My husband and I have been here 3 times..all spread out 1st our food wasn't great but service was good. Second time we ordered nachos and 3 chicken strip meals...about 15 minutes AFTER we ordered a couple sat down next to us and they got their lobster dishes before us...in all we waited 45 minutes after we ordered our food still nothing...waitress said that our food was on its way out about 10 minutes later we started to walk out..when our waitress said that our food was only 3 minutes away...grrrrr We left. Our third time about a year later we decided to try it one more time...it was very busy and the WHOLE time we were there groups of ppl were waiting to be seated in front of our table watching us eat which was slightly uncomfortable. I ordered the pot pie which was not good. The crust was soggy, and left me craving KFC pot pie which are fantastic! So needless to say we won't be going back which is dissapointing because it's actually nice inside. :( read more

We came in to get a table. There were two of us and three more were joining. They refused to sit us even though we stated we wanted to get an appetizer and drinks. They are losing money because by the time we sit I won't be purchasing an appetizer or near as many drinks had they let us sit now. read more

This is absolutely, hands down my favorite place to eat in the area. My wife and I moved here 2 years ago, and Cheddars has become our second home. The tilapia is to die for, and so are the prices. Sat at the bar for 10 minutes and was never greeted once. Got up to speak to a manager and they had no clue where one was (of course). Asked if they had a bartender working tonight and they said of course they did and she was great. After asking where she was then they had nothing to say. Horrible experience! We are in town for a few days and found Cheddars on the map. I've been to C's in Wisconsin and Arkansas and had good food. This place excels in mediocrity. We stopped for an early dinner so they were not busy. The party of 5 in front of us included a baby and the man seating them seemed to be put out to accommodate the baby carrier. The lady seating us could have given lesson in "grouch." Onion rings arrived cold, broccoli rice casserole could have been cooked more, cole slaw had hugh hunks of cabbage, baked potato tasted like yesterday's but the croissant was good. Corporate needs to do some retraining here and the health department should look in to the temperature of the food. Our server Buck was good. read more

Was here recently for my dads b day. Atmosphere was very comfortable. A little noisy but not too bad. Food was delicious. I had the combination plate with ribs and steak. It came with two sides, i tried the broccoli casserole and red beans & rice. All very good! Ribs were tender, steak was tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the meal. What i didn't enjoy was our server. He was inattentive and just didnt seem to care about what he was doing. Had to ask for our silverware and even our dinner salads... If it wasnt for the service i would give it a 5 star rating. But id eat there again. read more

Mom picked this place for her birthday. We arrived about 5pm and the parking lot was already full, it was busy. Why is the handicapped parking so far away from the door? Hostess asked if a booth in the bar would be ok and I said yes, so we were seated promptly. But we sat there a good 15-20 minutes without even being acknowledged. The hostess had left menus so when the waitress did arrive, we were ready to give our complete order. And we were glad we did. Another 10 minutes before we got our drinks. Mom couldn't handle the huge bowl type glass her bloody mary came in, so we asked for a smaller glass. She took the entire drink and apparently forgot to bring it back. When somebody else brought our food we asked him to check on Mom's drink. Eventually the waitress brought the drink in a smaller glass. I suppose we paid for the full size.... It was really loud in there, hard to have a conversation, but it was in the bar with the NCAA game on every screen, on Saturday night. So I can forgive that. Next time we will choose dining room. I say 'next time' because the menu is extensive and the food was superb. I had the rib eye, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tender and delicious. Green beans & loaded baked potato delicious as well. Mom & Sis had the salmon. Nice big hunks of fish! Broccoli Cheese casserole side was a big hit as well as baked sweet potatoes. The food was soooo good! The tab was sooooo affordable! Sorry to say, but the Service was awful. On the way out, saw our waitress in the parking lot, on her cell phone. Everything was delicious. Our server, Barbie, was extremely nice. But it was horribly SLOW. I got my salad before we ever got a drink. Everything took forever. They weren't that busy when we got there at lunch, although they were when we left. Just getting refills on our drinks was a chore. Our server was very apologetic about the delays for everything, but wow. Management there needs to get some organization going on. At any given time I saw at least 3 people leaning against the wall going into the kitchen. As slow as stuff was coming out of there you'd think one of those guys could help with something. Service was terrible. 30 minute wait with open tables everywhere. Then after being sat just before people that just walked in the last people sat were the first to get their orders. After ten minutes and not even having a member of the waitstaff come over we left. Stopped in just before closing. I was expecting some issues, but there are not any great late night options in this area. The greeting was excellent. Friendly. I was surprised. The server made me wait a bit longer than I liked, but she was taking care of a big table. I asked for some very specific changes in the food I ordered. Darned if she came through! I was a very happy camper with my "custom" appetizer. From then on, I barely saw her. Oh, her big table was now leaving. I needed a water (my choice of beverage) refill after a few bites. There was nobody to be found. I finished it and waited about another five minutes and my sandwich came out - served by a manager. He asked what I was drinking and I told him. He never returned, and I did not get any water. The food quality was mediocre. At these prices, I understand. As I was just about done with the meal, the server re-appeared. No water in her hand. Ridiculous. This place has suffered this specific reputation from day one: Issues with drink refills. Once a meal is served, you will likely not see your server until the check is presented. If a cheap and varied menu is your priority, it's worth the chance. If service matters to you, stay away! read more

