The bread was fresh, toppings were plentiful, and subs were made exactly as ordered. I ordered the mac & cheese as a side and it was warm and creamy. Perfect comfort food! I've been hearing about the great and delicious subs at Firehouse, so I went here in their Mesquite, TX branch. I am here at exactly 10:27 am. So I waited till they open. It says 10:30 am. I stood outside and I saw people moving inside and they saw me at the door too. It's now 10:38 am and the door is still closed. I am leaving! It's hot and they're taking a long time. Bad bad bad customer service!!! I don't mind waiting inside while they're getting ready because I saw when they turned on the lights at exactly 10:30. But they did not even open the door! Will never try this branch ever or maybe any Firehouse branch if this is how their people work and treat their customers. read more

Here's my lovely $15 sandwich fail tonight This has kinda started to be mine and my dad's place every once in a while because it is somewhat pricey. Don't get me wrong it is good, BUT there's definitely a pattern and even more half assed tonight, which is unfortunate. We always get the Turkey, Bacon, and Ranch and ALWAYS ask for the bread to be a little more toasted and NEVER does that happen, then "extra crispy" bacon, which also NEVER happens. (See "limp" photo) For $15, please put a lil love it in guys, like it used to be! You now get two skinny lil baby bacon strips and again NEVER crispy and you can see how flimsy it is in the pic, but come on, even adding one more skinny ass strip would help if nothing else, right?!?!! ‍ AND THE PICKLE?!?!!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, why would you EVER give that to someone?!??? It obviously looks half eaten and just horrible looking! And honestly wasn't the friendliest bunch tonight and felt like no one wanted to be there and definitely reflected in the food. Sucks, we do still like this place, but it's always only once in a blue moon because of the prices and the staff not really seeming to care, especially never following any request of the customer, over a numerous amount of times... I.e floppy/ skinny, might as well be nothing bacon (especially with the other ingredients you can't even taste it) and the staff not caring enough to throw in, what looks like half eaten food. Several things make me rate this place negative. 1st, you stand there 10 mins why everyone ignores you, to place your order. 2nd, the soda mechine is disgustingly dirty. After telling the staff, they acted like they did not care. Not that I am surprised. 3rd, the place is full of smoke from burning something. Wow, Firehouse has a "small" sub ? Who knew ? When I was asked, "did I want a small" I presumed it was a regular 6" or so sub. Or not a large, foot long. The small is what I would describe as a child size. Actually it needs to be a small child, or they'll still be hungry. See my pic below, I put a small teaspoon next to the sandwich for size reference. I don't think it was any bigger than 3 1/2 . I would suggest if you change or add sizes that it be clearly explained what the size is. Most sub shops do a regular & foot long. The "small" is more appropriately a mini. I could have eaten at least 2, maybe 3, as they seemed like lesser ingredients as well as small length. That price is way too high for such a small sandwich, btw. You have an awful lot of competition to start cutting back on size & ingredients. That is a poor business model. Ultimately you will lose your customer base. Repeat business doesn't flourish in a restaurant that people are still hungry after having eaten. Tasty, albeit not enough food for me. I had the Italian sub. Worst version of an Italian sub I've ever had. Also I got the large which would be a medium at most competitors establishments. And for close to $14 I think it's a terrible choice. I realize they market themselves as a first responder supporting company and I appreciate that. First off, when i called to see if they were open for dine in the little girl answered and placed me on a 2 minute hold, and then told me they weren't open for dine in. & then i called 10 minutes later and the same little girl answered the phone and told me they were open for dine in. Why would you go anywhere else?!? Best subs hands down. The staff is always friendly, and fast. Made an order off UberEats, called at 1:49 PM to make sure they don't forget the hot sauce as commented in order (they've forgotten multiple times) put on hold as the lady who picked up talked and laughed with customers and co workers, waited about 10 minutes. Kept pressing buttons, hoping she'd come back to the line. Finally hung up, food got to the house and no hot sauce, called restaurant back 3 times, kept getting busy signal. My guess is that she got too busy gossiping with co worker she forgot to hang up the phone, it is now 2:11 PM 22 minutes later, still can't get through. read more

I like firehouse subs because they aren't on every corner, so when I eat there its extra treat. This is a great location when I'm out shopping. They are pretty fast and always get the order out correctly. I add and take away a few things so I'm appreciative when they keep getting it right. All the choices are easy but I seem to default to the Italian. The bread and toppings are fresh and the meats just perfect. Good Value for the size of the sammie you pick especially going with the combo. I realized this last time I love the Coke freestyle machine too. The other great thing about Firehouse Subs is the hot sauce option. I fell in love with the Captin's sauce this last time and will be adding it on the regular going forward. read more

OMGGGG I love the chili. We love orderimg from this place. Sandwiches are always perfect, I could eat here ever day of the week I won't... but I would. The chili os always amazing. Especially if you are a bit sick, its perfectly spicy and warm. I usually get a warm specialty sub, like meatball or the hook n' ladder. I'll get a large a split it with my 5 year old. Firehouse Hero has got to be one of the BEST Subs I've ever eaten! It's loaded with roast beef, smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted provolone, served Fully Involved ! You can never go wrong with a hook and ladder or a smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket. I usually pick one or the other depending on how hungry I am. This is on the top of my go to places for sandwiches, I love the way they steam the meat and cheese making it hot and juicy! The veggies are fresh and there is a copious amount of sauces/spices to add to your sandwich. I usually get mine to go and the turnaround is very fast. On a late Monday night my son and I had finished up a Boy Scouts meeting and I asked him, "Do you want Jimmy John's or Firehouse Subs?" His response, "Firehouse Subs." So we headed to Firehouse Subs. We arrived around 8:42PM. We then stood at the counter for about 2-3 minutes until someone acknowledged us. A hefty female walked up to the register and said, "You realize we close at 9:00, right?" From my receipt, which has a time stamp of 8:46PM and a cashier stamp I'm going to assume her name is Keila. I told her yes, and proceeded to give her my order. My son and I got a table, however a young female with a large flower tattoo on the back of her left hand was sweeping at the table behind my chair. I pulled my chair out and asked her if she needed to sweep where I was going to sit. She swept out my spot and I sat down. Then about 3 minutes later she's hitting my chair with a broom trying to sweep under my chair. I thought it was odd, and rude, but didn't think much of it until I saw her sweeping under the table of people sitting at a table in front of me. She said nothing to the people sitting at the table. She pushed their feet out of the way with the broom and continued to sweep under their table as they moved their feet out of her way. I was surprised that there was no conversation between the two parties as she did this. I grabbed a to go box and we left. I was out the door by 9:01PM. I LOOOVE firehouse! It's my go to lunch. They have the BEST vegetarian sub. They're fast and super friendly. The subs always taste super fresh and are hardly every sloppily made. My absolute favorite sub place. This location is brand new and you can tell some of the workers are still getting used to working here, but their quality consistency remained the same from all other locations I have tried. My favorite sandwich is the Italian sub, it's so delicious. I love their variety of hot sauces that you can test and try on your sub, and best of all they have one of those 100's of combinations soda machine. First and last time I will go to this company. The bread could be best described as rubbery, overly chewy and bland. It had no real flavor or character and just was not tasty.
