Was wondering around the Universal City area around lunch time and I took advantage and decided to try Four Kings Bakery out for a homemade sandwich and to my surprise I made a great choice! My wife recommended me the place from her previous experience so I was sold when I was looking for something local to eat at! You can see from their customers and lunch filled crowd why Four Kings serves a good sandwich! I ordered the Roast Turkey, filled with creamy avocado, baby spinach, Jack cheese and roasted Turkey in between two crispy warm homemade buns made for an excellent lunch! The bakery is open up to lunch time 2pm and the place is very hole in the wall, small business owned and creates for a very home town atmosphere! Overall great sandwiches, they also sell soups and Bahn Mis and from I learned after leaving pastries next door! Until next time, I cannot wait to get my hands on this sandwich again! read more

Wow! Just wow. I've been meaning to get over to Four Kings for years!!!! I finally went today just on a whim because I was craving a Bahn Mi. This is was sooooo delicious and fresh! The Cucumber salad was so damn good! The flavors were incredible and super fresh ingredients. The people were extremely nice and sweet. It felt like home if that makes sense. And idk what I was expecting in the inside but I didn't expect it to give me that old school local restaurant feel. It felt very comfortable. I would definitely go back. And the prices!! I would consider this a joke in the wall bakery. Very rustic, with an almost rundown look. Needs brightening up or remodeling. Serve yourself service. The atmosphere was sad. We bought a loaf of specialty bread, that wasn't really special. We came here as a passerby trying to it out experience. Probably would not return. Me and my family came here and loved it! The bread that they make next door is soft and fresh. We all got sandwiches and loved them all. I got the Bon Mi and it was spicy with the fresh jalapeños and the flavor of the meat was really good. The others got the turkey with avocado and they really liked that too - especially with the aioli. All I need to make my day is one of their desserts. This place is so good that I eat one of their desserts at least once a week. My favorite is their coconut cream pie. Best PLACE EVER! I don't know why I haven't posted sooner about this place but TODAY IS THAT DAY! Is there anything more awesome than fresh baked goodies? No, there is not! And Four Kings Bakery makes some of the BEST. I've been to this place multiple times, and I haven't been disappointed! This time around, we got mini red velvet cake, Samoa butter bar, honey bun cake, and the coconut pecan cookie. Quick reviews of each one because I don't wanna be typing on my phone too long! Lol Mini Bundt Red Velvet Cake- moist! Cream cheese frosting! Delish! Honey Bun cake- again moist! Delicious textural pecan streusel! Great with coffee! Samoa Butter Bar- (wait, what is a butter bar you say! Not sure! It reminds me of a better ooey gooey cake) this butter bar was decadent, rich, and had real Samoas baked into it! So good! Great with milk! Coconut pecan cookie- if you see it then GET IT! It had an excellent cookie to pecan to coconut ratio. It was slightly chewy and not hard or stale! This was our first visito 4 Kong's. Luckily I saw their French Toast My Life event on Facebook. My family went and we ordered both the regular and cheesecake filling stuffed French toast. It was delicious-the stuffed was a little too sweet for us but still yummy. My only ding was that half of my French toast was still soggy & mushy. Which ended up being fine because you get two large slices. The picture on their FB event showed the FT w/bacon. Do I assumed their would be bacon. Nope. It's annoyingly when something is advertised one way then you order and it's not the same. But we are now customers they have sooooooo many goodies! Cakes, cookie bars, breads, etc. We took home the thin mint, Carmel and butter cookie bars-they were all delicious! read more

This place is great. I wish I had made a visit here sooner, but I was finally able to check this out on a Saturday afternoon. The fact is that Four Kings Bakery has crappy hours that are not conducive to a lot of the working world, but if you work nights or 2nd shift (?)... or have odd work hours, or you don't work, or you happen to be off your regular schedule for one day... or work in the area and can make it during your lunch break, then you can enjoy the joy that is Four Kings Bakery. So anyway, my partner in crime and I walked in like WHOA.... takin it all in. This place is pretty unique. We probably ordered too much. There was a couple other things I wish we'd ordered but left without. One in particular was the mozzarella stuffed pretzel roll. Those little suckers are good lookin' pieces of bread. They're purdy... and I bet they taste purdy too. Four Kings Bakery had our favorite dessert! The chocolate pots au creme!!! Yay!!! Mmmm... Its also known as pots de creme, Four Kings Bakery sign had it labeled as "Chocolate Pots". Got a loaf of sandwich bread. It smells good. Lots of stuff to try. Brownies and sourdough are so good! Next time we're trying the cheese cake and other yummy goods. Staff was legit cool.

We primarily went for the donut bread pudding featured in someone's photo here on Yelp, but we were informed they rarely make that item. (Though they take requests if you just call in and ask for it, apparently.) Luckily, cinnamon roll bread pudding was on the menu instead, which turned out to be a very suitable replacement, made even better later at home after being heated in the oven. The maple pecan bar was good, but not really our thing. Likewise with the cheese pretzel stick. The real highlight was the chocolate chunk cookie, which may be the best chocolate chip cookie we've ever had - and we've had a lot of chocolate chip cookies. read more

AMAZING. Everything is so good. We have tried so many things and one is just better than the next. They serve a breakfast option on Saturday and it never disappoints. They post on Facebook what they have each day and we will make special trips to get our favorites. Everything from their breads to their butterbars are mouthwatering. The lady was super knowledgeable on all their offerings, her recommendations were on point & she was just a treat to be around in general. It's nice to have service from someone who enjoys their job & again.... the pastries are to die for. The oldies but goodies such as the lemon tart & snickerdoodle are as good as they get. I visited the deli and bakery part of this establishment about a month ago. I had the black forest ham sandwich, some chips and a fountain drink. All delicious and very fresh! The service was quick and exceptional. They were not that busy when we arrived but the line was out the door by the time we left. We went next door to their bakery and I got 12 items as I was collecting pastries to take to my family Christmas. The lady at the counter was very patient as I made my selections and happy to make recommendations. She carefully boxed everything up separately and then bagged it up so we could tote them home. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh even a couple days later! Very creative combinations and we enjoyed them all. read more
