I can't say the food was bad at all so let's start with the positive. Nice spice on the chicken. I didn't get the bun (I'm Gluten Free) but it was still good. Not many mushrooms and a tiny - tiny amount of avocado for $1.64. Next time I'll make sure I have my own at home. ( this was a delivery order) Fries were cold but again it was a delivery. There was no sauces offered so that's not a thing. I can't say they were bad, I am full but if someone who eats a lot ordered here they'd be still hungry. Yep still a 4 star because - well because I would still order again and simply opt out if the avocado and make sure I have my own sauce. read more

My To-Go order took 14 minutes as I sat in my car with my dog after ordering online. Walking in to get my order, the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy yet modern. If I didn't have my dog with me, I'd have eaten inside. I ordered: Marinated chicken breast with Swiss, bacon, avocado and mayo on toated wheat bun. Sweet potato fries. Side of Ranch dressing. Absolutely delicious! The drive home was 1.1 mls. I tasted the fries immediately: hot, crispy, and so flavorful! By the time I arrived home and plated my meal, the first bite of my burger was only warm and my fries were kind of chilly, but that's not their fault. Being 104° out today, Wed, 7/22/26, I'm sure my fans in the home on high contributed to my meal cooling off. The in-house-made ranch dressing is fantastic! My chicken breast tasted fresh, juicy and cooked just right. They put just the correct amount of basil mayo on my toasted bun, so no over-saturation was appreciated! The avocado tasted fresh and I enjoyed the mushiness of it. My bacon was ordered crispy. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS Good job, Chapps! You've come a long way since 1984 when you first opened! The great tastiness of your food puts you high on my burger restaurant list now. read more

Like many other reviewers I agree that there are much better burger places not far from this location. My burger was dry and crispy unlike others that were greasy. The burger was meh and yes expensive for what you get. I probably wouldn't serve it on such a huge plate. The service was fair and the ambiance was quiet. read more

FAILURE. Against my better judgment, and wanting to please my dad, we ordered two turkey burgers online for pickup. They had different toppings and that is all we ordered. My dad went to pick them up and when he got home we found the young employee had given him the wrong order!!! We had to drive back over there to get the issue resolved. I spoke with "Sam", who I was told was/is the supervisor. I asked for the manager and was told "Savans" was not there. "Sam" looked somewhat confused and naive while being apologetic. I told her that staff there have made mistakes with our order several times in the past and I wanted her to "make the situation right." She indicated she would issue a credit (but could not give me any sort of receipt). I cannot speak for my dad because he lives in Keller, is a picky eater, and there are very limited dining options in town (I live in San Antonio and lived in Austin before that, and Keller has nothing in comparison). I will NEVER eat or order anything from Chapps again. The staff are either poorly trained, apathetic, or a combination of both. Perhaps a responsible adult manager or supervisor onsite would help? PATHETIC. read more

It has been a long time since my last review, so doing a refresh. :) A good spot for high quality beef burgers; much better than fast food type burger places. Good fresh vegetables as well. And, for your vegan or vegetarian friends, they do offer a good quality blackbean based burger (not my style, but my wife tried it a few times and said it was very good). 5 stars for being very good at what they present themselves as: high quality burgers and good fixings! Nothing fancy; we usually grab our to-go. read more

I always order the "little" burger and it is perfect cooked and topped to order. I've never had a bad burger there.

Stopped by hear this weekend due to the hype I've heard on Yelp, and of course I took the bait. The establishment is clean, and restrooms were clean, so that is a plus. Customer service was ok, nothing special. Ordered the 2 Baby Chapps, one order of fries, and 2 drinks, and for that, it was over $30? I really was expecting a burger that was out of this world, and this burger was as plain as fast food. I'll even admit, that the presentation of the burger was great, but it really fell flat on flavor. Thank goodness for the rest of the toppings on this burger. I read a yelp review that this burger house was mouthwatering? The only mouthwatering performance on this Chapps visit was me when my mouth stayed open looking at the bill. I guess these days, your going to have to expect shelling out extra on mediocre meals, and have your bank gouged. No this didn't bankrupt me, but I think it's sad, when a meal like this costs so much just to help pay overhead. read more

One of the best burgers I've had in a while. Fries too! That had the right amount of seasoning. We'll be coming back for sure.

