First let me say my burger and fries tasted good but that's were it stoped. First our waiter took our drink order I asked for a particular type of drink. Neither him or the bartender new if they did. I looked at menu and noticed they did. I asked for no salt on rim came out with salt. He did switch with new glass. Then the chip and queso came out and the bowl of salsa had spilled on plate and most of the chips either broken or greasy. The burger came out and the plate was messy the toppings were all under the fries, a very poor presentation. Our waiter was nice enough but was either or just not cut out for this line of work. Went to Chedders in Sherman, Tx today for lunch. I usually get their catfish for lunch. Their catfish is great and I was looking forward to eating some catfish but they removed it from the menu. I asked the waitress about it being removed a d her reply was, it has always been whitefish(swai) which I know different. Then she said it was the same fish, which I know is different. She also said they did not tell her anything different. She also said that catfish is not local... but when you look at the menu, it plainly states that the swai is imported. Cheddar's here in Sherman is not so good. They are unsanitary - TIP don't eat salad. Servers make your salad not cooks! The servers also use their hands to pick up the salad lettuce and sides. Servers touch money and the bottom of dirty trays. read more

Was almost finished with my salad and then I bit down on a long ace broken off acrylic nail! Needless to say I was disgusted, the whole table lost their appetite. The manager claimed no one is allowed to wear acrylic nails so he doesn't know where it came come. How reassuring! Will not be eating there ever again. And with COVID going around I'm seriously freaked out about having that foreign object in my mouth that carries God knows how many germs. They took my meal off the ticket and gave me a voucher for next time. I'm not from here so I won't be using it even if I lived in the area. We went for lunch today and were seated working 15 minutes even though it was during the "lunch rush". However, after ordering our food it took between 30-45 minutes to bring it out. The waitress was very friendly and apologetic. The manager came and apologized also and said that our meal was on them since we had to wait so long. I've been going here since it opened and have always had a good experience here. they have good food at great prices-only I would not get the steak and shrimp because it's over priced. The cut of meat is literally tiny it would be enough for maybe a toddler and i think it's around $14. Other than that everything is great especially the dessert. We stopped here on the way back from the casino in Oklahoma on a Sunday night and it was a little late, almost closing time in fact. That did not stop the hostess/waitress from seating us and giving us excellent service. She did not try to rush us out or anything. We got our food fairly quick and it was delicious. I had the blackened salmon with green beans and broccoli and my girlfriend had the chicken tenders with broccoli and green beans. The restaurant is very clean. Ate at Cheddars tonight with my 2 kids & our server was very good & sweet. She got everything right including our to go order! I had spazana & it was great! Kids had chicken strips & lemon pepper chicken & said it was very good! We eat here often & it is usually great my only complaint is the ladies restroom is always a mess! Cheddars in Grayson County has great food but inconsistent service. Be aware if you go during lunch time or have somewhere to be after-wards. We have visited this place many times over the years and the food has always been great but service has always been inconsistent. Today was no exception. Our waitperson took our order and we then began the wait. We watched as guests who arrived after us received their orders and our wait-persons only comment was that it was coming soon. Finally, they brought out my husbands soup. I had ordered a salad, but it never arrived. Finally a server delivered the rest of our order, still minus the salad. The waitress finally checked back with us after much of the meal was eaten and when asked about the missing salad, she didn't seem to care. We looked for a manager to make him aware of the situation but we never found one. When our bill arrived, the missing salad was found, on the bill (she had added it separately) and we had to remind her to remove the item. Food is good but no consistency to their service which makes coming here problematic. read more

