Saw this place had good reviews and decided to take a field trip for my lunch. I ordered the club sandwich on sourdough. Definitely got my money's worth. Nasreen was also delightful and made my experience that much better. Not much of an ambiance but it is clean and plenty of room for seating. This place is a cute little cafe inside of Founder's Square. In addition to deli items, they also serve Indian/Pakistani dishes on Mondays as well as have fusion options on Thursdays (ex: chicken tikka quesadillas). What really caught my eye were the Indian/Pakistani options! I interned in this building so I had the pleasure of being able to see what specials they offered each day. Each day, there was a different special and it would vary week by week. I was lucky enough to keep an eye on the specials and stop by if something sounded good to me. To the general public, it would be pretty difficult to know what options are available unless you stop by randomly and see what they have to offer (I'm sure you could also call ahead of time too). The first time I stopped by, I wanted to try their lunch special. I believe it was butter chicken over rice with a samosa and raita or aloo gobi over rice with a samosa and raita. For $6.99/plate or for $7.99 (a combination of the two entrees, samosa, raita), that price cannot be beat! Unfortunately, the first time I stopped by, they were completely out of the specials! I was pretty bummed especially since it was only noon. However, they did have 2 beef pastries ($2.50/each) and 2 beef samosas ($0.99/each) left, so I purchased those. The beef pastry was perfectly seasoned with tons of different spices all tucked inside a huge puff pastry. The samosa was seasoned a similar way but it was wrapped inside a pastry wrap similar to egg roll wrappers. I enjoyed those two items so I decided to stop by a week later to hopefully try the specials. Luckily, I was able to snag the combo deal this time around. I ordered butter chicken, aloo gobi, rice, and a vegetarian samosa. I felt that the portion was decent for the price, but I wish I had more sauce and meat (I only had like 3-4 pieces of chicken) on top of my rice. The curries weren't seasoned heavily, which is what I would expect from Indian dishes, but overall, I felt that the flavors were okay. It's a nice treat if you work in the building, but I don't see myself going out of my way if I didn't work in the building. read more

I came back to a trade show that was here in Dallas two years ago. I remembered enjoying lunch at the Founder's Square Deli. Small, family run eatery in the lower level of the building. I was happy to find them still there and enjoyed another delicious lunch (Southwest Chipotle Chicken Pasta with salad and garlic bread). All "home cooked" food. People there to serve you who are genuinely glad you are there. They serve deli type fair and other lunch staples, but the real gems are the various ethnic cuisine specials, prepared daily. A colleague and I were in town for a psych research conference and we were looking for something quick and cheap to grab for lunch. Scrolling through my trusty Yelp app, I stumbled across this deli just a block away from our hotel. It's a really unassuming place, and you wouldn't be able to tell what's special about it just by looking at it. But from Nasreen's first smile I knew we had found a hidden gem. She chatted us up with wit and interest, telling us stories of her past customers, while preparing several orders of American comfort foods - burgers, sandwiches, salads. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a chicken salad pita - both were excellent and we wolfed them down with relish. Delicious sandwiches! Very friendly and helpful staff. A little tough to find (located on the bottom floor of the Founder's Building) but well worth the effort! I came to Dallas for the HOSA International Leadership Conference & after spending some time at the Convention Center, my group & I were looking for a lunch spot. I spotted Founder's Square Deli a 6 min. walk away with awesome reviews & brought my group here...and it was closed. But the awesome owner lady greeted us outside & was extremely kind enough to make us sandwiches! When she offered, she didn't seem even mildly annoyed by us. She even told us that she offered the same to another group that came by. I had the chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat bread. Awesome food & superb customer service. My absolute favorite place in Dallas. Aunty Nasreen is the sweetest owner and in my opinion, serves the best homemade-ish Pakistani/Indian food in all of Dallas. Mondays are Pakistani/Indian food where one dish will be vegetarian and the other non-vegetarian. This means I usually eat one for lunch and save the other for dinner. Thursdays are where Aunty's magic shines. She makes fusion food (usually a mixture of India, Mexican, American or kebob meat) which will blow your mind. Absolute favorite so far has been the Tandoori chicken quesadillas. Her standard food list also incredibly tasty. Particular favorites are her soup and grilled cheeses (where Aunty will put grilled chicken and veggies to make a melt) as well as the gyros. Also fantastic salads! I'm unfortunately only a temporary visitor of Dallas but, I can happily say that Aunty has fed me lunch every single day for the past 10 weeks. I will truly miss her and her delicious food when I leave Dallas. read more

