First time visiting this location. I stopped in hoping to find a good boba spot based on the name. When I walked in, I expected to see a full menu, but although there was a screen, only half of it was working. Thankfully, I had the menu on my phone, which made ordering possible. The young lady who took our order was kind and pleasant, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves were very underwhelming. There was little to no flavor--honestly, if I were blindfolded, I wouldn't have been able to tell what I was drinking. These guys are a local business so I don't want to give them a difficult time just feedback. The Ice cream taco is a great concept. It lacked a bit on flavor unfortunately. There is barely any seating and I almost missed the place coming in as it almost looks completely shut down. The menu is also simple in terms of what to order. So the place is cute in the inside, not to much seating as it's a tiny building. Over all the menu doesn't have too many options and my drink was pretty bland tasting. I've never had a hard time drinking a drink till I had this one. It tasted like just water mostly. The boba was a great texture though. Service was kind. The ice cream taco was also disappointing as it was already breaking when we got it and it was also very bland tasting. It didn't have much sweetness to it at all . So unfortunately any say I'd recommend this place there's a lot better almost anywhere else. read more

Incredibly sweet milk tea! Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here. I've been to Bobatopia a few times and they've always been really fast with my orders and consistent in their quality. From a 'quality tea' standpoint, I can't say these are the best drinks, but if you're looking for a sweet treat, Bobatopia definitely has you covered. Their drinks are extremely sweet, so if you're not into overly sugary beverages then I'd recommend trying some of their ice cream treats. I've yet to try them but they look suuuper yummy and just as fun as their specialty drink menu which rotates out every so often. Give Bobatopia a shot if you're in the area. We stopped by Bobatopia and tried the Toro Milk Tea with boba and the Chai Milk Tea. The Toro was really good -- smooth, flavorful, and the boba had a great texture. The Chai, though, was a little too heavily spiced for our taste. It kind of overpowered the drink. The space itself is clean and simple, which we appreciated. The employee who helped us was super sweet, kind, and quick -- great service! We also grabbed some macarons, but they were a little hard and tasted like they weren't super fresh. Not bad, just not the best part of our visit. Overall, it's a nice spot with friendly staff and good drinks. we'd come back, but might skip the macarons next time. read more

My wife and I came here for the rolled ice cream since where we can from, they were few and far between. The ice cream was great! It was well made and presented. However, I'm not sure what happened, but halfway through, it was a bit bland. I don't know if the way they mixed these caused any loss in flavor. The drinks were a bit meh to me as well. Can't say I'd re-order them. The service here isn't much to write home about, but that's not a bad thing. Some people just prefer the no nonsense of: walk in, walk up to the counter and place your order. You pay and then sit down and wait for your order. The staff are masked, which I believe is a business preference, but a nice touch. The tables and chairs are what you'd expect it to be for a small boba and drinks place much like you'd see in others. If it weren't so far out of my way, I'd come here a lot more often. However being San Antonio and how large it is, there are other boba shops nearby. If I'm around here, I'd go again, but I wouldn't drive 20-30 mins from my house to say I'm dying to go here. read more