A group of us went to Cheddars and the food was great! Service was even better, our waiter was very attentive and drink refills were brought to the table before our glasses were empty. The food was hot, fresh, and reasonably priced. The chicken tenders were some of the best we ever had and the shrimp were fresh. We also ordered the onion rings at the recommendation of other Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed, they were great. We would also recommend the chicken pot pie, it was delicious. Had dinner there yesterday (July 10,2019) and had a great meal. The waitress (BJ?) was very good, friendly and helpful. However, there was a major fail for the restaurant: it was TOO COLD. The air was blowing on the three of us directly which made it quite uncomfortable. We were seated in the bar area. We finished our meal as quickly as possible and left, Other customers felt the same way because we saw someone going out to their vehicle bringing jackets back in. We commented to the person bringing out our appetizer and also to BJ who said that had been adjusted twice but we couldn't feel any difference. Will go again for dinner but maybe during winter when it will probably still be too cold. read more

I'm quite puzzled by the spate of negative reviews-- this place is terrific! I've been going to Cheddar's several times a month since it opened and I haven't had a single problem. The food is delicious, the service friendly and efficient, and the price can't be beat. Many of the items are as good as "home cooking": the chicken tenders, for example, and made-to-order... this cannot be said of the many comparable chain restaurants on Grape or Main, many of which serve frozen food at a higher price than Cheddar's. Give it a try and decide for yourself-- even if you are unhappy you won't be out too much money. read more

Go to Cheddar's, right now, and get the chicken tenders! They are perfectly crisp and juicy and even the appetizer (4 pieces) comes with fries, all for less than $7. Every time I have been they have been very busy but we still got a table within 10 minutes. The service depends on who you get, a couple of times we've suspected our waitress was high, (and once saw employees taking drugs in the back parking lot) but other times we get very attentive, polite servers that make you feel like you're at a five star restaurant! My family ate there for dinner last night and it was fantastic. The food was good and the wait staff was friendly. You definitely got your money's worth for the amount of food you got. Very much worth it and we would go back again. However our only complaint was the lighting in our booth. Honestly, this was the worst restaurant meal I have ever eaten. Our table of 8 had several different dishes so many menu items were sampled. The chicken fingers were good- I'll give them that-as were the cheese curd appetizer ( which came out 30 minutes after we ordered it). Every thing else was gross. Chicken alfredo was wierd with hard carrots and broccoli in it. The potatoes in the soup were undercooked and hard. No chicken or tortilla chips in the tortilla chicken soup-- only broth and tomatoes. All the sides were gross- broccoli cheese casserole flavorless, cole slaw nasty, cooked carrots hard n crunchy. Not good. Waited over 30 minutes for onion rings. Could not find waitress during that time. She finally come by and asked if we had our onion rings and was bewildered when we said no. So she went to the kitchen, came back with a plate of onion rings and told us they were hot from the fryer. They were cold from waiting around. The entree was salmon for me and the meat was good. However, the green beans were straight out of a can and tasted like it. The broccoli cheese casserole was just gross. Not really thinking this place is a "scratch kitchen." read more

My wife and I visited Chedders in Mishawaka, IN for dinner on 7/15/2013. The restaurant did not appear to be very busy and we were looking to get a quick meal for the evening. We were seated immediately and the waitress took our orders right away. Unfortunately, the kitchen's response was very slow. After almost 30 minutes of waiting for our food, the waitress returned to apologize for the delay and offered us complimentary dinner rolls. After another 20 minutes or so, the waitress came back and told us that the kitchen was "backed up" and our food would be another 10 minutes. The restaurant was not full and there were no large groups - hence, I was surprised by this explanation. At this point, I asked to see a manager. The manager came and told us that our food would be "coming right up" and that she would personally deliver our food. The manager returned a short time later with our meals - but, unfortunately, it was readily obvious that the food was not fully cooked (i.e. my salmon was still raw on the inside). At this point, we decided to leave and go to another restaurant - after almost an hour of waiting for our meal !!! read more

Food here for me is always good. Huge portions that I can never finish and get to take home, and consistent taste. What put my experience tonight over the top was our server, BJ.
