    Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich

The croissant they give for free is to die for. Sooo tasty I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and it was pretty good. The fries were great. The waitress i had came and visited my table several times. She was awesome and patient with me even though i was on the phone almost the entire time i was there. All the food came out super fast. The vibe inside the restaurant is perfect for a nice lunch. I would have liked to see some healthier options on the menu. Mostly a lot of fried foods. But overall it was pretty good.

While on vacation we stopped in and tried Cheddars scratch kitchen. It is now one of our favorites and we will be stopping here every time we come to town! Food and drinks were amazing. Staff was super friendly. Nice clean atmosphere. Always busy but service was still fast. The queso fries were the greatest thing I've tasted in a long time!

Regular American fare, burgers, steak, ribs and such. Nice atmosphere and great servers. My servers made sure my steak was cooked too order (it was not rare). They fired up another one and got me a wonderful steak.

We (and I mean my wife) decided this is where we going to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. I was concerned because of all the previous reviews I have seen that brought up the long wait lines and little food available. Well, I have to confess things have definitely even out. There was no wait for a table and the server was right there when we sat down. I checked out the Chicken Tender Platter with Southern Green Beans and Red Beans & Rice. Did I mention I asked for the tenders be smothered in Hot Honey. There was a decent amount of tenders with a decent amount of crunch to them. Did I forget the part about the HOT Honey? I've had hot honey before, this was different. Did I mention the HOT part? I learned my stomach doesn't like that kind of HOT anymore. Probably let me know about it for the rest of tonight. Still, the place is worth a return trip, but I'll order something milder.

We had an excellent visit at Cheddar's and are looking forward to more in the future! The place is big, like REALLY big, so don't let a lot of cars in the parking lot fool you. They also have an online wait list for the days and times they get busier so that is a viable option. This visit we tried several items. First was the chicken strips. Fresh, hand breaded, very tasty. They come in several flavors and we picked the original, plain tenders. The fries were basic but good. Second, we tried the Monte Cristo sandwich. Breaded and crunchy with the sweet / savory mix that you should expect. The sandwich wasn't greasy and the wife was please with her choice. I opted for the New Orleans pasta and was pleasantly surprised at the decent heat level of the dish. There was a lot of chicken, a good amount of sausage, and a few shrimp. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. Dishes take a few minutes to prepare and your visit won't be as "fast" as other places. Good food takes time and preparation.

I've visited Cheddar's when I was in the mid-west on a business trip to a very large retailer. My Nephew was there on a basketball scholarship so I offered to take him to dinner and he suggested Cheddar's. I remember it being quite good and was excited to try it again. This was opening night so I'm going to give them a little leeway as they work out some of the nuances. We started with the honey butter croissants, like crack, the first ones are free, and they were excellent. Super fresh and flaky, warm with sweet honey butter on top. You can order extra for $1.99. 5/5 I ordered the sirloin steak and ribs, medium rare as I expected them to over cook it a bit which they did. It was more on the medium to MW side. The flavor was good if not a bit over spiced. 4/5 for the steak. The ribs were really good, meaty, and fall off the bone, but still tender and juicy. 5/5 I ordered a side of broccoli which were good and substituted my second side as an upgrade to a Caesar salad. The salad never came and when I mentioned it they just said sorry it's not the first time today it's happened. They asked if I wanted to have it brought out, but we were done eating by this time so I declined. They should have at least offered to remove the up charge and or a free dessert or something but they didn't. It was only a dollar, but I did ask them to take it off the bill. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich which she really liked. 5/5 There was a two hour wait so we decided to eat at the bar and it took about 20 minutes to find an open spot. The bar tender and training managers were really nice.

Third time trying to get in, first two attempts gave up after excessive wait times. The online wait list and check-in is convenient, and it's easy to cancel! (Attempt 1 check in at 3:27, gave up at left at 5:40. Attempt 2 online wait list at 4:24, and when they said at 5:17 it would be another two hours we took our name off and left.) Tonight online wait list at 7:14 pm, got table at 8:02, got our food at 9:27. Casual atmosphere, peaceful fish tank to keep you calm while you wait in the crowded (often standing-room-only) holding area/lobby. Little frustrating that although we were ready to order, our server would only do drinks the first pass and the second pass was to tell us she'd be back after she checked her other tables, third pass was to drop off croissants and say she'd be back. By the time she returned to take our order we'd been seated 28 minutes already. Food was mixed for us this visit. They brought out croissants with a fancy splash of 'honey butter' sauce. They were nice and flaky, but not buttery flaky. Flavor was nice, especially with the honey butter sauce, but incredibly dry. Left me wishing for a side of butter, or honey butter... and begging our server for a drink refill (which eventually came). Hubs ordered the full rack of ribs, which was huge and didn't even fit on the plate! But when he had only eaten three bones by the end of the meal I asked how it was, as a reply he cut me a piece... no flavor and a weird texture almost like they'd been pressure-cooked, and they were soooo dry I literally couldn't swallow. I didn't know ribs could be fall-off-the-bone AND that dry. His sides were corn-OFF-the-cob (tasty but salty) and Cesar salad (upgrade charge). I loved the salad! Perfect dressing, shaved cheese, great croutons. I'll definitely order that myself from now on. I got the blackened tilapia and shrimp with garlic cheddar sauce, Southern style green beans, and Idaho mash. My entire meal was EXCELLENT! Very pleased. I think the green beans were my favorite side of the evening. Hopefully the excessive waits calm down once they're no longer the new hot location. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu. The carrot cake looked amazing.

