My wife and I are big fans of guacamole and ordered "guac this way." I love sandwiches and if are in the mood for a sandwich, this will hit all of the right spots. The cheese is melted and provides the added salty flavor with the stretchy texture you want from a grilled cheese sandwich. The protein is flavorful and moist. Unlike some places that add dried meat, the meat is tender and couple that with the melted cheese, you will get a flavorful bite as you scarf down your sandwich. The add ons compliment the sandwich and don't overpower it. So the guac on my sandwich elevated my sandwich to a different level where it's not just meat and cheese ( even though they could get away with it). Cheddar Box is a really cute food truck/farmer's market booth. I'm surprised that the line is always so long for these fancy cheese dishes, but people (including me) love their cheese so I can understand. I ordered the true grit menu special while I was at the farmer's market and would say it was pretty average. I subbed out the pepper jack cheese for gouda because I'm not a fan of spicy, but found it difficult to distinguish between the gouda and whatever the other cheese was on there. They basically put some cheese on both sides of a large scoop of grits and pan fry it to hold it all together, which took about 10 minutes. It ended up being really salty with the grits seasoning and the cheese all together. I would have preferred the cheese be mixed in to the grits instead of just being so heavily on the top and bottom because the cheese began to harden and it was difficult to cut into my food with a plastic fork. They definitely could have been more generous with the pico and avo toppings because that would have help cut some of the salty flavor. read more

I didn't try there famous grilled cheese but i did go for their "Notorious P.I.G." D-licious! Smoked sausage, pear, sage & sharp cheddar.
