It's been a couple of years since we've been here, because of the quality of food and service. We came on 3-21. The wait was horrible. The food worse. The ribs were tasteless. Lots of grizzle. The loaded baked potato, once I took two bites, the rest of the potato had no other toppings on it. It took 1/2 for our drinks. 45 minutes for our food which mostly left uneaten because of the flavor. We waited for a hot fudge cake sundae. We waited 1/2 for this. Seriously, it came out with completely melted. Completely!!! My husband complained about it to the waiter, and he literally said, "nah, it's just flat ice cream!!!!" Seriously!!! My husband had a hair in his Grilled White Fish. And he got another in hair in the fudge cake!!! This was his birthday. We got here at 4:30 and just got the sundae at 6:30. My husband was craving the cheese bites, the only reason we came here. The only dipping is ranch. No marinara sauce. We will not be coming here again, EVER!!! read more

Stopped for a quick lunch. Service was great. Good had great flavor, but my steak was over cooked. Still very good!

We were interested in having fish to start with, until we heard what was being served was Swai... which is a highly toxic, farm raised fish. So we both chose the ribeye which seemed to be of very low quality, with a lot of waste and unfortunately neither were cooked to our order. A loaded baked potato consists of cheese and sour cream only? Over all, it seemed like a lot of money for less than mediocre food. If it wasn't for the spinach dip being decent, this meal would have been a total bust! To top it off, I ended up having to take something for a very upset stomach within an hour of walking out the door! Thank God for activated charcoal! read more

I'm from Findlay, Ohio. Back home we have a Cheddar's and it's not the best at all. This week my family, and I are staying in Fort Wayne due to poor circumstances. And the staff was amazing. My sister joined me for a snack and a drink, and this was her first time at Cheddar's. She and I were literally welcomed with Love, smiles, and compassion. And all I want to say is Kevin (the manager) and Brittany (I think was her name, a bartender) are amazing people and deserve more credit than ever. Thank you guys for a great time. I am giving them five stars because they have the best batter for frying. It produces light, flaky, crunchy fried foods. Their onion rings are the best. My daughter. Had a chicken fried steak and it looked amazing. I wish they had fried chicken. I think the closest thing they have to that is county fried chicken, but I haven't had it. I liked the staff but honestly the food was nothing to write home about. Don't get me wrong it was good but it was not goooooddddd! I had the fried shrimp and chicken fingers, my husband had ribs and chicken. We received our food really fast which was great, but in your mind you are thinking: how come it came so fast ? The first thing I noticed is it was not very hot, not burn your mouth hot but I think it should have been warmer. My dipping sauce choice was honey mustard, the combo was correctly done. My husband knows ribs and he knows his chicken. He felt like the ribs were baked not grilled, some like it baked others like it grilled, what can I say The beverages were great. Both of us had an order of french fries and coleslaw. Both of us liked the fries but the coleslaw was really good. I had a diet Dr. Pepper, my husband had a strawberry lemonade, he really liked it. I had a sip it was very good. We both decided we would return but we would definitely try different items. The wait was not to long but it took us for ever to get the food. It took over 45 minutes for the food. I love the chicken pot pie but at this location the chicken pot pie does not have alot of chicken, there is not much ingredients in it and it's very runny. The problem was they did not cook the Pot Pie long enough and that was why it was very soupy with uncooked ingredients. The Mishawaka IN location the pot pie is much better and it had more ingredients and it's fuller. My friend got a chicken shrimp salad and the shrimp was cold but our waiter gave us 3 more shrimp that were some what warm but not hot. The kitchen is having a lot of problems with getting our food hot. I will probably not be coming back to this location. Our waiter was excellent and he will be tipped well even though the food was not good. The manager comped the two chicken pot pie meals which was nice but it would of been nice to get a meal that was cooked properly. The best part of the meal was the onion rings. read more

I know they serve wonderful food at this establishment as my son and I tried it just two days prior to this event. I decided to take the family there at 6:40pm on Saturday. They looked busy but far from full. At 6:55 we decided to leave to leave because we couldn't even place a drink order. It was obvious how our visit would go. I did mention to the manager as we were leaving. He was very kind and apologized. Offered for us to stay but the family was already out the door. Went here with my hubby to use a gift card we received for Christmas. Our server, Michael, was great, and the food was very good. I wish I could give a higher rating , but this establishment needs scrubbed down! When entering the restaurant, we noticed the floors were in need of sweeping as there was literally dropped food here and there as well as paper, etc. When seated, we noticed our table felt sticky, and the window blind slats were covered in a layer of dust (Not appetizing). But the topper was the restrooms. Both were in need of major attention! I know there are worker shortages, but I question the sanitation of the kitchen when the cleanliness of the restaurant is in such poor condition. read more

