I am at a loss for words on how this restaurant is run. I came in to place a to go order. I'm told to go to an area where you place those orders, not the bar. The kitchen sounded like a club. Music playing and employees singing, shouting and laughing. It took me several minutes to get anyone's attention. Let me add, the music selection was not appropriate for a restaurant. Once I placed my order, I was told it would be 30 minutes. While I waited for my order, you could still hear all sorts of chaos and noise in the kitchen. I frequent Cheddar's quite a bit, particularly this one and the service has usually been proven to be exceptional. I came here to join my mom and my children for dinner and upon being greeted at the front by one of the hostesses, I was then directed by another hostess. I expressed to her, while pointing in the direction of where they were seated. She tried to seat me at two different tables with totally different people when I told her that I was meeting my MOTHER and my CHILDREN. When I was sat, I didn't receive any silverware. She had sat other customers in the section we were in and she had literally no customer service skills and have the demeanor of not wanting to help anyone. There were two other people that walked out during our dining here. Our waitress, Alicia, was patient with us as my mother received a spoon for her pot pie that had hair and fuzz on it and my 14oz Ribeye steak was undercooked(I asked for medium) and was about 90% fat. My daughter's kids cheeseburger was dry and the bread looked like it had been sitting. She didn't eat it all. The manager came to our table and tried to express to me that ribeye are mostly fat, but I've had ribeye before and never saw one that was as fatty and undercooked as this one. When I have my own, personal knowledge about steak and such, he agreed. He was very polite, and they replaced the entire meal for me, which I wasn't expecting. From looking at the reviews on here, at 2 1/2 stars, I feel appropriate that this rating is at 2 stars. Some of the staff need customer service training or needs to be where there is no customer interaction. There are great staff here as well, but it's overshadowed by the lackadaisical mindset of more of the other staff. read more

We went to the Mesquite Cheddar's today for the first time and was blown away with our server and the food. Our server was Winnie (as in Winnie the Pooh - her description) and she was absolutely the best - great personality and competent. She should be the poster girl for servers. She knew just the right times to check on us, didn't rush us, and was always smiling. The croissants with honey butter were a great start to some really good "down home" cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Mesquite Cheddar's and will definitely be going back. read more

Horrible staff. I will admit, our waitress really tried to be accommodating, but we had to wait an hour to be seated. We were crammed into a small table even though we asked multiple times for a booth. and booths were empty but we were told they were not available. only to have a smaller part sat in booths around us. Jocelyn & Ahnya (in to-go's) we're so sweet. They brought me out my food to curbside parking and had the most polite mannerisms. My ranch was missing from the bag and they did not hesitate to grab me some. They also asked me to review in the receipt to "give feedback on the service to help the business grow" & I have honestly never been asked that before. I'm not leaving this review because it was suggested for me, I am leaving this review because it is rare to get the kind of service, respect, and kindness like that at surrounding restaurants. Out food came out wonderful, took a little while and the waiter did not really check on us, but it's okay it's a Friday night and I understood they are busy. I ordered the Moscato wine to go with my entree, after I finished my first glass I noticed the bottom of glass wine was stained with red wine. A bit disguised I notified the waiter. I decided to give them another try and ordered another glass of wine. I inspected the second glass before drinking it and it was again stained at the bottom with red wine. I do not understand how they are washing their dishes. This is disguising. The dishes may look clean but they are not. Will never come back to this location again. My coffee was not fresh at all, tasted old. I ordered another cup, tasted the same not fresh. Wife's Ice tea was way too sweet. I ordered white fish, they forgot my tarter sauce. My wife ordered chicken tenders and shrimp, with two sides, forgot to bring her ceaser salad. They corrected the issue. However we have been three other times, was much better. This Cheddar's experience was less than mediocre. This is NOT the place for large parties. We were a family of 13 and very much expected that the wait would be long. Waiting was not the issue, it was the lack of critical thinking in aiding the customer experience. Staff by passed grouped empty tables to seat us in area that did not accommodate our group. Three of us was placed in an area different of from the rest of our family. I ended up cleaning a table across from my family and moved us (the three) to that booth. To add insult to injury our food came out 35 minutes later and my order was wrong. We arrived at 2:35pm and received our food at 5:15pm; I did speak to a manager of whom was very nonchalant and unconcerned. The standard of service and quality of food here has definitely dropped tremendously since the last time I was here. We had a party of 8 among what appears to be a very minimal wait time night, and our service was extra slow. No urgency among anyone that passes by. Drinks and condiments didn't come out until appetizers has arrived. Food: quality has definitely decreased. Our table ordered a variety of items from the menu and it seems everything was poorly put together - I understand it's a chain restaurant but dame make the food not look like old, dry, and sad cafeteria leftovers. Steaks looked like it was boiled and barely "grilled", two of the pasta dishes were all dried and heavily salted, and ribs were a disgraced. They felt microwaved and someone just squirted bbq sauce on top. Highlights: the butter croissants and when we left knowing well we won't be back. When they brought her trays out to be bagged up, there was a roach crawling out of the side of the to go tray. But in this case mcdonalds (which we don't even eat) would have been a better choice. We arrived around 3pm on a Sunday and had a 30 min wait ( the place was packed). Once seated it took about 10 more minutes before we saw our waiter, after ordering a spiked limeade and sweet teas it took 15 minutes for him to return with the drinks- once we ordered it took 15 minutes to come back with appetizer ( cheese bites are very good!) and by them we all had been out of drink for a while. Refills and another 20 minutes and we got our meals. By that time we were also 7 deep in empty glassware and and empty plate which was partly bussed then. The food was tasty and everyone was pleased but no table touches, long periods of not being checked are why I gave it only a 3. Good food, except the macaroni and cheese. The cheese is more often than not runny and doesn't stick to the noodles. Also the front of house manager needs to be replaced as they run an extremely loose ship. Soggy silverware rolls, dirty carpets, and the waitstaff are constantly disturbing the hostess, jockeying for certain seating. This means they're taking time away from their guests to do this. And the hostess (at least on 3/31) had an expression that says the last place she wanted to be today was working the hostess stand. And when her dour face is the first thing you see coming in the door, it puts your entire experience off to a bad start. Then to see her chatting with waitstaff over table assignments and gossip as tables sit empty with more than enough guests in line to fill them shows little commitment to clearing the lobby and seating waiting guests. read more

