Great friends Philip & Marita treated us to lunch at Cheddars. As we entered the restaurant the hostess said "Try our Spinach dip and chips...it is the best" We had the spinach dip...she was right...it is the best. And the complimentary crescent rolls are yummy! Discovered that they have an excellent bar to the side which would be great for drinks with friends. The cocktail menu was awesome. We started with a Painkiller and a Coconut Pineapple Mule. This will be the first and last time I patronize this place. I don't don't know what happened today but it just didn't go well at all. I went to enjoy a nice birthday dinner. Instead, I had a terrible experience. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta, and it was no flavor at all. It was lukewarm. It tasted like they just mix some marinara with a little bit of cream and called the Cajun. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for the country fried chicken, I was brought country fried steak instead. Instead of going through the motions of waiting another 25 minutes for another plate. I just accepted the steak and Man was just a disappointment. There was about an inch and a half of breading with a quarter of an inch of steak. The highlight of the mail was the sweet tea that by the time I got ready to eat, I was full off of three of those. I wish they had warned there was hard boiled egg crushed in it, would have asked not to include it. Before I had 2 bites of salad the pot pie came, steaming hot! I waited awhile to try it, it was not pie, but soup, I was surprised they gave me a soup spoon on the plate, but removing the crust made it obvious! Update 05/14/21: Came back to give a the restaurant a second try. I got the country fried steak and it was very good. I enjoyed it a lot more than the Monte Cristo sandwich that I got last time. The country fried steak was a good size, the crust was crispy, and it even topped a piece of Texas toast. The mashed potatoes were creamy and well seasoned. The green beans were good but a little sweet for me. Also the temperature inside the restaurant was much warmer than last time. I would up my review to 3.5 stars instead of 4, but since Yelp doesn't have half stars my review remains at 3 because the server accidentally touched my food when she placed it down, and then later she stared at our tabletop check out screen to see how much we were tipping her when we were paying. read more

Well, it finally happened. We went to Cheddars. Totally unplanned, we stopped in at a little after 1pm on Friday. After a quick 20 minute wait, we were ushered to a lovely table at the back of the center dining room where we could here all the dishes be dropped in the kitchen but couldn't see anything. Our server got our drink order and returned quickly and took our order. My wife loved the sammich, the twins loved their pasta dishes and my Smokehouse burger was completely uninspired. I had higher expectations that a burger listed as having BBQ sauce on it would have, I dunno...BBQ sauce on it. It was wiped with sauce, I think. Wiped off. I'm glad everyone liked their food. The Monte was pretty tasty (I tried a bite) and the fries were okay. I snuck a fork full of the Alfredo dish and I wish I had ordered that! Visited on a Sunday around 11:30 after church for brunch. No brunch menu, but food choices were varied, mostly geared towards lunch. We chose the chicken pot pie with Cheddar Cheese Casserole side and Monte Cristo with Southern Green Beans side. Both were tasty and worth having again. The fried oil on the Monte Cristo did over power the taste for me a little bit, but the raspberry sauce made up for it. The chicken pot pie had a buttery crossaint crust and a good mix of chicken and classic veges. The raspberry and strawberry lemonades both had the right mix of sweet and sour, but the mimosa lacked a higher quality champagne and OJ mix that maxes the Sunday drink a classic. I do love cheese and like cheddar and so in my mind this was going to be a restaurant that offers cheese type of dishes, sadly no it was not. They are doing a great job in keeping safe with this the virus. The capacity is kept low. You wait outside and the staff spaces you out. Only every other table is open and the staff wears masks. The waitress brought us this sweet croissants. They are out of the world. I think they are the best thing I ever tasted in croissants. They have something sweet on top. The croissount itself was flaky and warm. It was perfect. I ordered the Monte Cristo. I was happy to see this in the menu. This is a sandwich you normally don't see. It came with French fries. The fries were good tasted fresh. Tje sandwich cane with a berry sauce. I was happy that sauce always complements the sandwich. The sandwich was deep fried with a nice crunchy coating. We started with ordering our drinks and the waiter was prompt in bringing us their signature warm buttered croissant. That was pretty darn good. An appetizer and kinda dessert. My wife ordered the pecan chicken salad and it was delicious. I ordered the 6oz sirloin and loaded baked potato. I made the mistake of ordering it well done. It came out extra well done and very tough. Ironic because i usually like steak like that but this was extra tough like flattened steak. It was still tasty because of the seasoning. This occurred consistently throughout their menu with nearly every item. To improve this establishment's accessibility to individuals with celiac, I recommend incorporating true gluten free alternatives to pastas, breads, and sauces which have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Overall, the service and atmosphere were fantastic, despite the false advertising. Ribs was tough enough to knock a tree down, and RAW in the middle. Went to bathroom and had to walk through Bar to get to it which I don't mind. Noticed trash all over floor in bar area. Employees working in the bar area wasn't cleaning, just talking. Bathroom was Trashed! I should have checked this first!! They forgot to take off the 1st 2dinners so another wait for this! I've been here twice and decided after the second time on Monday, March 13th, at 5 pm to complete my review. The first time the food and service were good, but this time both fell so far from the mark it was ridiculous. To start off my family walks in to a hostess (male) that hardly looked up when asking how many were in our party. Then the menus were so filthy we were disgusted. As we walked to the table our feet were sticking to the floors. The server approached the table looking slovenly with a bent nose ring and took our drink order, but took ten minutes to bring the drinks, as she had a larger table near by. The silverware and tiny plates for the croissants were filthy. We placed our order which arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but my wife's chicken sandwich had no mayo, the garlic bread under my son's fried chicken was only toasted on one side and my corn (inedible) had enough salt in it to increase a person's blood pressure to a dangerous level. All in all, Cheddars turned out to be pretty crappy and someone should be fired. No really- Fire someone! Workers want more money, but provide less service, well, I will no longer patronize these places and encourage everyone to not tip for poor service. read more

The hostess told us it would be about 15 minutes, but we were seated sooner than that. The meal came before the appetizer and we asked them to just cancel the appetizer. Instead, the waitress brought us a cheese dip appetizer and said it was on the house. I had ordered spinach dip, but it was loud in there and maybe she misheard me. The burger and fries were decent and filling. The salmon was the same, though a little dry. the green beans were under cooked. The server did a nice job, but the food was basically average.
