Incredibly sweet milk tea! Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here. I've been to Bobatopia a few times and they've always been really fast with my orders and consistent in their quality. From a 'quality tea' standpoint, I can't say these are the best drinks, but if you're looking for a sweet treat, Bobatopia definitely has you covered. Their drinks are extremely sweet, so if you're not into overly sugary beverages then I'd recommend trying some of their ice cream treats. I've yet to try them but they look suuuper yummy and just as fun as their specialty drink menu which rotates out every so often. Give Bobatopia a shot if you're in the area. It'll be a sugary sweet experience!

We stopped by Bobatopia and tried the Toro Milk Tea with boba and the Chai Milk Tea. The Toro was really good -- smooth, flavorful, and the boba had a great texture. The Chai, though, was a little too heavily spiced for our taste. It kind of overpowered the drink. The space itself is clean and simple, which we appreciated. The employee who helped us was super sweet, kind, and quick -- great service! We also grabbed some macarons, but they were a little hard and tasted like they weren't super fresh. Not bad, just not the best part of our visit. Overall, it's a nice spot with friendly staff and good drinks. we'd come back, but might skip the macarons next time.

Everything was made fresh! The ice cream wasn't too sweet, and the toppings were awesome! Cool Asian style ice cream roll scene, was able to try things that we have never had before, really good!

This was delicious. It was our first time trying this place and we loved our drink. I can't wait to go back and try the Kryptonite . I would have gotten both but this size was perfect . The staff was friendly and our Sri is came out quickly. The store is nice and clean .

My wife and I came here for the rolled ice cream since where we can from, they were few and far between. The ice cream was great! It was well made and presented. However, I'm not sure what happened, but halfway through, it was a bit bland. I don't know if the way they mixed these caused any loss in flavor. The drinks were a bit meh to me as well. Can't say I'd re-order them. The service here isn't much to write home about, but that's not a bad thing. Some people just prefer the no nonsense of: walk in, walk up to the counter and place your order. You pay and then sit down and wait for your order. The staff are masked, which I believe is a business preference, but a nice touch. The tables and chairs are what you'd expect it to be for a small boba and drinks place much like you'd see in others. If it weren't so far out of my way, I'd come here a lot more often. However being San Antonio and how large it is, there are other boba shops nearby. If I'm around here, I'd go again, but I wouldn't drive 20-30 mins from my house to say I'm dying to go here.

Stopped by Bobatopia since it's the closest bubble tea place to me. It's in a quiet location on the opposite side of the Forum shopping center, next to Game Over video games. It is quite nondescript - if you're not looking for it you won't know it's there. Their drink selection is awesome! I wish the staff would have gone more into detail about what the drinks are made of. Unfortunately they didn't have many dairy free options aside from the usual fruit tea or juice based drinks. I really enjoyed my drink! It was sweet, tangy, and the popping boba really hit the spot for me. I'll be back to try something new but I hope that they'll expand to dairy free smoothies and milk teas!

My kids and I really like coming here. The rolled ice cream is great and the drinks that we have tried. My son and I didn't really care for the macarons (and they are rather expensive). Other than that it's a fun spot. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they offer complimentary coffee as you wait. My kids love the anime characters painted on the window. Kinda funny the receipt says "macaroon" which is a different cookie altogether.

The place has a simple-bare interior. They offer varieties of desserts that really looks good. We tried the Milk Tea and Taiyaki with stuff inside. We didn't really like it. The Milk tea was sweet even adjusted and doesn't taste tea at all. While fish waffle or Taiyaki it wasn't as soft as we thought it would be. The food and drink can be better and even the interior. The service was nice tho, they have a really good staff.

My boyfriend and I went here the other night and omg def coming back here soon. We bought the pina colada milk tea with boba and the mango green tea with boba. They were both amazing, but I was especially surprised by the milk tea. Pina colada isn't my fave flavor, but mixed with the milk tea was just amazing and refreshing. The mango tea was also delicious and fresh! The boba was perfect; I just wish they added more in the cup. The pina colada was a good amount, but I feel like there weren't a lot in my mango tea. The service was so nice and very quick. The rest of the menu looks delicious: I can't wait to come back to try the ice cream!! Update: tried the ice cream taco and it was delicious. They don't have the donut sandwich anymore.