I was contacted by a manager of this restaurant and he was genuinely concerned with what I had to say about our experiences at this location. He sent us comps for the meal we had. We did not advise the restaurant that we had comps until after we ate, and we went on Friday night when the restaurant was really busy - not to test them, but it was when we were all in Sherman together. I kid you not, this was probably the best service I've received from a waitress this whole year. I do know this is the best service I've seen at this restaurant in 3. Again, I haven't been frequenting this location because their service ruined the experience. The manager that was on duty was visiting tables (not the same manager from our last visit) and he actually brought refills to our table. I don't see managers helping staff out that way often - kudos to him. I cannot think of a single thing they could have done differently on this visit to make the meal better. I asked to speak to the manager and when I told him how good the waitress was, he said that they have recognized her and she is training other staff. This was a 5 star experience. This dinner far exceeded what I expect from a chain restaurant. *** I keep trying to give this place a chance but they disappoint over and over again. I'd say they do ok about 1 in 3 visits. I won't go into all the issues over past but most recently they were bringing out meals with no flatware on the table. We did not get salads that come with meal and we had to tell the waitress the salads came with the meal when we asked about it. We had to beg for 15 minutes to get lemons for our drinks. When flatware did arrive, only one set was brought out and the waitress had to search for more. All the time food is sitting on the table getting cold. I do believe there was a manager on duty but he was standing there watching the chaos and not approaching any tables. Some food was ok but the steak was tough. This is a new low for this place. The most common issues are caused by someone other than the waiter bringing the food out - and it's usually wrong and one tends to just eat what comes out. I don't go too often anymore but I used to really like the place so I keep giving second chances. I suggest you search reviews by date - I have a feeling management turns over quickly here which may be why it is so hot and miss. read more

Ordered a Sirlon medium well and it came still bleeding and sent back to cook up to medium well took 10 minutes and got it back and it was well done so they sent the manger out and she was very rude. This place has gone a little down hill with all the computers on the tables. So you can order your own drinks & appetizers even pay your bill,,,but there are waiters for that. I always order the chicken tenders that are abundant but sometimes they are not fresh which makes them chewy. Burgers are awesome as are the drinks. Love the chips and queso/salsa. I have always enjoyed Cheddars but tonight I was very disappointed. I ordered Dijon chicken and mushrooms with broccoli and salad. I had to ask for my salad and my broccoli was so old it had yellow edges and stems. The chicken was tender but it was swimming in the Dijon sauce. Our waiter was excellent. Cheddars used to be my go to place. Decent prices on drinks, food choices for almost any appetite, and decent service. The last few times I've gone I've been less than pleased. Tonight my Skinny Sweet Tea drink was overly lemon flavored and entirely too sweet to drink. I sent it back and was still charged for it. My sirloin was fatty and my bed of onions might as well been missing. I literally had to saw my steak to cut it. My broccoli was steamed to perfection and unseasoned, which was actually a delightful thing since the corn (that I didn't order) was soaked heavily in butter and the carrots (that I did order and had to request again after the meal arrived) were wilted from being drowned in brown sugar syrup for so long. I have visited this location many times since its opening. Today, many years later, I brought my wife for her first time dining at Cheddars. The service was excellent, the food was fresh, well presented, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We had "pain killers," the signature Pina Coladas and tried the fish dishes. Both the tilapia and red fish were excellent. Autumn was a magnificent waitress, the manager asked about our experience at the conclusion of our meal (brought my wife some cookies), and compliments to the rest of the staff on better than expected service. Giving out five stars on service and food. Also, I am very pleased that nutritional information is easily available and there is a local menu on the website so my princess can make a more thought out decision without us having a couples debate. Okay so it's been a few years and we decided to give it another chance with our kids and grandkids since hey everybody deserves another chance. Nope. Not coming back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! My son in law ordered ribs. They came out ice cold. I ordered salmon with carrots and the carrots were cold, too. Salmon was lukewarm. Service was super slow. This is my favorite restaurant in Texas. I've been back a few times and enjoyed the food and service each time. The entrees are fresh and the price seems right. I've been told to avoid their green beans but there are many sides to choose from. Be sure to ask about the honey butter croissants. read more

On March 16, 2017 at about 5 pm, my party of 3 went to eat at this place. The service was so bad. The waitress did not listen. The knife was dirty. There was a screaming toddler and they were there when we arrived and when we left. We were double charged and then it showed a discount. There was no discount. The manager was unprofessional. Not once did I hear a sorry for the order being wrong. Instead, he was telling us what he wanted to say. For that manager, just tell the customer sorry and take off the meal that was messed up. The place needs a good cleaning, helpful staff, and a manager that cares. Food was burnt, steak overcooked and food generally slopped on the plate. Never saw a manager. We have always loved this place but last couple times, the host's didn't make eye contact or greet, the sprite was flat, bathrooms dirty, front sidewalk had gum stuck all over, my friend's BBQ chicken was dried out, bugs in the little lights over our table, dirty carpet all in the restaurant.
