I hate to be the person who criticizes a restaurant, but today it is warranted. We went for lunch. We waited an HOUR for endless soup and salad. We were only served one of each, no endless. Our server forgot about us. Did not refill our drinks and it wasn't until I spoke with someone about our service and lack of food did our food finally come. It was soup and salad. We have been to 8 of BJ's beer dinners, so we are not exactly new to how these events work. We attend almost every one. Apparently, though, this location decided to reinvent the rules. The host repeatedly told everyone that refills were available on the featured beers that were on tap. That also happens to be exactly how every previous beer dinner we attended worked. So naturally, when I asked for a refill, I was told there were no refills. Why? "Corporate policy." Interesting. Since that had never been the policy before, I called two other BJ's locations within about 75 miles. Both managers told me they were unaware of this mysterious corporate policy. That is when things really became impressive. Instead of simply saying, "There may have been some confusion," the manager came over and confronted me in front of several other customers. She told me she did not appreciate me questioning her integrity and that she did not care what other BJ's locations were doing. For the record, I was questioning the policy, not launching a Congressional investigation into her integrity. Then came the best part. She informed me that I was already getting approximately 48 ounces of "strong beer" and that was "enough" for me. I did not realize I had ordered the Beer Dinner With Complimentary Life Coaching Package. So I asked a pretty simple question: If I sat down in the restaurant and ordered three 22-ounce beers, would that be a problem? Apparently that question was much harder to answer. She froze, turned around, and walked away. Meanwhile, several other people attending the exact same dinner ordered additional beers, and somehow the Great Beer Consumption Emergency did not apply to them. Amazing how that works. This really was not about getting one more beer. It was about being told one thing by the host, being told the exact opposite by management, and then being spoken to like a child for pointing out that the explanation made absolutely no sense. If the policy changed, fine. Say the policy changed. If the host gave everyone incorrect information, fine. Correct the mistake. But inventing a "corporate policy," getting offended when someone verifies it, and then deciding how much beer an adult customer has had "enough" of is an absolutely bizarre way to handle customer service. After 8 beer dinners, this was easily the worst experience we have had at any BJ's. The food was not the problem. The beer was not the problem. The manager was the problem. We have always enjoyed these events, but after this experience, I would absolutely choose another BJ's location before coming back to this one. read more

Disappointing. First time I went there it was slow, Sat at the bar with only one other person and waited,... And waited,... And waited. Finally after 20 minutes I left, no one even acknowledged that I was there. Our server took our order drink and returned within a couple minutes. The wife ordered the Top Shelf Margarita and was not disappointed... She even got a Little buzz off of it, glad I was driving. The wife ordered the Mediterranean tacos, she said they were very tasty. I had Ahi Tuna salad, it had the perfect amount of balsamic vinaigrette dressing and little spots of cream wasabi on the side of the plate to add to the tasty tuna. I was impressed! My expectations weren't too high buy I really enjoyed everything we had. After ordering the calamari as our appetizer, the waitress came back to let us know they were out. We tried the fried Mac n cheese balls wotj couscous instead. They were tasty! (Unfortunately, the waitress forgot to remove the calamari charge on the bill. She did once I pointed it out.) The steak salad was really good. It was paired perfectly with Bleu cheese. The garlic sauce with the shrimp was delicious! It was so good with the steak and mashed potatoes too! My Arnold Palmer was so refreshing and the perfect ratio. The blue raspberry was a bit sweet but the waitress gave us a small cup of Starry to help. It was much better after that! Food is usually always decent, but my husband's chicken Alfredo was not good last night. We went here with a group of friends last night who mostly all seemed to like their food. Our service was decent, but I personally was very disappointed. What I ordered was the soup and salad bread bowl meal, and my whole meal came out literally 40 minutes before the rest of the table. At first I was going to just eat my salad, but I am even a slow eater and ended up eating my whole meal before everyone else even got their food. I didn't want my soup to get cold. Today we had BJ's catered for lunch at a work event and overall it was really great! We were able to place our orders very easily ahead of time and everything came as it was supposed to. I ordered the Sal's brew house chicken which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had a creamy lemon sauce on everything. It was pretty good and probably would have been even better if I were to have eaten it at the restaurant. My meal also came with a very large side salad and cookie and both were great. Overall BJs is a good spot with excellent customer service, prices are a little higher than I like though. Always nice inside with TVs and the bar. I got the soup and salad combo with clam chowder and Caesar salad, and a pomegranate margarita. My husband had a spicy mango margarita and lemon pepper wings and french fries. My mom and I used to come to BJs all the time years ago, it was our first time back.. not sure if it's because we came on a weekday near closing time but the quality of the food was very poorly put together and poorly presented. Looked as though the plates have been sitting under the warmer for too long so everything shrunk down. Nothing matched up to what was advertised on the menu. I got the avocado egg rolls and the avocado was really brown and the wrapping looked like someone wrapped them in a hurry. Parts of it were burnt and they tasted horrible. The server was a nice guy but took 11 minutes to order our drinks, another 15 minutes to get our drinks to us and took 25 minutes to take our food order. My mom literally timed each time he came to our table. Sangria was the only good thing about tonight... not sure if I'll ever come back here or recommend come to this location. My wife and I spent all night sick from food poisoning. We don't like bj's because when we went to the new Braunfels location last they had been closed by the health department and had an exterminator treating a roach infestation.