Cute place with friendly staff and a wide variety of smoothies, boba tea, and rolled ice cream. Several varieties of boba and jellies to choose from to add to to your drinks. I went with the Thai Milk Tea with original boba, and was very satisfied!

I wasn't impressed. First off, the only words the cashier uttered was my total. No greeting, no thank you- just "$5.34". I tried the brown sugar and caramel milk tea and was not able finish it. It was very sweet and milk tea was not rich enough. It tasted watered down and light. Maybe some of the other items are better but what I had was not worth a trip back.

Nice little boba shop that offer a lot of varieties from boba , rolled ice cream to tea. I originally went for boba after finding this place from google. But instead ended up with tea. I got the "Havana tea" Friendly service, interior might need a little fixing just like fresh paint.

Staff is friendly given the situation, the only main issue I have is that since this business is only offering take out, they totally lack take out containers. If you get an ice cream taco you will get a paper plate and if you have no help in your vehicle, you will get ice cream all over. If you are planning on going to get ice cream make sure you take some help. If you go during the late hours before closing it can get a little busy, this in turn will require the staff to go prepare food and run the register cross contaminating as they work, while the staff wears gloves, they use the glove to touch everything which makes wearing gloves useless. read more

We've been here twice on our way to Dallas and this place didn't disappoint. The last time we came, it took some time to get our drinks (I'd say close to 20 minutes) so that wasn't too great. But nonetheless, their original milk tea meets my standards. It's true to flavor and the boba itself isn't super chewy. Their fruity drinks are also pretty good (sweeter than I prefer). I think they had just 2-3 people making everyone's drinks so they worked as quickly as they could. If you're driving by, check out this spot but be prepared to wait for your drink (especially if it's a weekend). read more

So disappointed today I can't believe it crossed my mind to come here. Obviously the other boba tea lounge was closed which is the reason I came in the first place anyways the guy that helped me super rude no customer service skills at all and second of all one of my boba milk teas didn't taste like nothing very disappointed will never return and recommend no one to come here ever again. read more

What more can I say about Bobatopia? Recently opened, but the true essence of a tea/dessert shop is exemplified here. The donut sandwich, waffle cone, rolled ice cream are especially delectable, with a great ratio of ice cream to toppings. I suggest getting the rolled ice cream if you're a newcomer, which is made fresh in front of you!!!! Can't wait to see the friendly faces again at BOBATOPIA!!!!!! This is either my 5th or 6th day in a row coming to this place. I've tried the Thai Tea (amazing), Monkey King Smoothie (amazing), Mango Tango Smoothie (amazing), Taro Milk Tea (amazing), and I am currently waiting on the Taro Coconut Smoothie. Pretty happy to have a rolled dessert place near my parents house. Their is already a boba tea place down the road but they don't sell rolled ice cream. Went today with my mom and the inside was nice, bright and clean. The staff was very nice and it looks like they're still in the new opening stages. I ordered a Honeydew milk tea and it was good. I guess I'm used to ordering one and the tapioca balls are included here it's 50cents extra which is fine. I'll come back again and get some rolled ice cream for sure! read more

They didn't have 3/4 of the menu and the only choice we had was boba or ice cream tacos. Have to say the ice cream tacos were terrible so definitely wish we had gone with the boba. Hopefully you can try something else. read more

We are new to the area, and where we come from there's a large Asian population... hence we are used to a certain standard. The concept is weird to me because the desserts that I saw don't seem to go with boba. They just look like sugar pellets on sugar carbs with sugar crystals all over. Haha. The boba was ok. They make their stuff WAYYYY too sweet. I got the tiger tea and it was so sweet it was a sickening taste, i couldn't even drink it and it was $6. Once after i had gotten their vietnamese coffee in hopes that it wouldn't be as bad, but i was mistaken, it was 30% sugar syrup at the bottom and the coffee was bitter and bad tasting. I prefer to go down the hill to Boba Tea Lounge as I've never had these problems with their drinks. read more

