Cheddar's has always been my favorite place to eat but I do not think I will ever be back. The service we received today was absolutely unacceptable. Our food came out cold, the waitress was the worst I have ever had. PLEASE DO NOT get the steak. I ordered the "new" filet for $21. It was not worth the portion given and was very tough and had to two eat. My oldest daughter order the fish and shrimp, she stated that it tastes like it was frozen and then cooked. We ordered spinach dip and waited 30 minutes for refill chip and had to ask 3 times. By the time the chip refill came, the dip was cold. I had to get up from my table to ask for silverware bc we were not given any, at any point in time. We had to continually ask for refills on water, at one point all of our glasses for empty for a good 30 mins. My youngest order the kids chicken tenders with fries. After ordering her food first. Her food came out cold. I had to speak with the manager before our main course even came out. I was only compensated for the spinach dip. Our meals should have been comp-ed up to that point. After another attempt for cheddars to redeem themselves.....I was offered a gift card to replace my previous sandwich. So....I was in restaurant this time. I ordered my usual Monte Christo Sandwich. The fries were great. Crispy and hot. The sandwhich was UNDERCOOKED and RAW YET AGAIN! My waitress was very kind ands sent it back after I showed her the raw goo. My new sandwich came back 15. We decided to stop in here the other night because we had a gift card. My husband kept saying "thankfully it's free" but I'm actually irritated anyone would waste their money here. It didn't take too long to be sat despite the hostess saying they were slammed. The waitress may have been new so I don't want to complain too much about service. She was nice just incredibly slow and had to keep coming back to our table to clarify our order. We didn't drink any alcohol but the drinks did look good and seemed decently priced. Food was God awful. Husband's steak was undercooked, the shrimp he and I had was flavorless. Chicken was a bit rubbery and the breading was soggy. Carrots lacked flavor as well which was a bummer. Green beans had a weird bitter taste. His baked potato was cold (the cheese on top wasn't even melted) and the skin was rock hard. One kid said the fries were gross but the other one liked them so I guess those could go either way. We also ordered the homemade queso which comes with a side of salsa. I believe the salsa is homemade and the queso is velvita with a little of the salsa in it. Stopped in here Saturday after a day at the nearby gun range. My girlfriend suggested it and I have to say it was a wonderful surprise. There was a line out the door, but they dealt with the overflow quickly and efficiently. We were told there'd be a 10, maybe 15 minute wait and were seated under 10 minutes later. The decor in this place is fantastic. A huge fishtank is stationed behind the bar and in an area where it can be seen from most of the dining room. They have an amazing rolling fan hanging in one of the main chambers, everything in the place just looked great. Well kept and inviting. I almost never even mention decor when I write a review, so the fact that I feel the need to point it out should say something. It was welcoming and warm. Once seated we then met one of the best servers I've ever had (I believe her name was Breanna). Friendly and upbeat, able to offer real suggestions when asked. A great person helping you can make all the difference and that is exactly what we had. After making our selections, and our honey glazed croissants were sat on the table, one bite said this would be a great meal. It was a delicious start to an enjoyable dining experience. I had the Monte Cristo and my lady had a club sandwich and both were wonderful. Great french fries as well. I'll be eager to return to Cheddar's and try some of their other selections. My family has been coming to this Cheddars since 2012. Last night was our last time, ever. After sitting unspoken to by anyone at our table for 30 min. My husband went and told a hostess we had not been waited on. she sent the manager, Danielle over to us. Turns out our server got ill. She had the server next us take over. Asks us to have appetizers on the house, brought bread, we understand. Another 20 min goes by nothing. He gets up again,she apologizes as this was just dumped on her(her words) takes our order. 30 min later our order comes, we are upset by this time. We witness our new server walk by us multiple times with out even so much as eye contact much less checking on us. My husband said she probably thinks she is not getting a tip. She would have had she treated us right. But, My chicken pecan salad has no pecans. Our drinks are empty. By this time we have been there more than 1.5 hrs. My daughter was thirsty when another waiter drops off some pecans we ask for her some water. His snotty response was ill tell your server. Like its not his job. The he brings his table drinks..so what is wrong with helping your team mate out? He was already at the drink station? One more water gonna hurt ya. At this point my husband was very upset and just told the boy to get his manager. Danielle comes over again says she will have a water sent and says she will give us a discount for our trouble. My husband said just give us the check (2 hrs now) and let us get out of here. So she brings the check. Discount was given but the comped app that she said she would comp is charged, the pecans, for my Chicken pecan salad has an extra charges. I asked her about it she says, I never looked at the ticket...I thought " They" took care of it. What ? You are a manager and you did not even take the time to look and its "their" fault? she fixes..but this time we are irate and want to be heard. All Danielle says is yea mam....never validated our issues at all. Now I see the problem. BAD LEADERSHIP, and an attitude of its not my job, and its always someone else's fault attitude. I am in shock about this...obviously I am taking the time to write. Personally , after multiple complaints I think out whole meal should be comped. In the past 11 yrs this is the worst service I have ever seen at this place and will not be going back . In my line of work we are not allowed to think ..its not my job. I work for my company , I represent my employer and everything is my job. So needless to say I will be posting on all social media and posting to their corporate office complaint department. My family and I was on a road trip. Stop by Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for dinner. I noticed the restaurant was very dirty. We ordered SPINACH DIP for our appetizer and for dinner GRILLED SALMON AND NEW ORLEANS PASTA. The salmon was very dry and the pasta was ok. The best thing was the spinach dip. We were disappointed especially waiting 45 minutes for our table, I thought the food was going to be amazing . I should of went to Chili's. Oh and don't go in the bathroom. It was disgusting! The gas station bathroom was so much cleaner. Never again will we stop there to eat. read more