The couple who own it are living the dream. They care alot about food and service here. So dont go in here with an attitude and ruin it. I had a daily special turkey bacon ranch melt was really good. Back in 2019 I dined here a few times when I stumbled across this small deli in this very nice but unassuming lawyers building. Accessing this restaurant is a little difficult if you've never been here, you can go from the rear of the building through the parking ramp, or you can go through the front, the building does have security and usually you need to sign into the building, but if you ask about the restaurant you will be let back and the security will point you in the right direction. I was very happy to see they were still open in 2022 given all the past circumstances. You wouldn't expect much from a deli usually, but this place is an exception! The owner, Nashreen is a great person to talk with and is very passionate about the food she serves. The customer service provided here is well above any other restaurant I've been to in all my past years. They also sell a wide variety of items too like some over the counter medicines, candy, quick snacks, and more. My friend and I bought the burger lunch special which has a burger of your choice, a 20oz(medium) beverage and a side of fries, all for $8 which is an incredible value for downtown. The menu however does offer more than that, and I've heard on select days they offer cultural food items and apparently they're pretty good so that may be worth trying. The food was great too, every item is freshly prepared to order and the food tastes great! Overall this is a great hidden spot to dine in a very historic building with owners you wish could run any restaurant, and I recommend dining here! read more

I've eaten here 2 days in a row yesterday was my first and I think I have literally found the best eatery for lunch and it's next to my office! Nasreen and her husband own this cute little deli and it's clean inside. The food is made directly in front of you. The second you step into the building you can smell it. I work next door to this place. A couple of coworkers and myself found it randomly while searching for something different after moving to this building. Staff is friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful if you need help with the menu. The menu is pretty basic, but tasty. Mondays are a real treat, with 2 Indian cuisine options as their specials! My orders have been incomplete on more than one occasion. I now check my order before I leave. The man tried to rip me off on items I had already purchased. After I paid the man at the register I picked up my order with the lady. I looked into my box and the order was incomplete. I asked her about the other items. She asked the man at the register and he said No. She then told me" You didn't buy them". I looked at him and he then replied " I said Yes." I'm not sure what he was thinking. I was the only one there and I heard him tell her no I didn't buy them (chips and pickles). I thought the combo came with lays chips and a pickle, after all that's what I ordered. So I don't understand why he said I didn't buy chips and pickle and why I had to request them. This experience didn't sit well with me. If I go to McDonalds and order a combo meal they aren't going to charge me and then exclude the fries and have a debate whether I paid for them or not. On another day I bought an Almond Joy that tasted terrible. I looked at the expiration date, July 2017. Its a small place to eat so I can see some products may sit for a while. I don't think this is acceptable though. I know throwing out products causes a loss of profit, but it also causes loss of consumers. The owner used to treat her employee very badly. She still smiles through her teeth when her employee doesn't do something correctly but she has gotten better about treating her like a human. It seems there is a communication barrier and I've witnessed her talk down to this adult woman like a child. Needless to say we are no longer supporting this business because of the ill practices that have been going on. read more

I had a week that required me to be in downtown Dallas more than usual. We had a limited time for lunch so we had to eat close and it had to be fast. I abhor Subway; my friend used to office in this building and he suggested we would like the food. He was wrong, we didn't just like it, we loved it. It's run by a husband and wife team. Nasreen make the standard office deli fare, but also supplements it with home made dishes that were awesome. Last week we had tandoori chicken quesadillas and Indian spicy burgers. Both were fantastic. I'm glad that I don't have to be in downtown D, I can't stand tall buildings, but I am sad that I missed her butter chicken curry today. This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. All of the food is good, but I especially like Nasreen's homemade selections on Mondays and the fish on Tuesdays. If "Nasreen's Special" is offered on the menu on a particular day, the dish changes, but will always be the best choice. She is also very accommodating and will alter certain dishes for people that prefer less carbs, vegetarian entrees, etc. read more

A co-worker brought me across the street from the federal building a week or two ago and I have already been back a few times. So good to know that we have an affordable, healthy and tasty option like this that is so close. Nazreen is a nice lady and accomodating. This place is tucked away in an office building. Going in, it looks like an airport cafeteria. It's definitely a mom and pop business, and they are the sweetest. They make you feel right at home with their warm greetings and conversations. They take pride in what they make, and I can tell by how it takes. Don't get me wrong and think this is fancy gourmet stuff. If anything, the meal I ordered felt like homemade, like I packed it myself. I ordered the Nasreen's Special, which included Tandoori Chicken, chickpea and spinach steamed, and spicy potatoes. I also added on an egg roll and croissant, since they looked so good. The potatoes were great, but closer to the end, I felt most of the kick which got me a little sweaty. The steamed chickpea spinach combo had a lot of flavor and a great broth. The tandoori chicken was soft and moist, with a sauce that packed a punch of flavor. The croissant was made in house, and it was flakey and fluffy. I'm not sure how their burgers and sandwiches taste, but if they are anything like their Nasreen Special, then it will sure be a winner. read more

Not only is the Indian food great each day but the burgers and sanwhiches and other daily specials area great too! These folks do it all, and do everything good.