I love the place. Yesterday was my first time trying their rolled ice cream. And it was awesome. The only thing that I suggest is that you have your mind made up when you get there. My mom and I stopped by to check this place out and it was absolutely wonderful! The customer service was greatly done by Aaron I believe. He showed us the quality ingredients and the process that makes everything there so special. He didn't mind explaining all the flavors and made the entire experience really great. I also loved that they are continuing to add new flavors and tasty treats. I'm definitely bringing friends here in the future! The Tiger Milk Tea in particular was amazing, and if you like a sweet Carmel flavor, it's right for you! read more

Came in to try BOBATOPIA after reading the good reviews about it. Ordered a regular milk tea drink and only after a few sips, I realized that the only reason why my drink was almost filled to the top was because of the ridiculous amount of ice they placed in my cup to create the illusion that you were getting a full cup of your drink. Im not willing to dish out a couple of dollars for 5 sips of tea and a cup full of ice. I'm not sure if that's a regular occurrence in this establishment, I truly do hope that's not the case. read more

My family tried different things on the menu and everyone were happy with their choices of freshly brewed coffee, teas and real creamy ice cream made with fresh fruits. I had the Royal tea- pleasantly surprise with the layers of flavor in one drink- a must try! Mango rolled ice cream- just the right amount of sweetness and chunks of mangoes and mochi (you get to pick the toppings). Since I like bobas- the chewy waffle cone was a delight. Will go back for more. The staff are welcoming and the place is clean and airy. read more

Heard some good things about the place so I came here to try it out. Ordered the avocado smoothies and it was underwhelming. It tasted powdery and didn't taste like the real avocado smoothies that I used to have in California. Would not recommended this place. Also, seeing that the owner deliberately wrote several 5 star reviews for his own place (got removed by Yelp) makes me wonder about the honesty of his business and his questionable business practice. read more

This place is amazing!! The staff, the creativity and the quality they use in their products are great! It's clean and very simple a perfect place for deserts for the family after dinner! Tbh, this place can't beat others boba tea in town. Tried their avocado smoothie and it was bad. Not only it's the powder drink but also it didn't taste like avocado. Their matcha is even worst. First is the color; no matcha had like brown color. Second, drink tasted badly. Service is nicely but drinks are just horrible bad. read more

I wish they didnt because i would buy every weekend, personally i think $8 for a sandwich is pretty steep, but they dont have any competition in that area so people are going to pay that price if they are craving it and they are good for what is available in san antonio.

I stopped by Y Bubble later in the evening about an hour before close for a pick me up and the place was pretty quiet. A few customers came to pick up orders, but otherwise it was just me in store. The place was extra clean with board games in one corner for customers to play, and the barista was pretty quick with my order. My original order was a Matcha Jasmine Milk Tea with Tapioca Boba and Almond Milk, but after I was rung up and the barista went back to make the drink itself, she informed me that they were out of Almond Milk but could do Coconut instead. Since I'd paid the extra amount for a dairy replacement, I agreed. The resulting drink was interesting to say the least. Had the drink been a plain matcha milk tea with coconut milk or a matcha jasmine with a milk substitute that didn't have such a strong flavor of its own it would have been fine, but the three bold flavors together in one drink were super confusing. It was tropical with floral notes that didn't pair well with coconut, and the matcha just didn't have a chance to shine between the two. Not to mention that the mixed flavor profile was so muddled I could not discern if the boba was made in a brown sugar or honey syrup; the taste was just completely lost. The drink altogether was fine, but this is a combination I can't say I'd order again. Given the hiccup in the visit, I know need to give this location another try. A place being out of a certain ingredient for the day isn't a bad thing, but in this particular instance it made a weird enough drink that lessened the overall experience.
