if you havent stopped by william's confectionery you are MISSING OUT! breakfast! yum! lunches! yum! desserts YUMMMMM! service is always fast & friendly. nice atmosphere and you can tell the "locals" treasure this spot. first time trying lunch (hard to pass up those light fluffy biscuits with breakfast - upgrade from toast for .50 last time i asked. thursday lunch had pork chops, smothered (and i think fried or grilled, i quit reading after SMOTHERED!) came with rice & gravy, greens and pineapple casserole. it was an insult to the chop for a knife to be provided. although this chop was huge, and thick, it was FORK tender! gravy was delicious too, not that gloppy dark brown stuff, but nicely textured, extremely tasty homemade sauce. greens - perfection. i wasnt sure about the pineapple casserole, it wasnt something i was familiar with. seemed to be a combo of pineapple chunks, shredded cheese with a crunchy topping. sounded like an unusual combo, but it was tasty. always fun to find something new. grabbed EXTRA greens to go with my leftover pork chop along with a raspberry bar & my fave chess pie for hubbie & i to share later. read more

The staff appeared to be family-run, which often adds charm to a place, but we didn't experience the kind of welcoming, lively atmosphere you might expect from a family-style restaurant. It seemed like everyone may have just been having a long day. My husband usually prefers Tex-Mex or breakfast tacos, and since I don't indulge in bacon and eggs very often, I tend to look for a breakfast spot that really wows us when we do go that route. I was in the area and really wanted breakfast after an appointment. The ambiance at Williams Confectionery is always great because the employees make you feel like family. I was able to look at the menu with no pressure and ordered pancakes, an omelet with the works and a biscuit. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious as was the biscuit. The omelet was just ok. What a hidden gem! My husband and I wanted a good breakfast this morning and decided to give Williams confectionery a shot and when I say we will be back!!!!! The food was absolutely amazing, but the service was even better? Ms. Williams is the sweetest lady, definitely went over and beyond to make sure both my husband and I were completely satisfied. This is a small locally owned place that reminds me of the diners and bakeries from hallmark movies. Very lovingly decorated and the bakery case is right in the entrance. Self served refill station for tea and water. The meatloaf was delicious and the sides I picked were salad and beans. Both delicious and home made flavors. I visited this restaurant around half an hour before closing. I was also waiting for my friend to come join me. I was told by the lady at the counter to order and take it to go. I understand they need to go home on a Saturday. I decided to just order some baked goodies to go. I am very picky about pastries specially homemade ones. Yes it looks like they bake everything on site but why the need to use essences? I got a pound cake which is super moist baked to perfection! And then you bite into it you get the strong strong taste of fake almond essence! I realized this is one bakery that make things from scratch and actually is good! But why ruin it with the essence? Man... Williams Confectionery Crafts done messed around and cooked me a plate straight outta my grandma's kitchen. I sat down thinking I was just gonna eat, but when that mac & cheese hit my fork? I almost called my mama to apologize for all the times I said her food was "just okay." The green beans tasted like they been simmering since Moses parted the Red Sea, squash and onions so tender they slid into my spirit, and that roll? Soft enough to wipe away your sins. And don't get me started on the fried chicken tenders--crispy like they just whispered "HalleluYah" when they came out the grease. I saw Williams on Yelp while looking for some sweet treats. I stoped by and ordered a few treats, but left with a smile too; for free! The team were so friendly and made sure to make everyone feel welcome. Inside I learned that Williams is also a diner with a lot of seating. The food served here is just as good as the bakery items! I've been wanting to try this place and just happened to be in the neighborhood. I went up to the register and stated it was my first time there and the nice lady behind the register told me to have a seat and they will come take my order. As I'm sitting and waiting, a man comes in after me. One of the waitresses comes over to take a families' order then proceeds to go to the guy who came in after me. She takes his drink order. One of my favorite dishes is the Chicken & Dumplings, served only on Tuesday. It is so comforting. The Breakfast Special is great - eggs, bacon or sausage, grits and toast. You can substitute the total for the large biscuit for an additional charge. It's worth it. The Loaded Biscuit is great, as well as the BBQ chicken and catfish, both served only on Friday. The Cafe is small in size but serves comforting and delicious food. Also, the dessert options at the bakery are plentiful and delicious. I've been looking for a place with good food that never fails since I moved here in 2021. It's a little restaurant inside of a small strip mall. It's a little divey filled with black art and references, religious and spiritual decor. It feels like a welcoming place. The cases are filled with desserts of all kinds but don't be confused. Confectionery isn't all be served here. The breakfast is outstanding. Perfectly fried or grilled pork chop with eggs and the creamiest grits in the city. I'm told there are also omelets but the chips gave me in a chokehold. Apparently people like to gatekeep this place which is weird. Tell the people so it never closes. The construction over there is annoying but it's all over town. It's worth the drive and the headache. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. I had a wonderful breakfast experience with Ms. Williams and her family. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and somehow, this team performed magic on regular ole' morning dishes. Set up like many smaller family owned spaces, the ambiance is clean but nothing fancy. There were options to purchase local(?) art fares and t-shirts. Our food and service were superb. The hominy/grits were cooked and seasoned well. Our party of four each ordered differently styled eggs, which were appropriately prepared to our individual desires (such a small thing that is often not done well). Dem biscuits. These wonderful, daily made biscuits brought joy to my soul on first bite. I couldn't even contain myself long enough to add butter, honey, or a fruit spread before mine was devoured. I was feeling out of character and ordered a pork chop for breakfast. I misunderstood a question and thought I was ordering grilled vs. fried hashbrowns. I was a little disappointed when a non-fried pork chop was presented. Upon noticing my reaction, the regular who brought us stated, "I didn't know why you asked for that grilled." LET ME TELL YOU- this grilled delight was perfectly seasoned and cooked! The first bite changed my attitude. After easily slicing through with my butter knife, I asked one of the teammates who cooked this pork chop. She said, "Momma. Everything alright?" I then advised her to let Momma Williams know I owed her a hug before I left the premises. After sharing (a small bite) with the repeat patron, they declared it was even better than the expertly fried pork chops he'd enjoyed there in the past. In addition to dem biscuits, they have the audacity to taunt you with numerous baked goods at checkout. At least 15 different A1c challenging options were taunting us as we were just trying to pay our bill. Long story long, we happily spent just as much on the carry-out sweets as we did on breakfast! The chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake, key lime CAKE, chocolate cake, carrot cake, and hummingbird cake slices extended our joy over the next two days. I'm not sure why me and the folks who out here assigning 1-2 stars experienced such a different reality, but I will say thank you Lord and I'll be back next visit! We both had the loaded stuffed biscuit with gravy. $10 each. This is a deal because the biscuit is huge and stuffed with three meats, several cheeses, veggies, including spinach. Was freakin' delicious. Coffee is only $2 and quite tasty. You take care of your own refills at the coffee station. Sodas are only $1.50. Food and drink is honestly so inexpensive. Family run. All the members are so nice. God-fearing people. You can hear a sermon on the radio in the kitchen. Religious artifacts throughout the restaurant. We got a scone, brownie and cinnamon roll to go.