Cheddars is reliable when you want a night out that isn't going to cost you a lot of money. They have good food, at prices most places offered many years ago. Cocktails are reasonable too. I like to get the flavored iced teas personally. Environment is nice, and the restaurant is usually pretty clean. It is known to have a considerable wait on the weekends, so don't be surprised. It's not a secret, if someone knows about cheddars one of the main reasons they like it is because of value. read more

My wife and I have been here before and we've always enjoyed the food and the hospitality. Tonight was no different. We had an exceptional waitress in the bar area. I had the half rack of ribs and my wife had the cornmeal crusted fish meal. I tried some of hers and I really liked it. I've always gotten good ribs here. I would give it a 0.5 but it's not an option, and only because the food was edible.... Waited 35 minutes on a Saturday night at 5:30, not so bad. But then we were sat down , cold air hitting our table the entire time. Took 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We watched our waitress complain the bartender for 10 minutes instead of getting a bottle of ketchup my daughter had asked for. The worst service and management you'll find in Fort Wayne. After waiting 40 minutes for our drinks, never receiving our appetizer and salads, we finally called for a manager to complain. She had a horrible attitude and was very disrespectful. While we were explaining why we were unhappy, she put her hand up as if to "shoosh" us. She told us "Well, I don't know what you want me to do about it" then threw her hands up and stomped away. Not only that, but the servers can be seen in clusters in the corner socializing with each other and obviously gossiping about customers. This place is just the worst. read more

This was our first time at a Cheddars restaurant. We had an amazing meal. Everything was cooked perfectly. Don had the salmon, coleslaw and broccoli/cheese casserole of course because he always makes healthier choices than I do. I had an 8 oz. steak, baked potato and steamed broccoli, with lots of butter. The food was fantastic. The service was equally fantastic. Our server was, Brooke, the actual bartender of the restaurant. She sometimes doubles as a server if you happen to be seated in the bar area. We didn't order drinks but I can only imagine how good they would be if she's as good a bartender as she was a server. Not only was she attentive, but thinking back, she took our entire order, never once writing anything down. We were just here in town for one night but if we're ever passing through again, we'll definitely stop in Cheddars. If you're in Fort Wayne, stop by and order a drink at the bar. One of the worst expletives I've had in ages. Obviously mismanaged and short staffed. Kitchen didn't deliver one of the meals and the two that were, were soggy instead of crisp. Service was seriously lacking due to being understaffed and not training the hostess on over seating a section. This place is truly a joke. The only thing that was decent about this place was the drinks. The food is bland, the atmosphere is entirely too loud, and the service is frankly god awful. I went there with my family for a nice night out and when we were shown to our table, they claimed to be out of clean silverware and proceeded to give us plastic to-go forks and napkins. I used to love coming to cheddars but it seems that for the last two years the service and food quality has really gone downhill yet I don't to go about every 7 months just in case it has changed. It's to bad because I really want to love this place again but after today's visit I just cannot go there any more. I have noticed they have increased the food prices which I understand, but on the same token the staff friendliness and sense of time as diminished severely as well as the quality of food. Today a manager walks up to me And Said she heard about the issue. And wanted to explain it again. I told her what the waiter said at The table. Still thinking that our waiter lied to us and that I don't want him to serve us I requested another server. Management was fine with that and introduce us to our new server. With the new one tho she was equally in no hurry to work my daughter and I had to flagnger down for everything. The management was very helpful and wanted to make us both happy. In the end she took off the kids meal since I had a coupon for a complimentary appetizer. Our queso and chip appetizer was ok. The cheese came out hot but the chips were as if they came for the bottom of the chip basket and half of them were burned. The salsa that comes with it was very watered down. The chicken tenders were ok. The batter is a little on the spicy side now and the chicken was full of gristle and hard spots. I had a side of broccoli that came out cold and rubbery. We took most of it home and left the bad. It's really a shame because this used to be a great place to go and eat. I will not return. To many mistakes over several visits. I was very unexcited by this restaurant. My co workers and I had to go here because we weren't able to eat anywhere else since it was 10 pm and everything else was closed besides IHOP(which I would have preferred). We were seated in the bar. Our waiter was pretty inattentive. I asked for a milkshake to be brought out during appetizers. I didnt get it til dinner and it was pretty bad. I ordered a crispy chicken salad. I got one dressing and I used it up really quickly. I asked for another and I didnt get it until after the checks were brought out. A great dining experience. We arrived rather late because we didn't get into town or our hotel room until late. The restaurant closed at 10 pm and we arrived at 9:30 pm. Our server was very kind and he gave us wonderful service. I had a small sirloin steak with a baked potato, my husband had the Philly steak sandwich. Both were delicious. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but today was not good! When we told the hostess there were 11 in our party, she argued with us and said there were only 9. When we were seated and she realized that there were 11, they pulled a table out for the 2 extra. Once we were seated, we realized the extra table was broken and wobbled so much that the salt and pepper shakers were sliding off. When we requested a new table from our server, she said she would look for a 'legit' table. She came back with the manager who told us that there was nothing that could be done. We placed a few menus under the table and made it work. Upon ordering, several of us were sharing meals and our waitress seemed annoyed that not everyone was having a full meal. After the table beside us left, we switched their table with ours, making us feeling better...until the waitress 'caught' us. One person in our party ordered their salad specifically without croutons and when it arrived there were croutons on it. Followed by a sigh from the waitress when it was pointed out. Our food was delicious! They comped our appetizers, which came after our meal. I will return, but in hopes that next time will be better! read more

