Excellent service at Andie's! We went for an early breakfast on my quest to find the best breakfast in Lafayette. Andie's ranks high on my list! Generous portions of freshly prepared items. I like an option to sub toast with a small pancake but they had biscuits as an option and they were perfect! Buttery, fluffy and fresh. Another patron ordered the big breakfast with pancakes and they were massive! The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was welcoming and clean. Have been here a few times and each one has been, eh. Pros - Place is very affordable and not bad for a hole-in-the-wall diner. - Variety is good with a solid mix of breakfast favorites (not all healthy but solid choices)! Cons - The food is eh. Not a ton of flavor and every time I get my food it is just warm, not hot. - Staff is okay, but not the most friendly. They definitely have their regulars and favor them (rightfully so) Overall an okay spot for breakfast, but not a must-go-back spot. read more

Today my take out order was wrong. One meal suppose to have mashed potatoes. It had hash browns!!! Then I was treated so rude. Actually yelled back at when I asked a question. We tried our food tonight what there was of it. Handful of green beans. Ridiculous place. I will never step foot in it or tell anyone else to go there. I stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday at 12:30 pm and it had a lot of people in there. It is larger than it looks. The menu was a standard diner fair, there was something for everyone. I ordered the Beef Manhattan along with mac and cheese as my side. My order came right out, and it looked good. The beef was very tender, not falling apart, but tender, nonetheless. The gravy was very tasty, and the mashed potatoes were very good. The mac and cheese were cheesy and good in my opinion. Overall, for the price this was a great value. I don't get the popularity of this place. The food is mediocre at best. On my last visit, one of my dining companions raved about the chicken salad. So I ordered the sandwich. The dressing was runny and the chicken was chewy. The servers are friendly but only if they know you well. Service is fast for a busy lunch hour. The parking lot is small due to a feud with the neighboring liquor store. Don't park on that side of the building. But some people love this place. I don't get it. read more

This was excellent! It was my first time ever eating here and I was impressed. Went on a weekend with my husband and we had a breakfast platter and a cinnamon roll cake! The cake was phenomenal! Hubby said it was the best thing he's ever eaten! The cinnamon roll cake is only on weekends, the owner told us. Don't be fooled by the exterior with the rough parking lot. This has become our go to place for breakfast or lunch in recent months. Everything is always served hot and/or fresh. We have enjoyed our meals there. The staff works hard and are always friendly. The omelettes, burgers, and chef salads are recommended. The baked steak manhattan is my favorite. Oliverio's is ok. Food is greasy, heavy or both, but what do you expect from a Southland restaurant? This restaurant has been around for ages and has a loyal following. The mostly friendly staff in Lafayette! You can get breakfast all day, and they serve mush, which is hard to find in Indiana. Great prices for the amount of food you get. My daughter always leaves with a balloon, which is a nice gesture, and they have a play area for children in the back. All around, a Lafayette favorite. Love this place. read more

Ordered a tuna melt, cup of vegetable soup, and strawberry rhubarb pie. They said they had just made the tuna salad but it tasted old and very fishy. Couldn't eat it. The rhubarb in the pie was tough and stringy. Couldn't eat that either. When I complained about the pie at the register, they repeatedly said that no one else had complained. They then said I should have said something and they would have brought me something else. I didn't do that because I didn't want the people in my party to feel uncomfortable. They wouldn't take it off my bill. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of one is because it was clean and the soup was good. read more

When traveling, we like to try local eateries in lieu of the chains. We've eaten here several times. Mom-and-Pop kind of place, and homey enough. The waitress we've had each time leaves a lot to be desired, however. On our most recent visit, I asked what kind of salad dressings were available. The exchange went like this: "What do you want?" 'Im not sure. What do you offer?' "It's easier if you just tell me what you want, and I'll tell you if we have it!" 'OK, I'd like Bleu Cheese' "Don't have it..." 'Honey French?' "Don't have that either" 'OK, Thousand Island' It was easier for HER, as she didn't have to do any work or show any interest in her patrons, which was evident throughout our most recent visit. This could explain why there were only two tables occupied in the place. We received our entrees without even a grunt from Miss Congeniality. Very rude owner! Today went in with my grandmother for lunch, sat down and as we were about to order our food we were informed the phone lines were down and that they couldn't accept debit or credit cards. My Grandmother asked the waitress if we could pay our bill in cash but come back later to tip if we didn't have enough for the waitress. She went and got the owner. The owner and came out and insisted that she could just run our card later in the day and that we should write down our name, phone number, and credit card information on a piece of paper for her. When I expressed that we didn't know how we felt about this she became very nasty and condescending, explaining how ridiculous we were being for questioning her and her staff because she was the owner and they had been open for 35 years and what an outstanding staple for Lafayette her restaurant is. She then began pressing my grandmother for her credit card number insisting that 20 other people had already done so and we should not be offended by her demeanor with us. Then she explained that we shouldn't ask her to trust us to come back with a tip when we don't trust her to write down all our information. We promptly stood up and just walked out. Absolutely unbelievable behavior...I will admit I have never been treated so rudely in a restaurant in my life!!!!!
