First time dining at this Cheddar's! Our food and alcoholic beverage tasted really good. The hostesses were very friendly. We were told that the wait would be 30 minutes; however, we actually waited about 15 minutes. My only issue was my server. He was so unfriendly. I know it's hard getting workers now but having someone like him working who clearly gives off an attitude of not wanting to be work is a complete waste. I actually think the rating for this restaurant is off by a long shot. I believe you have to rate these places appropriately. Food was amazing and I see that they got smart and made the croissants complimentary. I believe that will be a game changer for this establishment. Not many places offer that. This location gets pretty busy. As a vegetarian I like to order Gigi's Baked Spasagna and garlic bread. They also have a vegetable plate which is basically a sides plate as another vegetarian option. Gigi's baked spasagna is the love child of spaghetti and lasagna. They offer it with marinara sauce and the marinara sauce is a great choice to make it a vegetarian meal. It's decent food nothing marvelous. A lower score because the service was very slow. We didn't see our waiter and had to ask the hostess to find our waiter. read more

As the saying goes, "good help is hard to find." **sigh** It took approximately 15 minutes for our server to even acknowledge we had been sat before he finally came over to take our drink order. I specifically asked for lemon to compliment my sweet tea, as to which I had to request it another 2 times. It took him another 13 minutes to bring our drinks and take our order. After another 10 minutes, he returned with the wrong drink and no missing food item. I had to remind him about it. I also took the opportunity to ask for more ranch. He returned with the wrong side and no ranch. It took another 15 minutes to return with the correct side. Still no ranch. 3 times must be a charm since that's the number of times it took for him to carry out a request. Pictured are my gummy mashed potatoes. The waitress was horribly rude and couldn't stop acting like she hated every second of life I guess. Then disappeared for some time. There was a fly in the house salad. They serve fish and chips with no malt vinegar and the waitress got a snooty attitude when I asked for malt vinegar. The manager was super nice. The waitresses working need an attitude check. They don't serve onion rings anymore. The only reason I came here. The wait was extra long because they were backed up in the kitchen. They sat us at a table that had trash and spilled soda under the table. My shoes were sticking to the floor. They came and swept under the table and cleaned the floor with wet paper towel. (No mop). We had a newborn with us and the "sling" for car seats was missing half the safety belt. The young lady went and got another one and it to was broken...they all were. Our waitress was new and very nice. She was a petite African American young woman I didn't get her name. She made it a point to make our experience a good one. Her and the young man that was working with her, he's the one who cleaned the floor. Both were awesome. The food was delicious, it gets a 5, I had the fried fish plate. I give the service a 5 only because they couldn't help the issues in the kitchen. Which made our wait to sit over an hour long. Ambiance, gets a 2, it's been a while since I've been here clearly the place needs a good deep cleaning. The baby slings need to be replaced boosters seats need to be cleaned ( we used one). Restrooms should be checked and cleaned every 30 minutes or once an hour. Toilet paper all on the floor, no paper towels and needed mopping. The floors need to be swept and mopped. There was trash and soda under our table and as I glanced around I could see trash under other tables. I won't be back, unless I'm invited in a group. No onion rings, for that was what made Cheddar's a place I wanted to visit. Clean it up Cheddar's. Management needs to change or get retrained. read more

My wife ordered the dijon chicken with mushrooms, with a house salad and baked potato. I order the country fried steak with mashed potatos and subbed the green beans for a house salad. When the bring the salads out we had to ask for silverware. They bring us plasticware because they ran out of silverware which was currently being cleaned. Just as we finished our salads our meals came out minus the mashed potatos. I ask for the them and our waiter says I subbed them for the salad. I tell him that I subbed for the green beans. At the same time my wife asks if there was any silverware available. He takes off and vomes back quickly with the mashed potatos and wrapped silverware. Other than the mash potato confusion, the waiter was pretty good, the food on the other hand was not. One chicken filet my wife got had the texture of a pencil eraser. Her baked potato was barely warm, didn't even melt the butter. Needless to say she didn't finish it. My country fried steak was big, but it was an illusion. The actual steak was half the size, it was mainly empty fried batter. My mashed potatoes gave the appearance of real mashed potatos but had a weird flavor. It tasted like real potatoes mixed with instant potatoes, not good. The silverware we finally received had food crusted on them so we asked for another set which were also dirty. After reading other reviews apparently this is an issue that has yet to be fixed. Its been a few years since we last ate here and decided to give it another try. HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE!! IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. Visited this location in Selma, Texas with my husband and 2 boys. We ordered and everything was fine, TILL we received our meal. Both my boys ordered the Penne Alfredo off the kids menu. One of my sons digs into his alfredo and starts to eat and I look over at him and there is a ROACH in his pasta. A FREAKING ROACH in my sons food. How filthy is this store that there are roaches in the food. I was horrified. Our server tried to comfort me, while we waited over 15 minutes for the manager Christina to arrive. Although she apologized she seemed to think that a free cheesecake was the answer to this. I couldn't believe it. This must be a normal occurrence at this establishment, because the look on the servers face let me know they have dealt with this before. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time around 1 month ago. We loved our experience with all of the cheeses, and we have been going there since. We love the cheese and their Buttered Croissant for the appetizers. You can also order the Buttered Croissant to go and I also ordered a dozen of it and they stayed fresh for close to two days. Decided since I am alone to eat at the bar. Unlike most places, their bar is wide enough to fit a full dinner plate and drinks in front of you without being crowded.