I typically enjoy eating at Cheddars. I had an excellent experience at the location in FRISCO, and the one in College Station. I came to this location today because it was close to my mother's house. The fools is great as usual but the service is substandard. Our waiter was inattentive and my children's plates came about 45 minutes after my wife and I received our plate. I don't know if I will be returning to this location. I was told by the waiter that the manager is coming by to discuss the error. That has yet to be materialized. read more

The waiter Mark M. in the bar area was amazing! He came out to the "waiting" area and spotted my husband and I waiting to be sat, asked us if we minded having a high top table in the bar side, which we didn't, he also explained to us that it was louder in that area than the rest of the restaurant. Which we also didn't mind. He was very thorough and checked on us often but not being over baring about it. When I asked for another drink and an extra shot in the drink he spoke with the bartender and immediately returned to the table to explain how she couldn't put an extra shot in the drink but could on the side so it could be tracked and charged/paid for. The restaurant smelled dirty, the floors were greasy and slick, and the bathrooms had no paper towels which made me wonder if employees are washing their hands. Came for dinner with friends I recommended this place. The wait was not to bad. The restaurant was hectic and no mod to be found. Waited for our table in the bar area and was told margarita machine was not working. So margaritas could not be ordered... I didnt know you needed a machine for rock margaritas? ? Service here was horrific...server dont know her name rushed us into a drink order and dinner and app. We waited ten minutes for a glass of water. Another 20 for drinks. Throughout dinner all of our waters were empty and when almost finished the server finally comes back and drops the check off. I didnt order for the check. No desserts were offered??? I love Cheedars. Inexpensive great food and drinks. As an appetizer I normally get the cheese bites or the queso with meat and salsa. Those are my recommended. The honey bun croissants are also good as a starter or dessert. My go to plate is the chicken tender platter with broccoli and cheese casserole. This time I opted for the Mac and cheese, which was superb and loaded mashed potatoes. Just can't go wrong. The buffalo chicken wraps were really good too. For drinks I get a margarita swirled or my favorite, Passion punch. Just please go here, you can't go wrong. I would like to say that Sunday's after church this place is IMPOSSIBLE to get into and even on a "slow" night you might have some trouble getting in but that never stops me lol read more
