Cheddar's here in Sherman is not so good. They are unsanitary - TIP don't eat salad. Servers make your salad not cooks! The servers also use their hands to pick up the salad lettuce and sides. Servers touch money and the bottom of dirty trays. read more

I have visited this location many times since its opening. Today, many years later, I brought my wife for her first time dining at Cheddars. The service was excellent, the food was fresh, well presented, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We had "pain killers," the signature Pina Coladas and tried the fish dishes. Both the tilapia and red fish were excellent. Autumn was a magnificent waitress, the manager asked about our experience at the conclusion of our meal (brought my wife some cookies), and compliments to the rest of the staff on better than expected service. Giving out five stars on service and food. Also, I am very pleased that nutritional information is easily available and there is a local menu on the website so my princess can make a more thought out decision without us having a couples debate. Okay so it's been a few years and we decided to give it another chance with our kids and grandkids since hey everybody deserves another chance. Nope. Not coming back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! My son in law ordered ribs. They came out ice cold. I ordered salmon with carrots and the carrots were cold, too. Salmon was lukewarm. Service was super slow. I've been going here since it opened and have always had a good experience here. they have good food at great prices-only I would not get the steak and shrimp because it's over priced. The cut of meat is literally tiny it would be enough for maybe a toddler and i think it's around $14. Other than that everything is great especially the dessert. We stopped here on the way back from the casino in Oklahoma on a Sunday night and it was a little late, almost closing time in fact. That did not stop the hostess/waitress from seating us and giving us excellent service. She did not try to rush us out or anything. We got our food fairly quick and it was delicious. I had the blackened salmon with green beans and broccoli and my girlfriend had the chicken tenders with broccoli and green beans. The restaurant is very clean. Cheddars in Grayson County has great food but inconsistent service. Be aware if you go during lunch time or have somewhere to be after-wards. We have visited this place many times over the years and the food has always been great but service has always been inconsistent. Today was no exception. Our waitperson took our order and we then began the wait. We watched as guests who arrived after us received their orders and our wait-persons only comment was that it was coming soon. Finally, they brought out my husbands soup. I had ordered a salad, but it never arrived. Finally a server delivered the rest of our order, still minus the salad. The waitress finally checked back with us after much of the meal was eaten and when asked about the missing salad, she didn't seem to care. We looked for a manager to make him aware of the situation but we never found one. When our bill arrived, the missing salad was found, on the bill (she had added it separately) and we had to remind her to remove the item. I have always enjoyed Cheddars but tonight I was very disappointed. I ordered Dijon chicken and mushrooms with broccoli and salad. I had to ask for my salad and my broccoli was so old it had yellow edges and stems. The chicken was tender but it was swimming in the Dijon sauce. Our waiter was excellent. Cheddars used to be my go to place. Decent prices on drinks, food choices for almost any appetite, and decent service. The last few times I've gone I've been less than pleased. Tonight my Skinny Sweet Tea drink was overly lemon flavored and entirely too sweet to drink. I sent it back and was still charged for it. My sirloin was fatty and my bed of onions might as well been missing. I literally had to saw my steak to cut it. My broccoli was steamed to perfection and unseasoned, which was actually a delightful thing since the corn (that I didn't order) was soaked heavily in butter and the carrots (that I did order and had to request again after the meal arrived) were wilted from being drowned in brown sugar syrup for so long. Went in Sunday night and sat at the bar for dinner as we've done many times before. Took about 15 minutes to even get acknowledged we were there. got a glass of wine. Took another 20 minutes before we were asked about ordering. Ordered appetizer. 15 minutes to get it. Then after ordering meal we see other people's orders coming out who arrive after us. On March 16, 2017 at about 5 pm, my party of 3 went to eat at this place. The service was so bad. The waitress did not listen. The knife was dirty. There was a screaming toddler and they were there when we arrived and when we left. We were double charged and then it showed a discount. There was no discount. The manager was unprofessional. Not once did I hear a sorry for the order being wrong. Instead, he was telling us what he wanted to say. For that manager, just tell the customer sorry and take off the meal that was messed up. We have always loved this place but last couple times, the host's didn't make eye contact or greet, the sprite was flat, bathrooms dirty, front sidewalk had gum stuck all over, my friend's BBQ chicken was dried out, bugs in the little lights over our table, dirty carpet all in the restaurant.
