to die for. They are so good I get them every time I go, even if it don't come with my order I pay extra for them just because they are that good. When I think of cheddars I think of a very high end place, only its cheaper than your normally high end place. Cheddars is a great place to go too if you are trying to stick with a budget. They food is cheap, but it don't taste cheap. I also tried their ribs and broccoli cheese casserole, it is also to die for, their ribs are like fall off the bone and their bar- b-que sauce is delicious. I have been to the cheddars in Hendersonville, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro and I have never left upset or regretting that I ate there. Don't matter which one you go to it's like they are all so good, like it's the same chief in all the kitchens. I can go to cheddars like every day and not get tired of it. It's like it n ever gets old or gets nasty. If anybody was to ask me about this restaurant I will not have anything bad to say about it, it is a wonderful place and it is well maintained, from the sitting are to the bathroom, it is all so nice and clean. Their food is all so good and well prepared and made to your liking that it's like you made it yourself. If you are looking for a cheap, but great place to eat you should try cheddars. read more