Something always seems to disappoint me each visit. I think some of the plants in here must have a horrible odor; something literally smelled like urine on one visit and I really hope it wasn't our waitress. Another time we went with my husband's married co-worker and our young, classless waitress was making a fool of herself attempting to flirt with him - then brought me some horrible potato soup without a spoon... thanks. Guess I'll put my straw in it? The last visit I paid extra for their delicious croissants and our waiter just never showed up with it. If my husband didn't like their spasagna, we'd probably NEVER go here. Service is horrible and most of the food isn't much better. It's always a disappointment when a favorite restaurant starts slipping. Today, Cheddar's fell from one of our regular choices to one we will probably never patronize again. I'm sure the food would have been fine, as usual, but a customer can't order food without a wait staff. I can be patient and I am easy to keep happy, but I will not be disrespected. Entering Cheddar's at 11:30 AM Sunday, April 29, we encountered five people standing in their black servers' outfits. After a few minutes of chatting with each other, one greeted us and took us to a remote corner passing plenty of open sections that would have been much easier to get service. The black-clad group dissipated and completely disappeared except for three who meandered around chit chatting until they found another spot out of the way to continue the conversation. Other than the girl who seated us, no one even looked our way for the ten minutes we waited. That would have been fine had there been more than two or three other tables occupied in the restaurant. Not only did no one ask for drink orders, no one even greeted us and it had become painfully clear they were not going to. As we walked out of the restaurant, we passed three groups of employees, one of three girls comparing their nails and talking about the weekend, two boys who looked to be waiting to bus a table, and three or four girls standing at the greeter table inside the front door. I stopped by to point out that they needed to be aware of their customers and that we were leaving because of a lack of service. The girls just looked at me. No one tried to remedy the situation. No one apologized, said goodbye, or anything else. All just looked at me unconcerned and with no interest. For every dissatisfied customer who leaves a business, it takes seven satisfied customers to undo the damage that one person normally does. There isn't a thing on Cheddar's menu that is worth returning for. There is nothing unique and it certainly isn't inexpensive. Fort Wayne is a city of restaurants and we will be fine without returning to be treated in such as disrespectful, unconcerned manner. Wonder what chain will take the cite of the once stellar Cheddar's? I hope they have the sense not to hire any of the current crew. read more

Husband and I love this place. We have been coming here for 5 years and it's still one of our favorites.. had to wait about a half hour to be seated but sure worth the wait... we had the spinach dip and we shared the steak and chicken strip meal... it was like heaven in your mouth the salads is amazing with the crescent and the steak and chicken had a great taste... and well the spinach dip is always great.
