Come on cheddars you can do better. I've been here before, and I found that the food was cooked well but this most recent time it was quite disappointing. The free croissants that you get at the beginning of the meal were not cooked through literally when you bit into them, it was like the dough inside had not experienced any heat. I wish I took a picture of that. My ribeye was cooked perfectly, which is always a plus and at that price point it's a steel. My wife who had another entrée unfortunately had steamed broccoli and somehow the broccoli was completely raw and not cooked. I don't know how that oversight could happen if it's supposed to be steamed broccoli. Service was good and attentive. They did come and refill your water. Overall, it's very hard for me to give them a two star, but I wish that they were better. Some of those mistakes could result in food poisoning. Luckily, nothing bad happened with a consumption of undercooked croissant.

Nice affordable family restaurant with great options. Staff were friendly and we got sat right away. They had great recommendations and a happy hour going on. Food tasted good but the quality was lacking.

Great margaritas and service. We like to visit when we come to Ft. Wayne. We sat inside the bar and it was comfortable and clean. Nice menu done right. They do need to bring back Cajun Chicken Fingers. Don't know when they stopped serving them but BIG MISTAKE.

I came to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen because last year we got some gift cards gifted to us from this restaurant. We decided to finally try it, hoping it was good. Overall, it was not. There were certainly some good/great points to our experience at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, but the negatives outweighed the positives. Lets start with one of the biggest negatives, the service. I am not sure of our waiter was new, but the service definitely lacked. For instance, my mother specifically asked that on her baked potato soup for it be plain, it came with bacon and cheese. My mother asked for her grilled chicken alfredo not to have broccoli, it came with brocolli. My brother had to wait over 10-15 minutes more after we got our food to get his bacon cheeseburger. We do not know if the kitchen or waiter messed up there, but its bad when one person on the table has to watch the rest eat, waiting for his food. The food was a mixed bag. We got an appetizer to start off, which was the Cheddar's Sampler trio. It came with chicken tenders, queso dip and artichoke dip. The chicken tenders were delicious. The queso dip and artichoke dip were terrible, some of the worst we have ever had. My mom did not like her main course. My brother though his burger was mediocre. I did love my Texas t-bone steak. The star of the meal, oddly enough, were the honey butter croissants. As good as the croissants were, it should not be the only thing some members at the table say was the only thing they enjoyed about their meal. Not sure if we will come back.

She made great recommendations and helped us decide based on our time constraints. She was attentive and gave us a lot of information about the food, live music, DJ and art for sale on all the walls. We weren't super hungry, so we tried the flatbread - sooo good. I will be back because the whole menu, including the drinks, sound wonderful. They offered zero spirit, GL and other substitutions if needed which is nice. The atmosphere has a moody, darker hang out vibe to it. I loved it and can't wait to bring some friends and family back! She recommended reservations on the weekends, especially on "First Fridays" as that's when they do events and an art crawl on Broadway when the weather is nice. We parked on the street in front of the building so I'm not sure if there is a parking lot. They do have outdoor seating as well in the front of the building. I remember when this location was a food co-op waaaaaaay back in the day. They did a great job transforming it into a relaxing bar and restaurant. We will go back and I highly recommend you check it out!

But then you're presented with this shiny chandelier, illuminating this wide chamber, and hovering over a smooth, curved bar. The sides of this huge dining space are lined with dining tables, and walls lined with artwork, making the name quite appropriate. Subtle haloes of light dot the ceiling, and the color palette of the place (besides that big ol' chandelier) is dark, cool, and easy on the eyes. I took a seat at the main bar and was served within minutes. I enjoyed some light pop, rap, and classic rock tunes bumping in the background while I sipped on a delightful Smoked Apple Reserve. Every sip was a punch of sweetness, followed by an air of smokiness, and just a splash of herby aftertaste. It was however, not the kind of drink you could chug, so I sipped slowly throughout my meal. I'll have to come back for the appetizers, as I hear they're the star of the show, but neither the flatbreads nor the traditional bar-fare excited me. Thanks to Yelp though, I learned of the Blueberry and Brie Grilled Cheese, which I'd initially dismissed due to my dislike of Brie - the cheese and her portrayal of Captain Marvel, let's be honest. But I gave it a chance and ~woah~ it was something else. First of all, it's a perfectly cooked grilled cheese, with a flaky, crunchy exterior and addictingly cheesy inside, however I was ~taken aback~ by the flavor. I think I honestly had a Ratatouille moment, where that flavor of berry compote transported me to my childhood, chowing down on blueberry pancakes on Friday morning before school. At the same time, it doesn't dominate the flavor profile - it adds a subtle and satisfying sweetness to the creamy richness of the melted Brie, and it does it oh so well. The plentiful pieces of proscuitto provided some palatable protein, while also being a contrast in flavor and feel to the Berry and Brie. The fries were a little heavy on the straight potato flavor and not so much on seasoning and salt, but some garlic aioli did the trick there. The service was superb and the atmosphere was nothing like I've experienced in this city. I didn't expect to love this place as much as I did, but I can't wait to come back to try more apps, drinks, and return to that beautiful blueberry and brie...

Bubba's Lasagna - Everything you wanted the lasagna to be. Not greasy, good flavor, and the focaccia bread is artisan quality. 5/5 stars. Salmon - Good portion size but overcooked and dry. Waites was prompt and fortunately we ordered immediately. That proved to be a good choice because the kitchen went down shortly after. Our order was process but the other booth was not. My California chicken was delicious, with just the right amount of lime. My wife ordered a tenders plate. It was all great. The reason for four stars? The consistency of the service was very questionable. We had children with us and their meal came out even before our drinks came. There are five entrees to go along with a small amount of burger, chicken tender and appetizer choices. I went with the burger of the month - the pizza burger. The friendly waiter said the pizza sauce was made in house from scratch. The sauce was outstanding! It was thick and sweet with a bold tomato paste taste. The bun was soft and slightly grilled with a buttery flavor - very nice! It is odd that the burger is served in halves and vertical. The burger patty was very thin and cooked to a medium well done consistency - I would prefer medium rare but they didn't ask my preference. I thought the burger was over cooked and a bit tough/crunchy on the edges. It did have and nice high quality meat flavoring as it is sourced locally. The burger was covered with grilled pepperoni. This added a nice "pizza" flavor when combined with a nice bedding of mozzarella cheese. My wife really liked her chicken tenders. They were nice and moist. The breading was unique, tasty and crispy. She said the fries were very good while the best part might have been the house fry dipping sauce. That sauce was a nice combination of southwest and traditional meat flavorings. The side salad, to replace the fries, was fresh yet very small. The salad came in a half-ball type dish that was slightly larger than half a baseball. The half ball was actually unstable to eat out of. I had to cup the bowl with one hand to keep it from tipping over. The salad had a few side tomato and pepper parts added. There just isn't much room for things in this small of a dish. We decided to try the strawberry bread pudding for dessert. This was a fantastic dish! The breading was basically two pieces of fried French toast. It was soft on the inside with a cinnamon swirl and strawberry pieces. The breading was drizzled with a thin moderately sweet strawberry flavored syrup. The syrup was accompanied by some fresh whipped cream also bathed in syrup. Overall, Ducky's does have good food. They have a limited menu at moderately expensive prices. My preference would be to sit down and enjoy the scratch made items versus squeezing them in while you bowl. Also consider dinning at Ducky's and walking across the street the Pearl Arts Center for a program.

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.