I came here with a group of girls at 6:00 on a Friday night. The wait time was long and there were tons of people waiting to eat. One of my friends was smart enough to get us on the call ahead list so we only waited max 15 minutes. Definitely a life saver because we would have been waiting all night! For the food.. I loved the complimentary honey butter scones. I would have eaten them all if I didn't have to share! I love that you can take some home for $1.59 each as well. Our orders were taken quick and the service was great. Some of the items were off the order because of how busy they were so I ordered a steak. I asked for it well done and it was ....very well done. It was hard to eat but maybe that's my fault... I asked for a side of broccoli cheese casserole and that was good and the green beans were okay. My friends meals looked better than mine. If I could describe this place I would consider it a high-end Applebees. Everything was good but not the most amazing things I've ever had. I would definitely go here again to try their monte cristo!

Finally stopped by Cheddar's to give it a try. Not sure why people are going so nuts for it, it's pretty much the same as Chili's or Denny's. I will say our service was fantastic though, I was so impressed with that. I had the Country Fried Chicken. The chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and our server noticed and got me another one even though I wasn't complaining to her and was just going to eat only the sides. I didn't really like the replacement although I very much appreciate the customer service I experienced. My husband got the chicken tenders and shrimp and he liked it.

We tried to eat here a few months earlier, but didn't want to wait the 60 minutes. We tried again and were glad we did. Highlights: Cheese Curds, ranch dressing on the salad, chicken pot pie and Monte Cristo. Service was great - Rita was our server and was very attentive and kept our waters full. We will be back.

I started with the Caesar salad, which was really tasty. The dressing tasted homemade and had a nice balance of flavors--definitely one of the better Caesars I've had lately. For my main, I went with the Wagyu. The steak itself was good quality, but I was genuinely surprised to see it topped with sour cream. I'm not a fan of sour cream on steak at all, so that was a miss for me. Next time I'll make sure to ask them to hold it. The wine list had some nice options. I ordered the Troublemake by Austin and it was very tasty--smooth and paired well with the meal. The vibe is nice and the food comes out timely, but the tables are pretty close together. It almost feels like you're sharing dinner with the people next to you. Service was fine and friendly, but for a place that's considered one of the best in Ogden, I expected it to be a little more polished. I'm probably a bit spoiled coming from Las Vegas where the fine dining scene is dialed in, but still. All in all, I'd go back for the salad and wine, and I'd just customize my entrée a little more. Good spot if you're in the area!

Our absolute favorite thing on the menu was the Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast. It was two thick pieces of cream-cheese stuffed French toast topped with apples, caramel, crumble, and whipped cream, and you actually got two of those pieces per order, plus bacon and eggs. It was easily one of the best breakfast plates in Ogden and the main reason we kept coming back. Yesterday we came in and found out they completely removed it from the menu. Huge disappointment right out of the gate. They still have mixed berry, banana caramel, and peach versions. I can't eat the berry because of an allergy, and we've had the peach before and didn't care for it, so we tried the banana caramel crunch instead. Service was slower than usual. There's a help-wanted sign when you walk in and it looked like a new employee was being trained, so that part was understandable. What wasn't understandable was when the food showed up. The portion has been cut in half. What used to be two stuffed French toast pieces per order is now only one, but the price is the same. My wife and I have both had weight-loss surgery, so we're definitely not people who need massive portions. But cutting the plate by 50% while charging the same price just feels like a bad move. Even though we split meals we made it up by tipping are wait staff, the difference as if we would have ordered two meals, Removing a customer favorite and shrinking portions at the same time is a good way to lose longtime customers. Cute little diner, just hope the owners can rethink this issue. All things change and not always for the good. We used to recommend No Frills to everyone. We tucked in for a late-lunch-early-dinner of their all-day breakfast and were won over. Opened last year-ish in a former Village Inn, you might say the 80s-teal-rose-and-oak vibe is wholly the wrong kind of texture for a breakfast-forward comfort food diner but John who enthusiastically greeted us in his plaid flat cap and kilt quickly overcame the tired oeuvre. His personality sparkled like the late-season Valentines Christmas tree in the lobby. Our waitress wasn't quite so vivacious, but she still made great suggestions and stayed attentive throughout our meal. The mindfulness of texture on the food (even if not the decor) took this, for us, a step above other local spots in the genre like Jeremiah's or Black Bear: the meat and onions were well seasoned and juicy; eggs almost perfect; the potatoes crisp and moist; the scone crispy, while not too thick and bready-- with plenty of butter and jam. I'd love to be back another time to try the burgers, Reuben, cheesesteak, or monte cristo (and tater tots are an option instead of fries!!). Yet with the early closing time and no beer on draft (only domestic megabrew bottles), it's less appealing for us as an evening haunt, notwithstanding attractiveness for pub grub and much quieter for a chat than a sports bar. And not knowing their coffee service qualities it may not draw us in for breakfast-time breakfast. But I can definitely see us visiting again for lunch.

