Beef Inihaw (daily special)
Maggie L.

I've been here several times since my last review. Food has been consistently good, and the women who work here are always pleasant. My go-to is still the sisig (add a fried egg!) if you are dining in, sometimes they have the bangus sisig as a special. The adobo wings is delicious and such a good deal ($8.5 for 6 wings). Don't skip the green sauce, it's good with all the meat! Also look right after you order for some delicious (on the sweet side) dessert.

CheBogz was recommended to me by an organizationin Seattle. I reached out to them about a month (August) ago via text. After texting back and forth, I then received the menu, and then I sent my order via text. I asked then to send me an invoice via email. I didn't get the invoice, so I followed up. I was told to check my spam folder, which I did (it was in spam). When I reviewed the invoice, I realized some items were missing, so I asked for the invoice to be updated again. Trixia the owner then told me it was resent with the updates. So by now, we're now on the second invoice, I had to send it to my team for approval. Unfortunately, the team asked for more items.... I left a voicemail for this. Trixia responded via text to confirm the order (this was Sept 22). Finally, it was time to follow-up on the invoice again. I left a voicemail on 9/22 -- no one got back to me. I left another voicemail the following day 9/23 -- no one got back to me. On the same day, I reached out via text. I finally got a reply. I was asking for the invoice. Trixia sent "Invoice just Sent" I looked at my email and didn't find any invoice. She then said "can you please check your junk or spam?" I said "triple checked I didn't get it" she sent me a snapshot imageof the invoice. It turns out they misspelled my email. So I said, wrong spelling, please correct my email. I then texted "This is so frustrating to be honest" She texted back: "Yes, I know it as this is the 4th or 5th time I am sending this invoice. I am currently sending right now." I said: "No this just the third" -- after checking how many times we've gotten the invoice. I said: "I got two invoices but I can't help it if the decision maker has changes" She said "Exactly so this is frustrating both ends. Email has been sent." Me "I think as a business you should be more patient with customers." CheBogz (Trixia): "Our frustration is the attitude we are receiving from you" Me: "What is the attitude? I just asked because I didn't get the email." "Please scroll up I didn't have any attitude. I checked in at 10:47" CheBogx Trixia: Your comment about being "frustrated" can be interpreted on our end as attitude. Me: "It is frustrating though." "Because you also mispelled my last last name and after I left 2-3 voicemails." "I dunno why you're being triggered but I'm simply expressing my experience" CheBogz Trixia: We received our voicemail electronically through our 3rd party which mispelled your email. That is something we cannot help. It was revolved once you texted your email. me: "Can I speak to the manager or owner please? Is this Trixia I'm speaking with?" CheBogz: Yes Me You were recommended to me by people from ___. I think if a customer says they're frustrated, maybe you can acknowledge them and say I apologize for the inconvenience. AS mentioned, I do not have any attitude. I'm simply expressing my frustration because I've followed up several times. And after I left the voicemails I then reached out via text. CheBogz: I am finished with this conversation. I've completed many catering orders and you have been the most difficult customer I have dealt with. If you would like to cancel please let us know. Me: Please cancel our order. CheBogz: Ok I'm pasting screenshots of the text convo for transparency. Honestly I was taken aback my the response of Chebogz and I was told I was the most difficult customer they have dealt with.

When in Seattle, this is a legit Filipino food spot! My nephew graduated high school so we had our party catered. Everyone loved the pancit and lumpia! And the Tofu Sisig was a hit, just wished we ordered more! My favorite was the Chicken Inihaw! It was obviously marinated, cooked to perfection for fall off the bone, and then charbroiled or grilled for crispy skin. I had soooo many servings. Delicious! I highly recommend!

Second time having Filipino food and was looking forward to it. First was at CheBogz a little under a year ago. This hidden gem is located in North Beacon Hill. Parking is challenging in the street, two hour parking if you find it. We shopped and parked at the market parking lot across the street, good for one hour. We arrived a little after 5:30pm. It's a counter service family restaurant. It's about the unique food. They even have signs requesting customers clean their table. It wasn't too busy, only a couple other dinners. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We ordered two Chicken Adobo, one Chicken Tinga and one Tofu Inihaw. The Chicken Adobo is my favorite dish and a main stay, boneless chicken thighs prepared in a mild soy sauce, garlic and pepper marinate. The Chicken Tinga is a special soup that is only available periodically, an adobo seasoned soup, mild yet deep flavor. The Tofu Inihaw is a BBQ prepared fried tofu, sweet and savory flavors. Each plate is served with two scoops of white rice and a side of rice noodle salad. We also ordered a couple of milk tea that were delicious. We paid, were provided our milk teas, gather our silver ware, waters and grabbed a table. Our food was delivered to our table about 10 minutes later. Everything had fresh and deep flavors, mild and not overwhelming. Highly recommended for a unique culinary experience!

