For a change of pace I did a pickup instead of a delivery order . It's been awhile since I have been to Jason's Deli. When I was working I went there once a week on Fridays for years . What hasn't changed is good customer service to go along with their food. I was in the area so I did a pickup order from my app. I ordered a hearty ham on marbled rye bread , 32oz wild berry hibiscus tea, fudge brownie and a oatmeal cranberry walnut cookie . Weed here about every six weeks. When we can't decide what we want this is a good location to go. We love the salad bar and missed it during Covid. The sandwiches and soups are all hot and fresh. My wife loves the turkey muffaletta I don't disagree. If you're having a hard time agreeing on where to go eat this is a great place. The convenience of the location of 635 in town East Boulevard is on your way home for a lot of people. If you have some shopping to do, there's several stores nearby so having dinner here just makes sense. Especially if you don't wanna cook. read more

I order the chef salad they forgot to add a few of the toppings. Parking lot small and packed out I arrived around 12:58 lunch rush. It was 4 people at the salad station and 3 on ovens 2 cashiers working. I did a order pickup and people that ordered while there got their food way before I did and my kids were getting antsy! Busy medium noise In The inside. Cashier black young male was nice he gave me two coloring books and crayons for my littles and I grabbed some after lunch mints while I waited. Visited the Mesquite Town East location on 12-21-24 for a comfy meal. Ordering was a breeze with a helpful cashier. Waited over 35 minutes for my meal. Went to ask about the wait to which I was told, "you're next". After seeing others get serviced after I had arrived, I approached the counter again. I spoke to Angelica who took ownership of the situation and really took care of things. She took less than 5 minutes to complete my order. She was super professional and did not seem put off by the matter. I must admit I was getting a bit hangry according to my wife (who by the way was also waiting for items she'd ordered) but Angelica saved it for Jason. Whoever manages that location is fortunate to have wonderful and caring personnel on staff to handle such things. It's too easy to just say "oh well, sorry" and move on. Immediately as we were purchasing our salad from the buffet line, we saw a sign to wear gloves. Ok very nice covid precaution. Also they said due to Covid, people were only allowed one trip to the salad line. It also stated that price was reduced to make up for the inconvenience. We went onto the salad bar and put on gloves like instructed. What was there was a very basic salad bar. Remember you can only go once. So if you want a dessert, too bad, you have to put it on with the salad.Wife didn't like to mix the two. I checked my receipt and cost came out to be 12 bucks per person. What, I thought they reduced price. Maybe they did. Would of hated to see the price before Covid. Like stated before the salad bar was no better than Cicis or Lubys. My wonderful girlfriend, Emylee, ordered a salad. The waiter gave her a soup, and did not bring her desired order. She waited roughly 20 minutes and still hasn't received the correct order. She had to get up from her chair and ask the front desk for her salad in which she figures out that the salad hasn't been started on. The soup was not included in the order, so it was essentially free. After a while she did receive the salad. It was okay , although the chicken could have been better. Came in with my daughters since hunger struck us while out in the streets. Place seemed pretty busy, cashier took our order very quickly. We waited less than 10 minutes and our food came out, they brought back the salad bar but I just don't like food all out in the open like that. They do take some measures like have big people wear gloves when they serve themselves at the salad bar but I saw some people were just using there bare hands. I'm a fan of the chicken salad and that's what I got you can't go wrong, my oldest daughter got the chicken Alfredo and was pretty good and a big portion. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped at this location. I wish I could remember the young man's name who took my order. He was the happiest young man, his smile brightened up everyone who encountered him. I made a point to tell the manager. I ordered my usual Papa Joe and broccoli cheese soup. Such a disappointment. My infant and I were approached at the counter when attempting to order a meal with our family. My husband was sitting at the table and my mother was speaking next to me to order her meal. The Manager, I assume, informed me that it "made other customers uncomfortable" that my daughter did not have "just a little sweater on". This made me incredibly uncomfortable. I was unable to have a meal with my family in peace. I wasn't disturbing others, but others felt the need to disturb me? This instance occurred last weekend. I assured the man I would accommodate him and multiple times that was my only response after he informed me of the conflict in multiple different statements. As a new mother, it is difficult to accommodate an infant in environments like Jason's deli to begin with, but to have a man ask for accommodations that are unhealthy for my child puts me in a complicated and uncomfortable place. The temperature outdoors was over 96%. We sat next to the front door (for infant convenience), however, we were in the sun the whole time and my baby is teething (hello teething fever). It was purely inappropriate to be addressed by anyone to accolade the comfort of others. Ps. My daughter had her diaper on the entire time. I love, LOVE.....Jason's Deli chicken salad with my whole heart. It's the best i've had anywhere outside of my Momma's kitchen. There's something about the nuts and the pineapple they put in there, that just makes my taste buds dance like Micheal Flattley. The seafood gumbo will knock you on your butt too, it's good, and packs a punch! And this particular shop, is set up perfectly, and they are very efficient at getting you through customes, down the line, to your drink, passed the salad bar, and into your seat! See how fast that was? It's also very clean and everything is always fresh. And even if you don't get the salad bar, you can go pick up a few things off of there to compliment your meal, they don't mind, shhhh. Also, this might be wierd, but i don't care....Everytime before i leave, i hit the soft serve ice cream machine. I get a dose of the chocolate, and then swing by the salad bar one more time, and grab a few baby cornbread muffins, and eat the two together. I'm a fan of the smoked turkey panini, garden sandwich on a croissant (it's not on the menu but they'll make it for you), and the bagellini (a new menu item that may or may not be a permanent addition). You can never go wrong with their salad bar either; their cornbread muffins are delish! For desserts, I like the strawberry shortcake or cookies.
