Cannot say enough good about this restaurant. Great service and wonderful food. The portions are plentiful. I have been to two different locations and they both are equally good. The alcoholic beverages are to die for. The fruit tea is great also. I love the sides broccoli cheese casserole and red beans and rice. The catfish is the best I have ever had. We used to go here for lunch from work and it was good value. My wife and I took the grandkids here for dinner. We were seated in a nice booth and the waiter took the order for the drinks and we waited and waited. Eventually the waiter came over and apologized saying there was a mess getting drinks out but people who came in still got theirs way before us, when they arrived my Long Island lacked any evidence of containing alcohol. We ordered the entrees the same time as the drinks and they came out and the kids meals were fine, my wife's salad had gone awol and my ribeye steak was far from tender. The prices are low but it's only good value if it meets your expectations and you enjoy the experience which we did not. We ate at this location on Saturday, 10-13-18. Was seated right away and basically ignored by our supposed to be "waiter" Nathan. Took over 10 minutes to get our drinks. Ordered an appetizer and side salad which took over 20 minutes to get. I noticed people that had come in after us had already received drinks, salads, appetizers, etc. So I asked the lady in the front if we could get another server. She sent the manager and she herself brought our appetizer. Explained to the manager why I wanted another server and he said he'd be right back. When he returned, he said he was going to take care of the appetizer & not charge us since it was so late. But then, our food arrives, and yes, it was late also! Our fish dinners were COLD, not even lukewarm. So Nathan left them back there long enough to get cold! The manager ended up taking care of the entire meal because my husband and I didn't eat the "cold" food. I'm sure it was hot when they got done cooking it but Nathan had better things to do than serve people that day, I guess! For whatever reason he did this, I hope he has plans for another profession because he will never make it as a waiter if he doesn't do just that, wait on people! The manager though couldn't have been nicer or more understanding! I wish I had thought to get his name because he should be commended for doing a great job. Just moved here two months ago from Florida. Tonight was probably the fifth or sixth time we have been to this location and the food and service has always been excellent. Not tonight unfortunately! The food was good as always but our server was extremely rude. We came in at 8 and were seated in the bar area. When our server approached the table to get our drink order, he saw he was being seated again. Started shaking his head and rolling his eyes. It was clear that he didn't want to be there. Proceeded to bring us cold croissants, took our order then went back to a corner booth to sit down and eat. Quite sure my salad sat in the window while he was eating. Brought it out with my entree. Never asked if we needed anything. As we approached the end of our meal, never offered dessert or asked if we needed anything. Just brought the check. Worst service I've had in years!! My family and I normally do not eat out especially during this pandemic, but today we decided to dine at cheddars after church for the first time in a while. I have never left a review but it is important that I point out everything I noticed at cheddars. As we arrive in the parking lot we noticed a car with the confederate flag outside. We did feel disturbed but we know restaurants don't have control of who walks in to dine (if you have basic education, you know what that flag represents). We walk in the restaurant with our masks and notice two Caucasian families with no masks waited to be seated so we kept our distance. As we are seated towards the back, we noticed that their are only (but one person) people of color seated at the back of the restaurant, specifically Latinos and Asians. I would also like to point out that the back booths were cramped, with no type of distancing measures. still we remained with our masks. The people seated at the back of cheddars were only served by one Latino waiter and one black waitress, while their are multiple Caucasian waiters only serving the front. We did receive looks of disgusts from a family as if we didn't belong there. These are all the observations I have made from dining here and my family and I have never felt more uncomfortable at a public dining place and definitely do not plan to return to cheddars in Smyrna Tennessee. My family and arrived at Cheddars in Smyrna at 101 Industrial Blvd and we were waiting on our table like everyone. We walked in the restaurant with our masks and only removed them until we were seated. We were seated at the back of the restaurant and noticed that most of the births were almost full. We are seated and we start to notice other families being seated at the back. The booths at the back of the restaurant were seated all with people of color (Latino, Asian, Black etc ). Let me also mention that one car parked at the front of the restaurant had a confederate flag on their window (if you have any source of education, you know what that flag stands for). Their were also several servers walking about the restaurant but only one black server and one Latino server attended the guests in the back. I am not sure how else to describe it but you could feel the racism. We have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant and do not plan to return to Cheddars at Smyrna, TN again. read more

Peach tea was sweet and delicious! Bet it had 400 calories! Burgers were fine. Service was very attentive and helpful, not too intrusive.

Their portions are great for your money, the burgers were hot and delicious cooked just the way we ordered them. The French fries are a little too salty but a huge improvement over Rafferty's. There was only one downfall but we didn't take away any stars for this but; me and my husband LOVE to call in orders for pick up since we have small children that are usually asleep when we get to sit down for dinner, Cheddar's does not allow you to place orders for pick up over the phone you have to come in and place the order in person. This process takes over an hour and since one of us has to stay home with the children it really takes away from our evening together. We will probably not be able to eat here very often because of this. Hopefully it changes, I know they are new to town and all the other surrounding restaurants offer this service. read more

One star is for cheap, tasty food. One star is for a good waitress who kept our glasses filled. However, there is more to a good restaurant than cheap food and a good waitress. First, don't go here if you have a large party or a large person. There are 6 (maybe 8?) tables in the whole place including the bar area. You will be told right away that the wait for a table is one hour and it was. We watched group after group pass us to be seated in booths. The booth tables are attached to the wall, so you can't slide them to help small children reach, or large people fit. I have no idea what they do with wheelchairs or pregnant ladies. Second, It was extremely noisy. We had a party of 6 and couldn't hear each other talk unless you talked only to the person right next to you. It was a busy Sunday. Last, it took 30 minutes for most of our food to arrive, which isn't too bad since the place was busy. However, it didn't come all at once and we waited another 5-10 minutes for the last person to get her food. It's a shame the designers of the restaurant made it convenient for workers to clean the floors (booth tables attached to walls and very few tables and chairs). It should be convenient for guests to eat their meals. Retired people like us eat out a lot, and we have many choices in Rutherford County. I doubt we'll return to this restaurant. read more

