I keep trying but sadly, every time I do, I'm reminded why I shouldn't have. While the food is good and the prices are reasonable, the service is deplorable! They are slow, you are forced to ask for everything.. including silverware, salt and pepper, a napkin.. you see my point. After ordering croissants I was told by my server he already had them coming to my table. That did not happen I did however get my entree well before my salad, still no croissants. I was told it would be 15 minutes and he would gladly box them up for me to take home. As I watched them come from the back serving croissants to other patrons I asked a third time for mine, I was told it would be 30 to 40 minutes as they had run out. That was it I asked for a manager and she was, and I quote "very sorry" but there was really nothing she could do. Don't really believe she was sorry at all guess. After A 45 minute wait to be seated and multiple people jumping ahead of us, the food was cold a d half cooked. Monte Cristo sandwiches were half cooked and fried were soggy. The chicken fried steak was cold as can be. The wait staff was really apologetic and nice but the cooks were trying to sling the food out as fast as possible and everything came out undercooked. The fries, Monte Cristo, mashed potatoes, chicken fried steak, corn and green beans were all cold. What happened to this place, it used to be a great place to eat. They offered a free dessert and remove my meal when I told them not to make another meal when we had already waited 1.5 hours. The server was great and none of this was her fault. Worst costumer service ever and it wasn't even just one server. It was the whole staff of hostess and manager that came and talked to us. Apparently it's policy that parties greater than 8 people will not be served. We came in with 9 and they gave us a table with 8 chairs and walked away with just "we don't sit parties greater than 8". Just that...just walked away. We had two kids with us that shared one chair to try to accommodate to them but they said they would not serve one of us. What restaurant does that?! If you can't accommodate to more than 8 people in your restaurant because it's too stressful for your staff, YOU SHOULD NOT BE A RESTAURANT! read more

We went dinner time and the place was jampacked with waiting room full. Despite of this, we were able to have our table in less than 5 minutes of waiting. We ordered grilled salmon with mango salsa, barbeque ribs and chicken tenders. All orders taste okay and prices are very reasonable. read more

Ordered curbside pickup. Received food and drove home. Got home and prepared to eat and realized some of my order was missing. Called Cheddar's and spoke to a woman on the phone and told her my order was incomplete. She was apathetic and non apologetic. It seemed to be no big deal to her. She asked me if I was coming back to get it and I told her no. She stated she would tell the Manager. First time eating here. Food was so so, but I hate apathetic service and incompetence. The food here is great! The service. Not so great. I called in once on the way here for a Togo order, they left me on hold for 20 minutes. I arrived and no one was at the front with the phone. So now I had to wait for my Togo order when I just wanted to pick it up and leave. When I come to eat, there's never any hostess at the front. But the servers are usually better. Top things to get there Asian salad- sweet and light Croissants- buttery goodness Dijon chicken and mushrooms- juicy and tasty Chicken tenders- crispy and tender Ribs- fall off the bone Spinach dip- best thing ever. I ordered the country fried steak. The breading was not attached to the meat and was very salty. The meat was tenderized well and was easy to cut, but I could not get the meat and breading to be on my fork at the same time. The gravy was perfect. I had the side salad with blue cheese dressing. The dressing was not very good. The salad had good eye appeal, but I could not handle the dressing, so I didn't eat much of it. The baked potato was perfectly cooked and I usually had salt to to them. This time I used some of the salty breading to add salt to the potato. The meal came with honey butter croissants. They were quite good. The service was very good! My wife ordered the country fried chicken. She was served the country fried steak. Rather than wait for the correct order, she didn't say anything and ate what she could but it was to salty for her. We ate here several years ago. Well, that was the worst experience In a very long time. The worst part is we were supposed to be celebrating my daughter's Birthday!! Almost an hour wait and the food was either cold or burnt and cold. Manager only gave a half-a@@ apology and no explanation as to why it took so long. The glazed croissants were amaze-balls!!! The fact that they allowed a parent to have a two-year-old child screeching at blood curdling levels throughout our entire meal nearby was unbearable. We watched other tables of patrons get up and leave due to it. The noise level in the room itself was easily edit 12. This was ear-piercing. The food itself was really good and the portions were huge. I just wish I was able to hear my dinner companions' conversation. Not recommended for a first date for sure. My 36 yr old son and his 31 yr old girl friend who lives with us ate lunch today 8/2/19 at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Humble and one of the staff made an "off" comment to my son Aaron saying his girl friend looked like she was 15 and he looked much too old for him like he is a sexual predator with her. This was my second Cheddars to visit while I was in Houston. Cheddars used to be one of my favorite restaurants when I lived there, so I had very high expectations. The food was actually as good as it used to be, but the service was horrible. Particularly, our waiter never introduced himself and repeatedly got things we ordered wrong. We found out that his name was Jacob after looking at the bill. Jacob never apologized for those things and omitted to bring fixed orders to the table on several occasions. He never came back to the table to ask how things were. We either had the flag him down or the manager who did help. We spoke to the manager twice who helped correct those situations and said he would speak with the server. The shenanigans continue however and the waiter was never replaced. The manager stated that the server must be having a bad day. There was no excuse for this kind of service. I'm giving an extra star simple good cuz the manager tried to make things better. I just wished that check it would have been replaced so that my family and I would have had a better evening. It was a very special occasion for us and the bad service ruined our celebration. read more

