This Bubba Gump restaurant was a bit of a let down. Wait was long even when the restaurant was rather quiet. I noticed there were empty tables when the server was asking me how many people in my party. Had to wait at least 15 minutes before I was seated. 15 minutes isn't all the long but when you can see that the restaurant was fairly quiet and empty you wonder why. They were under staffed that evening. Aside from the logistics, the server that served us was friendly and helpful. Quick to take our order and was attentive to our needs. Wait was too long! The lobster seafood bucket tasted good, Cajun shrimp was good! If wait for table was not so long at 9pm, I would give a 4 star! We visited Friday night around 7:30 PM with a group of 15. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--only about 5-6 other tables--so we were expecting a solid experience. I will say our server was great--attentive, friendly, and did everything right. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. Almost every dish came out cold, dry, and overcooked to the point of being chewy. It also took a long time for the food to come out, which we understand with a large group--but for that kind of wait, the quality should have been much better. Between the long wait and poor food quality, it just didn't meet expectations. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

The highlight of our meal was the service. Our waitress Madison made our meal super special and we couldn't believe we remembered some of the movie trivia 30 years later! My mom and I went to this Bubba Gump location during a visit to Daytona Beach. We were looking for lunch and saw that this was nearby. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food wasn't the best. I had shrimp, but it was way too much sauce and felt very mayonnaise heavy which I ended up taking off because I wasn't a fan. The broccoli however, was pretty good although at first the waitress in training forgot to bring out half of it and our main waiter ended up bringing out the second half a little later. My mom was also underwhelmed by the preparation of her food. Lastly, overall inside the restaurant, it seemed pretty clean, but the bathrooms were out of order, apparently due to a recent accident and we were not able to use it during our visit. "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get..." but with the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant chain, you do know what you are going to get and I only wish things were a little more unpredictable. From the food to the service everything is pretty much routine and par for the course, and I just wish everything was more exciting as they have been around long enough to rethink their approach. Located in the Ocean Walk Village Shopping Center, this entire promenade has seen better times, but it was a walkable place that was safe enough for our group of diner to get to and enjoy as we were walking along the Daytona Beach Boardwalk during this past holiday season. Crowds were light and the wind was at its sharpest on this visit to the World Center of Racing. But our group was hungry enough to give this location of Bubba Gump Shrimp a try for a lunchtime visit, as they were not busy when we arrived and would only get moderately busy upon our departure. It would help with their service and the perception of busyness that most diners were sat in their more interior dining area that did not overlook the Daytona Beach Bandshell and the outdoor dining area that gives the perception of busyness perhaps during warmer days of business. Upon being sat in a booth, our party reviewed their menu, which was broken up into categories including Appetizers, Soups & Salads, From the Sea, From the Farm, Handhelds, Sides, Desserts and their Kids Menu. Since my friend and weren't super hungry we decided to split their Run Across America Sampler, which featured a combination of Fried Shrimp, Seafood Hush Pups, Chicken Tenders, Bubba's Far Out Dip, Tortilla Chips, and three sauces, cocktail, remoulade, and Maker's Mark Bourbon. Others in our party ordered your standard Burgers and Fish and Chips meals, while one junior member of our dining group would be satisfied with ordering their Kid's meal which would include their choice of Popcorn Shrimp, a side of French Fries and a carbonated soft drink for an extra fee. Despite the lack of business at the time when we arrived at this location, it would take a considerable amount of time for our food to be brought to our table. And unfortunately the wait would not be worth the time spent. There was nothing actually wrong with any of our dishes, as our junior diner liked their popcorn shrimp and French Fries, which came in a paper boat holder. My friend and I liked, but didn't necessarily love our appetizer sampler, of which the highlights were the sample of Bubba's Far Out Dip which was a combination of spinach, artichokes, tomatoes, and Monterey Jack Cheese that when we dipped our plethora of tortilla chips, we managed to savor each crunch. The fried foods at Bubba Gump Shrimp quite frankly are nothing to write home about and gives me pause in considering ordering additional items from their menu that are the deep-fried persuasion. The fact that two people were full from food that totals 21 dollars before tax and gratuity is added in tells you all you need to know about price points at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Would I return to Bubba Gump Shrimp in the future? This location in particular remains a work in progress as the crowds at Daytona Beach when we went were sparse at best. When there is no other option to dine at while strolling the Boardwalk tells me that the competition has seen better days, but at Bubba Gump Shrimp you can still at least get a decently priced meal that may satisfy your appetite. Perhaps knowing what you are going to get may be best after all. read more

This place seemed dirty. Sticky menus. The wait staff was nice but man it took forever to get our meal. Nearly an hour. We got appetizers fairly quick though. Honestly the food was very disappointing. We ate at the San Fran location years ago and it was delicious. This location the mahi was super fishy and dry. I couldn't eat it and I am not picky. The sauce and shrimp and mashed potatoes were good. The calamari was not greasy but was a bit salty. Not bad but not my favorite breading. The bang bang shrimp also was ok. We came here for a car club cruise with 12 people on a Saturday. It was early so the restaraunt wasn't packed but they didn't have a lot of wee ice staff in yet so the wait was about 45 minutes to be seated but the weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the beach walk area while we waited. They were going to seat us in the middle of a full section at an 8 top when it was time to sit but that wasn't going to work at all with the size of our group so they moved us into a cubby area which was still an 8 top table size but much more room for us to spread out our seats and make it work without sitting ontop of other tables and disrupting walkways. The food was good, I wouldn't say it was outstanding but worth its menu prices. The server was friendly and social. We had to wait a bit or ask a couple time for refills or remind her for stuff so she was a-little disorganized and flustered and vocal about being exhausted from just arriving from her other job but she handled our large group like a champ for the most part and even gave us a few good rounds of trivia at the end with a sense of humor. Waiter was super friendly and helpful. Food took way too long, they were essentially dead and still took forever. Upon arrival one dish the food was not hot but the plate was, waiter said it was probably because they were waiting on the kids meal (cheese pizza) to finish. The pizza was not cooked throughout. Went for a visit to this establishment with my car club after an event. The air seemed to not be working so it was very hot inside but the waiter was nice enough to allow us to move outside. Overall the view was great and the food was decent. I had a beyond burger and several people in my party had salmon. Their fries are very good and the adult beverage was on point. The food was pretty standard - not bad but not the best. This is a decent place to bring your family if you want seafood while you're walking the beaches. read more
