The food selection is nice, and the grilled pork chop, macaroni and cheese, baked potatoe, cinnamon apples, and honey cornbread was beyond Delicious!! And, they have Pumpkin Spice lemonade!! The employees are very nice along with great service. Also the place has beautiful decor that is eye catching and calming that makes for a comfy home feeling. Greeted and seated immediately. We chose to sit in a booth so we would have plenty of room. Not hungry for meat I chose to eat veggies. I had a small house salad, baked squash, fried okra, and pinto beans. The food was extremely hot and delicious. Our server was amazing but I forgot to get her name. April 2nd One of our favorite places to eat. We leave good reviews when warranted and bad as well. The service was TERRIBLE. One large table had already ordered before we arrived only a few tables were occupied. It took 45 min to get our food. It would have been nice if this was communicated to us. We had plans to attend a game. We missed 1/2 of it! Our server was trying but the kitchen obviously didn't have their act together. While I live in Denison, I normally frequent a different CPC while commuting. Tonight, I decided to stay closer to home and wish I hadn't. The chicken and dumplings was watery with no enough flavor to notice. I had to search for any sign of actual chicken. The baked squash was inedible and had a vinegar taste to it. The rolls were tiny, not what I'm used to from CPC and the inside was raw. Normally, I can always find something I like about a meal but not this time. The people that work there were all so nice when we went there today for lunch. Our waitress was Valerie and she was so sweet and treated us so good. She is a very good waitress. The food was good and there was plenty of it. We couldn't eat all of it! And the restaurant was very nostalgic looking and open and that is what I like in a restaurant. read more

Maybe just for that day, all my dishes are more salty than we like. Unless this is how the local likes it. The prices are reasonable for food but the portion is small. Maybe fried food is a better choice here. The drinks are a bit higher than expected. A draft is $5. The restaurant is not packed, but still wait 30 minutes for our dishes. read more

She did it again. Every since Mary came back as the manager the food has been exceptional. This time we got the Chipotle maple chicken and a Dr Pepper BBQ burger and they were both spot on. They seated us quickly and took our drink order within 2 minutes. It looks so much cleaner as well. Thank you for making Denison a better place to eat out! read more

We had the chicken fried steak on daily special. It was one of the best ones ive had in a long time. Tender and tasty with a great batter. It was huge in size ! I could only eat half of it. The waiter was super and he checked on us several times. We were visited by i presume the manager and she also insured we had a good dining experience. Side salad was huge and very good. Dressing side was very tasty. All this great food for under 10 bucks is just unbelievable. read more

We ordered straight off the menu with no changes or anything and it literally took an hour and a half to get our food for two of us. Just two meals. Food arrived cold. Absurd. AMAZING experience! It was our first time at this location. The food was hot and tasty. Service was so great. It was a great overall feeling, not too loud and the General Manager, Bobby, even stopped by and said hello! It always makes me feel welcomed when management takes the time to come by and just make sure everyone was taken care of. 5 here because it's all I can leave, but great job to the staff! Since they redesigned the seating area, it seems less cluttered- more open and fresh! I had the Pork tenderloin medallions with the very cheesy broccoli and rice casserole and a hefty dose of loaded mashed potatoes- very tasty! Driving through Texas stopped for late lunch. Cold weather calls for comfort food never been to this chain. They have a Lunch special $7.00 What who can do that !!!Smaller portions but still all the flavor. Tiki Hubby had to go with the chicken fried steak and loaded potato. When he could not decide between cream gravy or jalapeños creamy gravy nicest waitress in the world said no worries I will bring you both to try. I went with mix and match 1/2 and 1/2 soup, salad or sandwich. Had to try chicken and dumplings and 1/2 BLT. Food was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I placed a to go order, and it was ready when promised. Delicious soft pillowy rolls, you know they're good when the grease cuts through the bag. They reminded me of Texas Roadhouse rolls. The chicken tortilla soup had fantastic flavor and actual chicken chunks; I could've eaten a gallon. Loved that they included the fresh avocado and crispy tortilla strip toppings (in a separate container). Monday night special was chicken fried steak. The beast was bigger than my face and barely fit in the to go container; it was good with white gravy. I'm sure it would've been even better had I ate in restaurant when it's hot n crispy. The grilled shrimp with rice were cooked and seasoned well, great value for $3. I had the meatloaf for lunch the following day. I had low expectations since it looked sad in the to go container, but it was amazing! The small portion was perfect for lunch. The mashed potatoes were fine, nothing special but should be eaten fresh. They were not great the next day but probably needed to be reheated properly in a pot and loosened up with cream instead of a microwave. Butter cake was good even though I didn't warm it, but I'd pass on the peach cobbler ala mode next time. My only minor complaint is they forgot the vanilla ice cream for the cobbler. Let's start off with the positive. They do temp checks at the door.thebathrooms were clean and toasty! Now the rest of the experience. It was freezing inside. We were going to be sat by the door, and asked to be moved away. The rest of the restaurant was just as cold. Once the server came over to take our drink order,we asked if the heat could be turned up. She said the blower was messed up. But go the manager. No we did not ask to speak to the manager. She said the same. But after a bit we did notice a slight warming in temperature. Now the bathrooms were super toasty. Spinach & artichoke dip had virtually no flavor. Salsa was the same, just basically tomatoes. Waitress never asked if I needed another hot tea and did not offer or bring me a water. Hit tea did not last long due to the coldness of the building. Ordered the catfish basket with a side of chicken and dumplings. The chicken and dumplings had no dumplings in it. Had to ask for salt and pepper twice. By the time it was brought, the chicken stuff was cold. I have posted pictures of the catfish and hush puppies from the basket. Both were under cooked. Fries were yummy though. Over all. Bad experience. Bad good. Slow service. Maybe we went in a bad night. But we won't go back. read more

Although it's a chain, the lack of solid local restaurants in the Sherman/Denison area has me eating chains probably more often than I'm used to. I ordered via Door Dash a simple meatloaf with loaded mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli and added 3 rolls onto the order. The meatloaf was dry as hell, the broccoli wasn't even steamed all the way through (how hard is it to steam broccoli?! Come on!), and they sent me 3 brown rocks for rolls...burnt to hell and dry af. The only absolutely mediocre thing that was salvageable were the mashed potatoes. This is the 3rd time I've tried this place and it's been awful each time. There are WAY better food options in the area- don't waste your money here. read more
