I have previous experience dining at Cheddars in Ohio. As it opened here in Daytona i decided to give it a try. Last night was my 3rd time going to this one and my experience was in overall a disappointment. I went with a group of friends and everyone had a problem with their food. the manager approached our table and only took care of one problem, he made a sarcastic remark and did not care to ask how everything else was. being the manager, he should be aware of all the problems our table had and he was clueless. he was rude, and does not have the skill to manage a restaurant. as we watched the manager walked away and sat down at a booth with some people instead of proceeding with his job. food was average, thankfully the prices are great . server was clueless !!! read more

I went there last night with my daughter and granddaughter hoping for a pleasant experience. The service was horrible, my granddaughter received her salad 20 minutes after receiving our meals. The waiter came to ask if I needed more water I said yes, but never received it. He acted as if he wished he were somewhere else. He never apologized for not getting it when he gave us our bill. On the 5th of January I stopped into Cheddar's #1001 located at 1770 W. International Blvd. in Daytona Beach, Florida for a quick bite to eat. I was seated pretty quickly but it was ten minutes before my server acknowledged my presence, by that time I was ready to order a beverage. I ordered a top shelf Long Island Ice Tea then took that opportunity to wash my hands in the rest room, which I must say was neat and immaculate. I returned to my booth and five minutes later I was presented with a glass of water that had a lipstick smudge on the rim. I caught the attention of the woman who took my beverage order and reminded her of my request, she promptly returned with my drink. The only problem is that it tasted as if it was made with liquor conjured from alcohol during prohibition in the 1920s. So too recap of the twenty minutes spent thus far: a lipstick smudged glass of water and an adult beverage that smelt of bathtub gin. Yummy! I caught the attention of my waitress and told her my plight with the grain alcohol drink she tried to serve me. She promised to fix it and took my order. I ordered a steak done medium rare with a loaded baked potato, broccoli casserole and a side Caesar salad. Ten minutes later the second attempt to get my drink correct was placed in front of my by a sloppily dressed young man. As god as my witness it tasted as sweet as an Arizona Iced Tea and as virgin as a prom queen before prom night. At that time I attempted to approach management but I kept getting the runaround and after trying to speak to four different people I sat back down and waited for the server to bring me my check. During that time I tasted the food and the salad was as dry as the Sahara Desert, the baked potato was as loaded as a Nerf toy gun with no ammo and the steak did not have any sear marks. The meat actually reminded me of one of my ex-girlfriends who would put everything in a baking pan, but I will save that story for another time. I digress, anyway a different server told me that she was a supervisor and take care of the bill and that I can call in a few days to make sure of it. This morning I checked my bank statement and I was charged a total of $31.00 for a meal that I walked out on simply because I could not get proper service from any of the eight or nine people I encountered. I called the restaurant twice and the first time I was told to call back after noon and then when I called after noon I was placed on hold for fifteen minutes then it sounded like I was hung up on. read more

Went in with 8 people on Sunday at 11:45 and were seated immediately. Maybe it was just our luck. All our food was great. I had ribs with broccoli and Mac and cheese. I got the peach tea but it was too syrupy for me. Our server was really nice and very helpful. I love cheddars! read more

I'm not big on chains, and we've been to good and bad for Cheddar's but we love Cheddar's overall. We decided to stop in this new location on our way back from Daytona Beach. They sat us very quickly, service was very good and the food came out quick and was very good as well. With Cheddar's restaurants you have to bring your appetite as they serve very large portions and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. This my first time ever at a Cheddars. I was looking foward to it bc I have heard good things. It was not my favorite. My buffalo chicken wrap what bland and my co-worked had the blackened salmon and it was VERY bland. We did however have the combo app and it was tasty. The service was good as well. :) read more