My first time here and the food was amazing! I was craving some Filipino food and this hit the spot. The parking is anything you find on the street near by, and the restaurant is not packed so it was a nice, chill spot for lunch. The workers are kind and the food came out pretty quickly. I will definitely be returning and next time I want to try their mango drink, I saw some people order that and it looks delicious!

Food - I'm usually more of a silog kind of person, but I had to try the sisig here. It was really good. Came on a cast iron pan so it was sizzling and crispy. Also, I don't even really like pancit, but I devoured theirs. It was the perfect citrusy flavor. I actually kind of wish I asked for more pancit instead of rice! Really good. We also split the adobo rolls. I think it needs a sauce, but still good. Never thought of service adobo that way. Service - food came out quick. its an order at the counter kind of situation. Ambiance - Very chill spot, not fussy. indoor seating but would be a little harder with a big group.

I came across CheBogz the night before searching IG for places to eat, I actually got excited and looked at all the Instagram post for CheBogz and perfect timing, Plate Of Nation week is going on now and CheBogz was one of the restaurant participating. I learned that this Brick & Mortar started as a food truck, now has a restaurant in the Beacon Hill area near the rail . The business name CheBogz is the owner's parent's nickname. There was a line when we arrived and they are very busy, there are 2 staff working taking orders and delivering food, be patient. Place your order at counter & bus your own table . Everything on the menu and the specials sounds great, I was happy to see they have a P.L.R plate ($11.) which is Pancit, Lumpia (6) and Rice, this is my all time favorite combo or any Filipino's favorite combo too. hehe. This is the best combo ever!! Ended up with the Plate of Nation combo to share Chicken Adobo (fried) with the 6 lumpia and plate of the Island Combo which came with pork ribs, shrimp, longanisa, Calamansi drink and Cassava Cake. The verdict, Wow. really tasty Filipino food, way better that the over-rated one at Pikes. I like the fried chicken adobo style with the gravy , the pancit, the lumpia, longanisa, ribs, everything was so good, major comfort foods while at Seattle. The calamansi drink was so refreshing. We loved that green sauce, first time trying, I need to learn more about that sauce. The cassava cake, omg wow!, Do not skip on this one, super GOOD! I had cassava before but this one hits different. @$8. a slice, it was so worth it. Before we left I went back to get another slice to go. All in all, so glad we got to check it out after my IG search, we loved and enjoyed every bite! Yep. We will be back next time we visit!

I came here on a Thursday evening for dinner with two friends and when I saw the island combo come out, I said, I'll get that! My favorite were the ribs, super tender and lots of great flavor. The shrimp was delicious and my third favorite was the lumpia. They have a counter with sauces you can choose from. I also purchased a slice of their ube cassava cake to go for my hubby and he loved it! I would recommend this place, lots of flavor and they're super friendly.

If I had to choose a consistent place in Seattle for comfort food, this would be the spot. CheBogz offers a wide variety of Filipino dishes that are all reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. If I had to choose, I'd say my favorite is the chicken adobo, followed by the pork sisig and then the island combo. I'm a huge fan of meals that are balanced and relatively healthy but also taste good and have larger portions, and this checks all of those boxes. I also really enjoyed their Ube milk cake (tho I do have a big bias towards ube), I want to try some of the other ube desserts they have in the future. They also offer drinks that look interesting and I'll may eventually try (and then it'll be added to this review)! The staff are super nice and friendly and the vibes inside are great for a restaurant in the beacon hill area. It's all self service which I quite enjoy for comfort food. 5/5

Such a great spot! Located right next to the Beacon Hill light rail, it is not easy to miss and it should not be missed! If you are able to transit, that is the way to go but if that is not possible, there is free street parking throughout the nearby neighborhoods. This is more of a casual place with self seating, bussing, and ordering in the front before you sit. They have a pretty big menu and offer everything from authentic drinks, entree, and desserts. I was not lucky enough to try a dessert but I saw a couple of people with halo halo in their hand and I will need to try some the next time I am back. I got the pork sinigang which was super flavorful! Everyone at my table got something different and they reported the same thing. I have not had a lot of Filipino food in my life but I will need to look at more local spots. The service was also super fast and friendly! Overall, our visit was amazing and I will be back when I am in the area.