The host was very friendly and sar us as quick as she could because it was busy. We started with croissants and Caesar salads, which cane out within 5 minutes. The croissants are so delicious and hot. Then, I had Baja chicken and shrimp and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Every thing came out quickly and hot. First of my server is awesome. Ask for carlos!!! Food was great. I asked for gig is baked spagna* taste was amazing. My husband had a combination of stake and ribs and it was delicious. My frozen margaritas with sangria was perfect. Not so sweet not too strong. This was my first time at a cheddar and had a good time. The buttered bread server at the beginning were the bomb. Wish I could of had more! The only reason I didn't give a five stat was due to the bathroom not having paper towels to try my hands. I would definitely recommend people to come to this location. It can get pretty packed in the evenings so I would suggest going for lunch, unless you like long waits and crowds...which isn't my preference. The day I went I had a party of 6 first when I walked in I told the hostess that seated us we needed a high chair and swing for a baby and toddler and never did she ever bring it to the table. Next the waiter we had seemed frustrated took a while to get our drinks and 1 margarita that took 45 min! Then after placing our orders it took a hr for our food to get to our table while parties that arrived after us received their food before. Horrible service, well actually NO service. We went to the bar section and sat in a booth. Five employees, including the bartender, were meandering snd talking. Done even walked past us to check on other guests sitting in booths. They never acknowledged us. After 10 minutes I want to the hostess and asked if anyone was working in the bar. Apparently SOME booths don't have service during certain s times of the day. Yet none of the five meandering employees had time to met us know that two booths were not being serviced. To start off, the wait was super long.. so we decided to sit at the bar. I'm super nice and friendly.... It took 15 minutes for the bartender that was standing right in front of me to greet us. But was helping everyone around. The entire time, she looked like she did not enjoy her job as did everyone else. My mom and I went for lunch and she ordered a club sandwich and there was MOLD on the bread....when we showed our waitress she said "ohh sorry" and picked the plate up like it was no big deal and asked if we wanted something else. She ended up ordering a different sandwich but had lost her appetite at that point seeing as she had already taken 2 bites of her old one. Disgusting and not once did a manager come by and apologize probably because our waitress said nothing in the first place. Came tonight with my dad, waiter was inattentive. We ordered right away, but we had to explain twice because I think he didn't know the menu. I'm guessing he put in the food and figured we'd be fine until we got our food but we sat without drinks for awhile until I had to flag him down. My dad ordered a salad, which came after the meal. He also was missing a side, which he said was coming soon. Eventually we had a manager come who was splendid and fixed our food, and after a couple minutes the waiter came out with another plate of food which confused us, then charged us twice for it. I had to track down a different manager to fix it because he left again. He the stood at the table after we looked at our check until we paid, which was kindve awkward because he just stared at us until we finished talking about the check and handed him the money. The food itself was amazing, my salmon was great and my dad had no complaints on quality. We were told he just started (fanice I think was his name), though if someone is that neglectful, uncertain or just not experienced enough I would hope management would know and have him go through more training, or at least have him watched by a trainer in the beginning. So today was the 4th time I've tried this location- and just like all the other times- it sucked. After sitting for 15 minutes at the high top bar table and being ignored, I went to the bar and asked the bartender if we had table service or if we should order everything from her. 5 minutes later a waitress came by. We placed our drink order food order and waited. Food came out somewhat timely, but the drinks took a while. When we got the food, my boyfriend got mashed potatoes instead of broccoli casserole with his steak. I had asked the waitress if there was loaded mashed potatoes and she said yes. She brought me regular potatoes with cheese butter and sour cream. Ok- not my idea of loaded, but whatever. When she brings the check- I see I'm charged .99 cents for bacon bits. No bacon bits were anywhere to be found but I'm assuming they were supposed to be part of the loaded potatoes... So all in all, table service sucks, food is ok, just inaccurate. Service .... y'all need to fix it. Based off of all the reviews, that is the only issue. Food was fine as always. It's hard to mess up cheese fries and chicken tenders. Upon arrival we were greeted by 4 hostesses which was nice, but then we were seated in a dirty booth. So we moved to a clean table and a server barked at us stating that we needed to check with the hostess stand because it's a different persons section. Next, for signing up for cheddars e-club, you could get free chips and queso. Our server told us we couldn't use it until 72 hours later which I know is BS BC I'm an avid Yelp user. I asked to speak to a manager who never showed up to our table. In addition, our server never came back to check on us or refill our empty cups. I love cheddars & it's a staple in our dine out rotation. The only reason I gave this review 3 stars is because of this specific location. There's always a long wait, staff always seems short tempered & sassy, & it's always FREEZING!! This visit our waiter was amazing so maybe they are hearing our cries. I've tried multiple things here & ive never been disappointed (spasagna, chicken pot pie, nachos, onion rings, artichoke dip, flavored lemonades, margaritas, salmon and mango salsa, etc.) The buttered croissants are amazing.