Stopped by Bobatopia since it's the closest bubble tea place to me. It's in a quiet location on the opposite side of the Forum shopping center, next to Game Over video games. It is quite nondescript - if you're not looking for it you won't know it's there. Their drink selection is awesome! I wish the staff would have gone more into detail about what the drinks are made of. Unfortunately they didn't have many dairy free options aside from the usual fruit tea or juice based drinks. I really enjoyed my drink! It was sweet, tangy, and the popping boba really hit the spot for me. My kids and I really like coming here. The rolled ice cream is great and the drinks that we have tried. My son and I didn't really care for the macarons (and they are rather expensive). Other than that it's a fun spot. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they offer complimentary coffee as you wait. My kids love the anime characters painted on the window. The place has a simple-bare interior. They offer varieties of desserts that really looks good. We tried the Milk Tea and Taiyaki with stuff inside. We didn't really like it. The Milk tea was sweet even adjusted and doesn't taste tea at all. While fish waffle or Taiyaki it wasn't as soft as we thought it would be. The food and drink can be better and even the interior. My boyfriend and I went here the other night and omg def coming back here soon. We bought the pina colada milk tea with boba and the mango green tea with boba. They were both amazing, but I was especially surprised by the milk tea. Pina colada isn't my fave flavor, but mixed with the milk tea was just amazing and refreshing. The mango tea was also delicious and fresh! The boba was perfect; I just wish they added more in the cup. The pina colada was a good amount, but I feel like there weren't a lot in my mango tea. By far one of the top boba tea places on par with KungFu Tea. Particularly the tea (haven't tried the desserts yet) because without the modifications (half sugar, less ice, etc), the drink came out delicious. Most boba teas elsewhere (around this location) the tea taste bland and "processed." I've tried many boba places especially when I used to live in Southern California (they're a dime a dozen there) & the quality of the tea is what I mainly look for. The Bobatopia drink (Wintermelon Tea) is my favorite and a hard flavor to come by in just tea form (its mostly Wintermelon milk tea) and my favorite even back then. And this one did not disappoint. This is a pretty cool little spot right off 35 by The Forum. My wife always sings It's praises, it's her favorite spot to get boba's! This was and is during covid so they do have precautions set up like plastic plexiglass between them and customers, no seating inside and they do have hand sanitizer available as well as curbside delivery. My wife and daughter are boba aficionados and there is a place less than 60 ft away from here that also serves boba but they love this one the best! They allow you to customize your drinks so a favorite is, blended matcha with boba vanilla at the bottom. as you can see from the menu they also have other wide varieties of treats like ice creams that are custom-made there with all kinds of creative fillings, styles and ways of being served. One of the best boba smoothies I've tasted. Not too sweet. You can customize whatever flavor you'd like, I went with the mango Pineapple boba with extra tapioca. Customer service was awesome. I especially liked how the cashier gave me extra smoothie since there was some left over. Most of the time the stores just throw it away. Edit: They need bigger straws. Opened about 4 months ago, I was excited to see a new search result on Yelp! On the way there I thought Yelp was taking me to the boba shop in the next plaza... And I was like noooo... Luckily I kept driving to the Chuy plaza. Tried their original milk tea and it had a floral taste that I wasn't expecting so overall the drink was creamy and sweet. Personally, I like my MT more tea taste and less sweet. The vibe and workers here definitely make me want to come back and find a favorite drink. It's not a large group sitting area... There are a few tables for 2. The menu doesn't cover all the drinks like he said they have green tea and can make a milk tea with it but it's not on the menu. For what it's worth, this boba shop is one of the few you will find between New Braunfels and San Antonio. It's located in a small plaza, and you won't miss it because 'Bobatopia' is green and red in Army Combat font (a bit odd haha). Anywho, the place it self is alright, not the most inviting place, there are chairs and tables to sit at, but overall the decor is bland and missing lots of love. The refrigerated area is not filled with cold drinks and the display is quite empty. It's missing the 'asian bona place' vibe if ya'll know what I mean. I went here specifically for the rolled ice cream, and I wasn't 1000% impressed. Rolled ice cream is supposed to be creamy when you bite into it, bit it was more so breaking into little pieces and lacked flavor. I ordered the taro ice cream, and the majority of the flavor was from the bananas. This is probably me being critical since I'm from Cali and know what delectable ice cream is. They also have a Tiger Sugar boba here, and it's not that great. Definitely not like the original Tiger Brown Sugar Boba place. The milk tea here tastes like the boba drinks you order at a Chinese restaurant that doesn't specialize in boba. For a dessert place, it's very off putting when you go to order and they ask if you really want the ice cream because it'll take a while. The workers are pretty much discouraging you from purchasing. We don't mind waiting, but there were 2 workers so I'm not understanding why one can't get started on orders. She literally stood there and watched as the guy placed our order then the next in line before she went to start orders. Also, we went in at 7:30. The store closes at 9. We ordered 5 rolled ice creams. They had to refund the customers after us because they realized they are out of all their supplies. One of the menus was off too. It's a hot summer day and with time to spare after lunch a friend and I decided to look up a place to have dessert. The first place to pop up was Bobatopia. It's located in a little strip near Pluckers. This was my first time at Bobatopia and we were very impressed with the atmosphere and the variety of items they had to select from. We decided to try out the rolled ice cream. The ice cream was creamy and we were able to get three toppings and a sauce. A great stop on a hot day like today.