We've seen chedders in a few locations but had never gone to one. Since we were staying around the corner from this one we thought lets give it a try. The host who we believe was the manager was nice enough when he sat us. But after that he stayed behind the bar with a girl that may have been the bartender. He was the loud one in the place staying back there most of the time we were there. The server was also nice enough but missed little things like why most of my meal was left on my plate. The app patter we ordered was the triple choice. Nachos, potato skins and cheese sticks. Cheese sticks good. Skins were chewy and the nachos tasted like a taco bell taco. My rib eye steak overall was good. it was to temp ordered and juicy. However, It was way over salted on one end. I felt like I was chewing on a salt like. It took a whole glass of coke to kill the salt taste. My mash potatoes were so dry even people in Arizona would water them. I asked for butter and never got it. The mac and cheese tasted like kraft with bread crumbs on top. Not bad but not good either. The kids grilled cheese was under cooked (I know, hard to do). The cheese wasn't melted. and Her fries were semi cold. The Baked Spasagna looked and tasted like a big gooey glop of spaghetti and cheese with a plain red sauce. No joke it looked like a bird crapped on a pile of road kill. Not the worst place we've ever been to but it wouldn't make the list of "go to" places. Sorry Chedders but I call like I see it. Oh, The Shepherd's Pie described in your menu should be called a cottage pie. I forgot to mention the runner that brought our food was in such a hurry she almost hit my wife in the face with her plate. read more

The parking lot of Cheddar's is always full every time we go there, but whether it's a party of 2 or a party of 10 we've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes. The food selection is able to appease any palate for American cuisine, and the food is just delicious and flavorful. I've had quite a few different things at Cheddars, but when a friend suggest I get the chicken tenders buffalo style...I've not ordered anything else other than that since that day. Every now and then I try to break into something new, but it's hard to pass up those buffalo chicken tenders. A great family environment, and great food. read more

Literally couldn't have had a worst experience at a restaurant if I tried. Only 1 of the 4 items ordered came out correctly. I also told the management that I had a soy allergy and they discussed with me the various options. Then when the meal came out the manager literally handed me a separate dish of margarine. He immediately took it away as soon as I mentioned it. However I'm very disappointed the lack of accuracy from the kitchen. The waitress wasn't much better and she was very aware how unhappy I was and instead of trying to make things better she took the tactic of avoidance and couldn't remember the one thing I asked for. The food and service were excellent. I had the ribs, broccoli casserole, and fries. They advertise the ribs to be fork off the bone tender. Their word holds true. The meat came off the bone very easy. The broccoli casserole was delicious as always. My wife had the tilapia and shrimp and was very pleased. Enough about the food. Came here on a Sunday for lunch with my parents...needless to say it was busy with the after-church crowd, BUT we only had to wait 15 minutes. Here's the thing that I appreciated most about Cheddar's: impeccable wait staff! We sat down, boom, within 10 seconds our drink order was taken. Drinks delivered less than a minute later. For an app we went with the hand-dipped onion rings. The batter was perfect, as it was nice and thin, and the dipping sauce was very similar to the Bloomin' Onion sauce. For lunch I got the fish tacos, my dad got the Shepard's Pie, and my mom got the pick two lunch combo. The portions were quite good and prices were phenomenally reasonable. For two fish tacos and a side (I went with the red beans and rice) it was only $6.99. We all enjoyed our meals and total bill was only $23.99. Tough to beat. The whole time, our server would bring a new drink before we were even half-way done with our current one. Service is what will definitely keep me coming back! read more

This is my first time at Cheddars and I will never try it again. I waited forever at this location and no server approached me to take my orders and so i left dismayed. What really bothered me is that they congregate in the same area where people dine and they talk at each other and never cared for their customers. They saw me waiting and made eye contact but never bothered to help or even ask for my order. If I was the manager, I would never let them congregate and talk loud in the dining area because it does not look good, it was so annoying. I will never return to this location ever. read more

I go to Cheddar's because I like the atmosphere and the servers are great in Smyrna. The food however is not great. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Pasta Caesar salad the other day with the dressing on the side. I also asked if they could leave out the pasta. They said sure. So they brought out a plate with scattered romaine lettuce on the bottom, chicken cold cuts torn up on top of the lettuce and a cup of dressing. I expected and actual piece of grilled chicken NOT torn up cold cuts. I also expected croutons but got NONE and no there was no parmesan cheese. I probably won't be going back anytime soon unless its just for drinks. I like their onion rings. Many dishes are really good. But, The last time we went they offered no children's coloring menu and no crayons. Why I asked? Children had colored on the walls? What? Are they better than some of the finest restaurants around? Parents and grandparents should complain. I thought it was very anti child friendly. I work at a local business in the Smyrna area and we were looking to buy some lunch. When I called over here and asked for the manager a gentleman came to the phone. He had a Spanish voice and said he was the kitchen manager. I told him we wanted to buy a bunch of food for 15 guys. He immediately responded with "we don't sell anything like that, we don't have platters here." I told him we were just looking for some type of food for a group of people and asked for ideas. He responded by telling me they don't do anything like that. I asked him over and over if he was a manager because he seemed very clueless at his job. He seemed like he had never been in customer service in his life. I asked him if he had any deals if I bought for a group and he told me that their prices are what they are and nothing can be changed. I still don't believe this guy was a manger because he shouldn't be. I called a different restaurant and got perfect service very quickly with a deal and had my food ready in an hour. read more