Great lumpia! The service was friendly and nice and the ambiance is casual. I had the chicken Adobo which was decent and filling. You do bus your own table but it's a very nice place for Filipino food overall!

Beef Kare Kare

I was really excited to try CheBogz after I'd heard so many great things. I ordered the pork sigsig and the beef kare kare as I was recommended by the person up front since he said they were the top sellers. The restaurant was fairly busy and as such the tables weren't cleaned after the group before us finished eating. There was a bit of wait for the door but when it was ready it came out piping hot. The pork sigsig looked like a showstopper since it came in a sizzler. Unfortunately the dish itself was quite bland. The texture of the pork was a little tough and despite being in a sizzler it was not as crispy on the outside as I would have liked. The beef kare kare wasn't much better with the curry being bland again. The meat was also very tough and chewy. The noodles on the side were overcooked and mushy and the salad was very forgettable.

Chicken Adobo, Tofu Inihaw, Macaroni Salad - 16oz Pork Lumpias
Wennie H.

Have wanted to try this spot for awhile and didn't realize I wanted rice until literally 45 mins before they closed....placed an order and got it within 10 mins. The chicken adobe is really salty, the pancit was yummy, moreso with a crackling of black pepper over it. Everything mixed together is good. The Mac salad was super good, actually probably one of the best things I got. The lumpia was super delicious, super crispy, one of the best ones I've had.

Just across from the church, a lengthy queue of folks stood outside a dining establishment. We didn't know what kind of restaurant it was until we noticed the Filipino Christmas lantern/"parol" hanging on the window. After a week of cruising, we made it our goal to eat at this restaurant. Since we docked early in the morning and the restaurant opens at 7am, we did not wait that long outside around 8am. There were only less than 10 people in line. We only waited less than 15 minutes. There were at least 20 people outside by the time we left before 9am. The interior Filipino household-themed decoration brought back so many memories. White Chicken Adobo Silog | Never heard of this type of "silog" before. Silog is a Filipino dish combination consists of fried rice ("SInangag") and egg ("itLOG"). I got so excited to try it since it's one of the weekly specials' menu items. I was debating between this and Salmon Silog, but I've also never tried white chicken adobo. The chicken was succulent and tender, allowing it to flake off effortlessly with a fork. The generous helping of garlic fried rice was heavenly. Couldn't ask anything more from this dish. Turon | The wrapper were coated with almost like spun sugar instead of being fried in sugar, which made this turon not overly sweet. The plantain that was completed well with halaya filling was soft and cooked well. Menu: In addition to various protein/silog meals, there were also pancakes and omelettes. Service: Eating at this restaurant feels like home. The cashier and service were nice and friendly. We were also attended by Tito Greg the owner of the restaurant. He roamed the dining area, greeting each guest with humor and genuine humility. Parking: There's a big garage by Pike's, unsure how much parking rate was at the time. Since we just came back from the cruise port, we just from there to the restaurant. Highly Recommend!

I'm honestly not sure what all the hype is about. We ordered four dishes: Sinigang Wings: This was probably the most enjoyable of the four. It was a little on the salty side, but still decent enough that we finished it. Mushroom Kinilaw: Nothing particularly special about this one. I was expecting something more flavorful or interesting, but it just didn't stand out to me. Maybe it's just my preference. Beef Mechado: The beef was tender, which I appreciated, but the flavor reminded me more of Chinese-style beef stir-fry with tomato sauce added to it. It didn't quite have the rich, comforting flavor I was expecting from mechado. Sizzling Sisig: Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. It was way too spicy for my liking, and the fried garlic completely overpowered the dish. I could barely appreciate the other flavors, and it honestly didn't taste much like the sisig I'm familiar with. We decided to take the leftover sisig home, but there was also a small issue with the service. After asking our server to pack it to go, we noticed that our dish was left sitting on the counter for several minutes. I understand that servers get busy, but I would've preferred that they attend to other tasks first before taking our food away from the table, rather than leaving it sitting there. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, especially with all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, the food was just okay at best, and the experience left us disappointed. I understand that everyone has different tastes, and maybe these dishes appeal to others, but personally, they weren't for us.