I suppose this does qualify as "gourmet burgers", even though I still tend to at least personally put on the extra-top end of fast food burgers, just 'cuz it's counter service. But that's just "classifying", it's super good. And if you're like me and occasionally in the mood for something less beefy, I not only really like their turkey burgers, and even their veggie patties, that I'll come specifically for it. I can never get turkey patties this good at home no matter how much I've tried. Good stuff!!! And the service is ALWAYS great, they must be managed well, 'cause they always appear happy. read more

Went here before the pandemic hit. It's really clean inside and the staff are friendly and efficient. The prices are on the cheaper side but the burgers are meh at best. I almost never give a one review. Tonight was a horrible show of customer service for Chapps. My wife and I came out of a late appointment one block over and walked into Chapps at exactly 8:50pm. Now I'm usually the guy that hates walking in late but we both really wanted a good burger. There was still people eating and an Open sign on because they close at 9pm. We stood at the counter with a young man for 5 minutes and he was taking our order. I sensed that he was nervous and found out why when he took my credit card to pay. The nerve of this kid to take my credit card then stop (it's now 8:55pm) and say "we close at 9 and it's my brothers birthday today can we make it to go for you". I may be old school but this is really bad business. We turned around and walked out and will never step foot in again. I certainly hope this is isn't the way management teaches them. read more

$20 for a burger fries and a drink is a little pricy. Waited over 20 minutes...not great customer service. Plenty of other options. My family went to the food options next door and finished their meal and mine still wasn't done! read more

I don't do burgers often anymore. So, when I do get a burger, I want to be sure it'll be good. Chapps has become my go-to burger place. The quality is consistent and the burgers are delicious. There are fewer options than some other places and the fries are good (but not the very best), but it's just so reliable! I've taken guests before and all six people so far have approved. I'm a fan. read more

Friendly service, good burger, yummy sides. As an ambassador to Goodstock by Nolan Ryan, they have quality - high concern for animal welfare - beef, which comes with a price. The old location was so much better! The service was friendly and helpful, but the food wasn't great. I say this because the burgers were very dry and cold, and burgers should be juicy and hot!!! The restaurant itself was clean and looked trendier than the old location. read more

The food is usually good but The manager is very rude to customers and staff. Tried calling in an order and got hung up on twice.

UPDATE: I just scrolled through the reviews and notes the business owner commenting their default done-ness for burgers is MEDIUM WELL. If this is not to your liking, let them know at as you order. I tried Chaps 10 years ago when it was at the old location. Never went back. I figured it's been awhile and they have a new location, I'll give it a try. Place is clean and bright. The burger was uninspired and overcooked. They flagged it with a Nolan Ryan Beef flag: I'll pass if this is what his beef is like. I ordered the burger with onions and they put fried onions on it, not raw. Not sure if this is their default or if it was a mistake by the counter person. The fries were like little pieces of fries. I had to use a fork for half of the order. Bathroom was clean. Yeah, they have burgers and fries but, still not for me. I'll check back again in ten years. read more

I've never been to Chapps in my life. The other day we happened to be shopping at the town center, and it happened to be dinner time, so we happened on in. We visited this new location for the first time. It was good, not great. The location in North Richland Hills is way better based on this visit. I met a a long time friend here who said that they were really really hungry. And needed a GUUUUUd Burger. Well thanks to my fellow North side of 45 Yelpers I chose Chapps. My friend told me I made a wise choice because the burgers were HUGE. However, at the time I was looking at the Nolan Ryan Hot-Dog. I asked the cashier which should I have-the Burger or Dog. He said Burger. So I choose the the Bacon Burger all the way -no cheese. And we shared the an order of the Works fries (she didn't want to seem greedy). The Works fries had were loaded fries with melted cheddar, bacon (large chunks/broken pieces) jalapenos and ranch. Nuff said!!! While we caught up on history i noticed that restaurant was really clean. Well, when the food came out there was no let down my burger was big and juicy-you know juicy-when you have to wipe your mouth after every bite. And the fries were not ordinary, i would get a few and then get a few more, and then get few more... read more

It was a decent above-average burger. The staff was nice but the place looked like no one cleaned up after an afternoon rush. About 1/4 of the tables were dirty and anther 1/4 were taken. Again, good burger, but not "$20 for a burger, fries and soda" good. read more

Not kid approved! First time here. My burger was good. But they don't have kids burgers. Instead the choice is chicken or grilled cheese. My 5 year old got grilled cheese. I thought it was a decent enough burger. They are not offering dine in due to Covid, but the food was made to order and came out in less than 15 minutes. I ordered the small chapps combo which came with a smaller hamburger and a side of fries. It was $.8.42 after tax and was plenty of food- larger than a kid's meal which is what I thought it was. The food was fresh, flavorful and hot. I liked that you can make it your own with a variety of toppings. Reminded me of 5 guys, but half the cost. I would choose this over 5 guys any day - it's not as satisfying as 5 guys, but I think it was a good deal for what I ordered. read more

Knowing you could have a Chapps Burger, why would you want to go anywhere else? I mean come on, have you seen these massive meat monsters they hoist on a bun? They are huge! And Tasty!! And Wonderful!!! The Knockout Burger (1/2 pound with mozzarella, fried egg, bacon, bacon, bacon, basil mayo lettuce and tomato is appropriately named. This burger "Hit the Spot" and will "whip" your hunger pains into submission. And about the French fries. Those of you who have read my other reviews know how much I love fresh hand cut french fries, well Chapps has created a Cajun Fry that you must try, it packs a punch!
