Our experience started off poorly, when hostess asked us if we wanted to sit in bar. We did. And got ignored by 3 employees. We quickly left and went back to hostess- she acknowledged us, but took a woman who just came in door first. A waitress sat us down- which we were thankful for. We ordered, they did arrange for a free dessert. My husband food was good. I ordered the key west chicken and shrimp. I got 2 shrimp and rest were just shells. Came in on a Friday night for dinner with a group of six and had an overall average experience. Pros - Quantity- Overall the amount of food wasn't bad for what was ordered. (I wanted simple and got the chicken tenders, which theyvare known for) - Staff- Staff was friendly enough, when they checked on us - Clean- While it was a busy Friday night, it was fairly clean and the restroom was as well, so that's a win. Cons Staff- While they were friendly (pro), they were very slow and seemed overwhelmed. It took about 15 minutes to get our waters after ordering and about 45 minutes for our food) Overall, not bad, could have been worse, but could have been a little quicker. Granted we went on Easter however there were several tables in the bar where we chose to sit. None of them had been cleared from the previous customers. We sat there for 15 minutes and not one server came over to clear the table or waited on us. Both servers were standing at the bar talking. I'll never go back. The food was good, with my favorite being the chips and salsa. The meal started off with the croissant, which was a bit cold but still had flavor. The chips could've been warmed up, however the queso made up for it. The salsa was a bit sweet for my liking but it wasn't bad. My girlfriend got the chicken pot pie and the bake potato soup, and they were both pretty good. For my entree I got the lemon pepper chicken which was a smidge dry. The corn was good but the broccoli was a little bland, and you could see the freeze dried garlic pieces on the broccoli. The service was good, nothing to write home about though. Cheddar's always has a good atmosphere, however the little ipad on our table didn't work, so paying was a bit of a hassle, but not a huge deal. Overall not a bad experience and would go again. When it comes to restaurants in town that both my wife and I really like a lot, Cheddars is at or near the very top of the list. There is an extensive menu offering something for everybody, prices are reasonable, and they have a nice patio for outdoor dining, which is a good thing for people who are Covid-cautious and prefer not to eat indoors. My wife tends to get the same thing whenever we eat here: the chicken pot pie, which she says is delicious. My favorite meal is the chicken-fried steak, but I also frequently get, and really enjoy, the chicken tenders and the pork chops. Instead of a preliminary basket of bread or rolls, all meals come with a croissant and honey butter drizzle. We like these so much that we often buy extras to take home (at 2 for $2, the price is right). We did have a bad experience once when we ordered delivery: the food never arrived. (I assume this is the fault of the delivery service rather than the restaurant, and a phone call to the restaurant resulted in the charge being removed. I assume also that this is not a typical thing.) Since then, we have taken to eating there or getting takeout, and have never had any problems. This is always a safe go to place. My husband loves their soulps. My Granddaughter loves their chicken wraps. I like gheir generous portions of meatloaf. Service is usually fast and good. Cheddar's has online ordering, and I was able to quickly and easily order food that I could pick up curbside. I appreciate that Cheddar's offers many excellent vegetables and side dishes. I travel for work frequently and I seldom eat fast food. Cheddar's has side dishes on the menu that you can't find at most restaurants. Today the sides I ordered were a baked potato, Southern green beans, and broccoli cheese casserole. The green beans are delicious, they taste just like the old-fashioned green beans my grandma used to make. I love broccoli casserole and it is unusual to find it in restaurants so I always order it when it is on the menu. I also ordered a bowl of baked potato soup, which was served hot, yay! I don't care for lukewarm soup so the hot soup made me happy. Cheddar's has some of the best baked potato soup I have ever had. Tastes like homemade! Also, heads up, they give everyone in your party a free honeybutter croissant. I must say they're pretty good . This facility is very large so they can move a lot of dinners quickly - and they do!! Our party of two don't have to wait long for a spot in the bar. The inside of the restaurant is attractive and comfortable. They had plenty of staff which were friendly and helpful. The tile on the bar floor was very slippery on this visit. I'm not certain why since it wasn't raining outside. The floor was uncomfortably slick. It's been a while since I've been to a Cheddars. The menu is significantly smaller. I was surprised at how limiting the menu choices were. For lunch I had the chicken tender salad. I found the salad to be very fresh. The tenders were tasty like the regular tenders. Service was bad, we had a party of 12 which they made us wait for over 40 minutes to get a table. When they finally took us to be seated they gave us two cramped booths and said that's all they had. Other tables were available. The dishes were dirty literally, food stuck to the bottom of them. During the day, you can easily be seated, but you might want to make a reservation if you're coming in with a large party during the evening. I love their fish tank by the concierge, which looks really beautiful especially at night. The best things I ate was the complimentary croissants, which were light and fluffy, and everything else we ate was nothing to write home about. One thing that totally threw me off was the tablets that were on every table. I was trying to see if the menu was on the tablet and saw there were actually games on there. I thought that's good thinking on Cheddar's part to try and entertain the kids so there can be peace during the meals. So I'm checking out what' games there are to see if they're age appropriate and as I select a game, I see a message pop up saying that I've been charged for the game!! They got me! We went here on Friday and it was 3:30 in the afternoon. We saw only 4 couples in the restaurant. They seated us next to another table with 3 people all other tables in that area was empty. We asked if we could sit at one of the 8 tables in the same area, but was told we couldn't. The service was not very good no refills and she never took any dirty dishes away. The restaurant was dirty with food on the floor. Outside the benches were rusty and the paint was peeling off. I will never eat here again and would not recommend it. read more

After a day of over doing, all of us wanted something to eat, so I suggested here since they had Monte Christo sandwiches. Not the kind I normally like but worth a try. My brother decided to get the chicken pot pie (southern Ohio boy always) and his friend wanted the chicken strips. While not fancy, a good variety to see how the food was. When I picked up the food 25 minutes later, everything was there and the system for pick up was smooth. Got to see the huge fish tank in the wall so I almost wished we felt like eating in. My brother and I got the southern style green beans ,made with baconfat. Betty Sue got fries and slaw. We also honey butter croissants with our meal. All of us agree that everything was some of the best we ever had. The pot pie was huge. The Monte Christo was so good it that I wanted to eat it all in one sitting, but at 1440 calories, I saved half for breakfast. The raspberry sauce was perfect with the melted cheese, ham, turkey, and bread deep fried in light batter. It was even just as good microwaved the next morning. So was the honey butter croissant. I even looked up to see if they had a location in Michigan. This is my last trip to Lafayette but if I have to come back, I would have a meal here. She was professional and friendly. When she greeted our table she apologized for the mess on the floor and later came and cleaned it up. The dining room was quite disheveled for the beginning of a dinner shift. The crescent rolls are great! We had chips and cheese with salsa. The cheese had a bit of a congealed layer on top but was good. I ordered the salmon and broccoli. The fish was prepared well with good seasoning. Broccoli was steamed with a good crunch.