This place is exactly what I've been looking for since I moved to Texas. A simple restaurant that makes a variety of things well at a value. I've been to plenary of bbq which is amazing! I've been to plenary of Tex-mex places which is....well just weird. But Cheddars is where it's at! I got some cheesy bites which is a diabetic's dream! So good! The salad was also good.... We use to love this place. Haven't been in a long time. Then today happen. First off they got rid of my club sandwich! Not cool. So I ended up getting a buffalo chicken wrap. That was so nasty. It had NO FLAVOR! It tasted like they just breaded and fried some chicken without seasoning it, then tossed it in a bit of bottom barrel hot sauce, threw it on a Wrap with a tiny amount of lettuce and cheese and called it done. All of our fries were old and none of the food was hot. Barely warm. The manger took my wrap off and brought fresh fries, but we won't be back. I ordered the T bone steak to go. They placed the slab of steak on a large to go container with compartments. In other words, it did not lay flat on the container. I ordered it to be medium rare but it is more medium well. The steak was very hard to cut to bite size pieces and it became chewy as it got colder. My husband and I went to Chedders on 1/21/24 at 11:15 am and was really looking forward to some good comfort food. The hostess sat us in the back of the restaurant. There was no one in our section so it was nice and quiet and the server passed by us several times carrying bar drinks to some lucky customers! Just did curbside..... queso and and chicken Cesar pasta salad.....queso was almost empty.... definitely looks like they scraped the bottom of the pot to fix my order..... thick and clumpy..... cesar is WAY over dressed .... most restaurants do the dressing on the side with to go salads so the greens dont get soggy..... guess I ll have to remember to do that myself next time I order.....I mean I ll definitely be back, I love cheddars.... and the curbside guy was really nice too.... guess I just caught them on an off day today.... read more

My wife and I had a very good experience at Cheddar's a week or two ago. We haven't been to a Cheddar's in a long time, and I don't know why but we never think about coming here when we want to go out. Well, that's gonna change. My wife and I sat at the bar like we usually do at restaurants and were immediately greeted by the friendly bar tender. She handed us menus and asked for our drink order. She was extremely swamped but took the time to look us in the eye and understand what we wanted. We noticed and definitely appreciated it. Our food was brought out very quickly and overall we really enjoyed the meal. My one ding on the restaurant, and this is a Cheddar's in general thing, not just specifically this location is that while the drinks are 'pretty' they're for the most part pre-made and super sugary. With the volume they're doing I don't know how they could make custom drinks, but the super sugary drinks just are not my style. Like I said, we definitely enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere was great and the service was superb. We will definitely be back. read more

When they brought the food out it looked like it was missing something, so I had to rip the plastic bag open (why do they have to double tie it) to see what was in it. It was missing two sides that I had ordered. If that wasn't bad enough, when I got home I realized that they hadn't put the gravy in the bag for the mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak!!! Cheddars at Sage Trail, used to be FABULOUS! BUT.....not any more. The prices are good the food is ok. We went last night, Sunday evening at 6pm. Some what busy. FIRST off: NO one at the hostess area. There were 4 staff people in site cleaning 1 table, one girl looked over at us standing by the hostess thing and looked away. Then she disappeared for a couple of minutes and finally showed up as the hostess!! So we just wanted to be seated in the bar area, which does require a hostess to seat you. So we were seated. NEXT in the bar area there was another two girls at a hi top chatting, and one was wrapping silverware, but mostly chatting with the other girl. We Wait.... This is getting busier by the minute. None of the staff were concerned about people coming in or that they couldn't even see the entrance . Oh I forgot to mention that while the staff was goofing off there were 3dirty tables in the bar area that needed to be cleaned. THIRD...this girl comes up to our table with a plate of croissants with out a word. I told her we didn't want any croissants. She said there complimentary, I told here we are on a diet and don't want bread. Besides which they had been covered with fake butter squeezed ALL over them! Yuck! Normally the croissants are buttery and honey delicious as they are. So I asked the girl if she was our waitress, she was. She was nice but needed training on how to approach a new table and introduce her self. So all and all this Cheddars is not being managed well I guess. Such a shame! read more