He's been wanting me to try the sandwiches on the truck but as time got away from us, the truck was closed for the day but this sister spot was open for an hour more. We headed to Newgate mall and walked inside the Quilted Bear. Tucked away in a corner is Mama's Toasted Cheeser, complete with a large counter and sizable seating area. "Mama" met us at the counter as I perused the expansive menu. I've been to grilled cheese restaurants and food trucks but none of those compared to the variety of offerings that she had. From a classic grilled cheese sandwich to the additions of ham, bacon, turkey, crab, chicken and ranch, pickles, jalapeño, pepperoni and pizza sauce, and roast beef and bbq sauce were on the menu. But then there were also 23 "specialty" Cheeser options including peanut butter, hawaiian, gyro, taco, spinach and artichoke, and ravioli grilled cheese sandwiches?!?! I was torn between the carne asada, philly cheesesteak, and pork and mac. I asked "Mama" and she said that a fan favorite was the pork mac and so I ordered that. I've had macaroni and cheese and pulled pork on a grilled cheese sandwich before which was unsuccessful. I had high hopes that this place would be able to pull it off. We ordered our sandwiches and made them combos, which included mini fries, drink, and cookies for $4. I must say I was surprised to see packaged cookies as I was thinking that fresh cookies would be included. But the amount of fries more than made up for that. If what we had was the mini fry size, I have no idea how large the other sizes are! We got our meals to go and added a little dessert - triple chocolate cheesecake and bread pudding - which "Mama" told us she got from a local bakery. My sandwich was filled with pork and the macaroni and cheese was spilling out. There was no easy way to eat it as a handheld sandwich so I resorted to using a fork and knife. Kudos to this place for using bread that held up and didn't become soggy. It had a nice crunch to it and the sprinkled parmesan on top was a nice touch. The sandwich was very good. What impressed me most was that while the macaroni and cheese and bbq pulled pork were plentiful, there was no confusion about this being a grilled cheese sandwich. The addition of three cheeses ensured a great "cheese pull". The fries seemed undercooked, limp, and a little too greasy for me. I love a great grilled cheese sandwich and Mama's Toasted Cheeser definitely understands the art of making one. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their offerings.

I cannot believe that I had completely spaced this place off my conscience! I knew it definitely…read moresounded familiar but I should have "Yelped" it prior to ordering, though it definitely wasn't as bad as the first time. Still needs major improvement though. I ordered the New York Steak which also includes two sides. I had to pay an additional fee to upgrade my steak to 12 oz (definitely would not have been an issue had the restaurant followed instructions! -sigh-). I explicitly requested my steak be WELL DONE with absolutely no pink meat whatsoever. And whaddya know? The 12 oz steak arrived, grilled to perfection on the outside, with nothing but pink, raw (and raw tasting) meat on the inside. Ugh. This steak had so much potential and could have easily been a five star review. It was juicy and tender, but raw. Then, I'm reading all these reviews on here stating people wanted a medium rare and how overcooked and dry their steaks were. Do the chef's all have dyslexia or something? Because what other's received is exactly how I wanted mine done (minus the dryness of course..wink, wink). Anyways, chopped it all up and re-fired on the stove with a little butter spray as pink meat makes me violently ill. It worked out in the end, but the steak definitely wasn't flavorful. However, it became edible, though I should not have to take the time because my bank account was hurting me after this purchase. A steakhouse chef cannot actually cook a WELL DONE steak or follow explicit "no pink meat" instructions? Something seriously is wrong there. Anyways, my two sides were sauteed mushrooms (just little button brown is what you receive with a small amount of unflavored sauce at the bottom). Once again, had to "doctor " those up to make them edible as well. At least those were in their own separate container with a secure lid for the drive home as I had requested that ALL sides be in their own separate containers to prevent cross contamination. My second side that I requested was the Parmesan tomato. Basically it's a full tomato cut into two halves with melted cheese and seasoning on top. The tomato was very ripe, juicy , and fresh tasting. The issue was, that when you took a bite all that cheese and seasoning fell off of it completely. Not only that, but the two tomato halves were in the same container as the steak. Yuck! And remember I requested it all be separate from each other. The tomatoes had the fat/grease steak taste and pretty much ruined the value and taste of them. There were absolutely zero condiments, utensils, or napkins given for the "to go" order which I found to be a bit cheap and bizarre considering the cost of the meal, 20% tip, etc. This restaurant DOES have potential with at least what I just recently tried. Sounds like the employees and management don't care too much though for customer service or reading comprehension. Could have been five stars. Guess they all just don't care too much over at this place.
