I was in the area and really wanted breakfast after an appointment. I visited this restaurant around half an hour before closing. I was also waiting for my friend to come join me. I was told by the lady at the counter to order and take it to go. I understand they need to go home on a Saturday. I decided to just order some baked goodies to go. I am very picky about pastries specially homemade ones. Yes it looks like they bake everything on site but why the need to use essences? I got a pound cake which is super moist baked to perfection! And then you bite into it you get the strong strong taste of fake almond essence! I realized this is one bakery that make things from scratch and actually is good! But why ruin it with the essence? Man... Williams Confectionery Crafts done messed around and cooked me a plate straight outta my grandma's kitchen. I sat down thinking I was just gonna eat, but when that mac & cheese hit my fork? I almost called my mama to apologize for all the times I said her food was "just okay." The green beans tasted like they been simmering since Moses parted the Red Sea, squash and onions so tender they slid into my spirit, and that roll? Soft enough to wipe away your sins. And don't get me started on the fried chicken tenders--crispy like they just whispered "HalleluYah" when they came out the grease. I've been wanting to try this place and just happened to be in the neighborhood. I went up to the register and stated it was my first time there and the nice lady behind the register told me to have a seat and they will come take my order. As I'm sitting and waiting, a man comes in after me. One of the waitresses comes over to take a families' order then proceeds to go to the guy who came in after me. She takes his drink order. I saw Williams on Yelp while looking for some sweet treats. I stoped by and ordered a few treats, but left with a smile too; for free! The team were so friendly and made sure to make everyone feel welcome. Inside I learned that Williams is also a diner with a lot of seating. The food served here is just as good as the bakery items! Oh. My. Goodness. I had a wonderful breakfast experience with Ms. Williams and her family. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and somehow, this team performed magic on regular ole' morning dishes. Our food and service were superb. The hominy/grits were cooked and seasoned well. Our party of four each ordered differently styled eggs, which were appropriately prepared to our individual desires (such a small thing that is often not done well). Dem biscuits. These wonderful, daily made biscuits brought joy to my soul on first bite. I couldn't even contain myself long enough to add butter, honey, or a fruit spread before mine was devoured. I was feeling out of character and ordered a pork chop for breakfast. I misunderstood a question and thought I was ordering grilled vs. fried hashbrowns. I was a little disappointed when a non-fried pork chop was presented. Upon noticing my reaction, the regular who brought us stated, "I didn't know why you asked for that grilled." LET ME TELL YOU- this grilled delight was perfectly seasoned and cooked! The first bite changed my attitude. After easily slicing through with my butter knife, I asked one of the teammates who cooked this pork chop. She said, "Momma. Everything alright?" I then advised her to let Momma Williams know I owed her a hug before I left the premises. After sharing (a small bite) with the repeat patron, they declared it was even better than the expertly fried pork chops he'd enjoyed there in the past. In addition to dem biscuits, they have the audacity to taunt you with numerous baked goods at checkout. At least 15 different A1c challenging options were taunting us as we were just trying to pay our bill. Long story long, we happily spent just as much on the carry-out sweets as we did on breakfast! The chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake, key lime CAKE, chocolate cake, carrot cake, and hummingbird cake slices extended our joy over the next two days. I'm not sure why me and the folks who out here assigning 1-2 stars experienced such a different reality, but I will say thank you Lord and I'll be back next visit! I've been looking for a place with good food that never fails since I moved here in 2021. It's a little restaurant inside of a small strip mall. It's a little divey filled with black art and references, religious and spiritual decor. It feels like a welcoming place. The cases are filled with desserts of all kinds but don't be confused. Confectionery isn't all be served here. The breakfast is outstanding. Perfectly fried or grilled pork chop with eggs and the creamiest grits in the city. I'm told there are also omelets but the chips gave me in a chokehold. Apparently people like to gatekeep this place which is weird. Tell the people so it never closes. The construction over there is annoying but it's all over town. It's worth the drive and the headache. read more

We both had the loaded stuffed biscuit with gravy. $10 each. This is a deal because the biscuit is huge and stuffed with three meats, several cheeses, veggies, including spinach. Was freakin' delicious. Coffee is only $2 and quite tasty. You take care of your own refills at the coffee station. Sodas are only $1.50. Food and drink is honestly so inexpensive. Family run. All the members are so nice. God-fearing people. You can hear a sermon on the radio in the kitchen. Religious artifacts throughout the restaurant. We got a scone, brownie and cinnamon roll to go. The bisucuts were at least 3 inches high and super fluffy. The pancake stack was light and yummy. The chicken salad sandwich was so filling, my daughter could only eat half. Your choice of white gravy or sausage gravy ( naturally my friend choose sausage like any good Texan). I believe it was the owner who waited on us herself. It was like your grandma making sure you got the breakfast you wanted. Most likely her husband checked on us and cleared the table so we could relax and chat. We ordered a custom cake as we left - that impressed by the love and care that went into the baked goods! Nice neighborhood cafe that is worth a drive if needed.