This is my second time visiting this restaurant and will probably be my last. The service was great but there was absolutely nothing special about the meal. My entire meal did not even come out together. Only order was a simple burger fries and a side of broccoli. The fries came out five minutes after the meal. I was quite surprised about this. The reason I was surprised it's because the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I could not understand why you would not bring out a complete meal instead of making the server take out the fries after the fact. Cheeseballs that I had as a appetizer were so oily. Second time came here. Food was good. But the service was really bad. Appetizers came after we finish all entrées. And we needed to wait for the silver wears for 10mins after the food came out. Stopped here today on the way home from a weekend trip in Daytona. I really enjoyed it! We got onion rings and chips and salsa for appetizers which were both good. My chicken salad was very good. Really bad food and service. The employees looked lost don't know what they are doing or high. The food quality was horrible. The beans tasted like they came out of a can. Food is amazing here and definitely tastes homemade. They were busy but we were seated promptly. The place is beautiful inside. No need to dress up, you can dress casual and comfortable. Great prices with most meals under $10. Our server Jeffrey was great. He was very knowledgable regarding the menu and gave excellent suggestions. I would give it 5 stars however I did not have the best experience with the manager. I had a coupon to receive free chips & queso appetizer and presented it to our server. We received it and it was delicious. A few minutes after we received our entrée the manager came over. I thought she would ask how our food was. Instead she wanted to see proof of the coupon regarding the free app. I literally had to get my phone and go back through my emails to find it. Normally I really enjoy this place, but tonight was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Ordered the Sante Fe Spinach Dip which is usually my favorite. It came out with a piece of seran wrap on it so paired with the taste and look of it was clearly microwaved. Then we opened up our silverware which still had a lettuce leaf stuck to it, not clean. Our waitress, Jazmyn, never brought us refills until we were ready to leave. She never asked how the food was, and came and left before I could even blink. Our entree's were warm and then cold before we could really eat much which was bland anyways. Not to mention the non stop shivering because of how cold the place was. Worst experience ever. I've been to this place about 3 time now and let me tell you it is AWSOME!!! The service was amazing I never once had to ask for a refill the server (Jessica I believe ) just knew right way which is a big plus in my book!!! I'm not usually one for drinking more than one drink when dining out but their Pina Colada was EVERYTHING!...So nice I had to have it twice lol. Even their salad was delicious. I had the grilled chicken alfredo over pasta which was very well made and delicious, compliments to the chef on that. Very clean establishment, nice ambience, great for dates or group functions. Ok, a few weeks ago, my wife and I went to cheddars in Daytona beach. I got the bourbon-glazed salmon with 2 sides. They brought me the fish without the glaze and a side missing. Waiter brings me the side but no glaze. After 10 mins, he brought the glaze but it was straight from the fridge and would make my fish even colder than it already was from waiting. I tell him to just heat it up. He returns 10 mins later again and forgets. He finally brought it to me after my wife was already done....Awful experience. Until.....my wife and I returned on 4/10. Again, I got the bourbon with steamed broccoli and a salad after waiting about 12 minutes to have order taken. The food came out. Low and behold, my fish came out with hot glaze but no sides. After waiting 5 mins, she came to the table and asked how it was. I had to remind her I didn't get my side. She took another 10 mins to come back and gave me a good salad and mush for broccoli. I told her they were terrible and she stated " I thought they looked funny". I told her I wanted a baked potato with butter and cheese, no sour cream. She comes back a lifetime later and gives me a potato with only sour cream so I had to wait for another one. By this time my wife ate her food like the last time while I waited on mine. She brings me the potato and it was good but we were ready to go so I asked for the bill. She brings us the bill and doesn't apply the coupon so we had to wait for that. Her excuse for everything was that her kid kept her up or something. It was horrible service once again and this time we will not be going back. Our waitress even had an open gash on her wrist that wasn't covered up for some reason. We were very nice to her but it got old quickly, which is why we high-tailed out of there. My family and I went to this restaurant for my husband's birthday on Sunday. He ordered the Ribeye and baked potato. I ordered the fried shrimp and chicken tenders. Another guest also ordered the bourbon salmon with broccoli casserole. Everything was good with the exception of the Ribeye. It was tough and hard to chew. Let me start off by saying the service was great. The place was very clean and the portion sizes are amazing. However, the onion rings were bland. The chicken fried chicken was bland and the shrimp and chicken was bland. The only thing that wasn't bland was the key lime pie shooter and the cold slaw. The presentation of the food looked great. They just need to season the more. They want to be like a Cracker Barrel but the taste of the food is completely different. This was our 2nd visit. The 1st time, 4 months ago, was a total disaster. Customer service was non-existent, and the food was terrible. Today, the service was improved. 100 fold. The baked potato soup was hot, and tasty. My wife ordered the sirloin and chicken tenders to share with my daughter. Their food was mediocre at best. I ordered the 6 oz. sirloin with french fries and cole slaw. The steak was cooked to the proper temperature, but was so heavily seasoned as to be inedible. Our waitress was very courteous, and refired the steak immediately. The replacement. was properly. cooked and betterr seasoned, but overall the meal was unimpressive. I went to Cheddar's several times when it first opened and really liked the food, but it has gone downhill since then. Had dinner there today and was very disappointed. The wonderful Asian salad had been taken off the menu. Ordered the Caribbean Chicken/Shrimp entrée and my friend had salmon. Both arrived luke warm, and the cole slaw was also luke warm. We had to both send our dinners back to be reheated. When I asked the waitress about some bread, she said that no bread comes with the meal, but for an additional $3.99 I could order crescents. The least she could have done is given us a stale piece of bread because of our inconvenience. Will not go there again. read more

Food is non-spectular. Chips and salsa (beef included) not hard to be bad but... Kids enjoyed fries with bacon and cheese. Cheese burger ok. Hubby got a speghetti version of lasagna and said, "Um No." I got the appetizer with Wisconsin bites, chicken fingers asked to be dipped in Buffalo sauce and loaded baked potato skins. Chicken fingers came plain. Mentioned this to server and he said ok. Came back with what looked like splattered buffalo sauce. I was like No. Waitress made it as it should be. A nice casual place for lunch or dinner. We ate there yesterday for a late lunch. The building was very nice and the asmosphere was also nice. The service was good. We usually do not like chain restaurants but this was a little different then most.