Perfectly crispy, super snackable, and that sauce? Oof. Punchy, bright, and exactly what the lumpia needed. The beef cheeks with garlic rice were pure comfort food; tender, rich, filling, and deeply satisfying. Then came the ribs: sticky, savory, finger-licking goodness. Even the cocktail hit the mark. Our server was attentive when taking our order but rarely came to our table when the dishes were brought to our table. We had to remind our server about our 2nd drink order after waiting for 20 minutes. After our last entree was served, our many entrees plates were not cleared for another 20 minutes even though it was clear we were done eating. Our server never came to our table to check up on us. We had to ask another server for our bill. The final bill for me and my spouse came out to $263.79 and included 4 cocktails. This was not a special occasion dinner. We both want to support Filipino restaurants to become more main stream, however, they need to earn repeat customers. Some of the upscale Filipino restaurants we have dined at includes Kasama (Michelin Star) in Chicago and Abacá in San Francisco had very good service. We started with siyokoy cocktails which were tasty and had a tangy flavor I was craving for in an aperitif. Our entrees consisted of tinapa tonnato, ensaladang pinakbet, adobo ribs, kare kare and shared and order of the bibingka for dessert. We both enjoyed the tinapa tonnato and I especially liked the addition of mint because it brightened the slight funkiness of the tomato salad. The ensaladang pinakbet was not a "traditional" version of the dish and was served cold like a salad and without rice. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The pickled bitter melon was a nice addition although I thought the bitter melon was a bit too vinegary but my spouse liked the level of vinegar. Overall, we both enjoyed this version of pinakbet. The adobo ribs were meh and one note in flavor but was very tender. It lacked acidity which is a typical flavor profile for Filipino adobo. I was getting a slight bitter aftertaste, not sure where it was coming from, perhaps from too much char on the ribs because of the grilling. The ribs are covered in a thick glaze so I couldn't see the naked ribs. We both would have liked wedges of lime to squeeze on the ribs to give it a little hit of acidity. A little Maldon salt would have helped too. The first couple of bites of the kare kare were tasty but started to taste monotonous. We both agreed it needed a bit more salt or bagoong on the side for each diner to add the level to their own taste specifications. The beef cheeks portion was large and was very tender, unctuous, and delicious. The bibingka was served warm and very buttery. We enjoyed the crispy edges. I guess the O.G. designation meant it was the original recipe. It tasted like the recipe I grew up eating. Nothing inventive.

Our office gets a list of the weekly offerings on Monday, so when I heard that later in the week there would be Salu-Salo Filipino Kitchen, bringing Filipino food, I most definitely made lunch plans. I was coming in from a meeting in Fremont, so didn't go to the pop-up/Salu-Salo Filipino Kitchen as soon as it started service (around 11am). With that said, I nearly missed out on the chicken adobo! I took the last of the chicken adobo an hour and a half after the lunch service started, so was counting my blessings! I ordered the lunch plate, which came with chicken adobo, pancit, rice and pickled veggies. My lunch plate was solid. Chicken adobo was tender and really, really liked how vinegar-y the flavor was, which, any Filipino would tell you that all food tastes better with vinegar! Pancit wasn't bad, but not the best. Some of the noodles were on the dry side, but I did like the cabbage and green onion throughout. Pickled veggies were a nice addition, adding more sour flavor to the overall entree. For someone who hardly ever has Filipino food and desperately misses mom's cooking, I was just happy to have Salu-Salo bring some adobo to the area. I would definitely recommend checking out Salu-Salo if you ever see their stand around. They don't update their social media channels, unfortunately, so is a little difficult to find where their stand will be. And when I asked if they participate in any markets, they do not. But the owners did mention that they visit downtown Seattle often at other office buildings around. Therefore, I have a feeling I'll be seeing them soon and getting my Filipino cuisine on. (Plus, bonus points for the owner being from the Bicol region of the Philippines, which is where my mom's side is from. Love that!)

Salu-Salo offers a wide variety of dishes with unique flavor profiles. With some of the dishes, I can't compare them to anything I have ever tried before. For example, my favorite dish on the menu is the Laing Express, which is made with coconut milk, taro leaves, topped with a delicious crispy piece of pork belly. With a topping of pork belly, how could anything go wrong? This dish has an amazing earthy flavor, with a bit of a kick to it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. How often to you get to eat purple desserts? Ube cake gets its color from purple yams! Salu-Salo's ube coconut topped ube cheesecake balls are not just adorable, they are addicting. Rosario's cuisine feels like a healthy take on comfort food. Each dish bursting with flavor, yet still accessible to all ages. The idea behind comfort food is all about the thought that goes into the prep. After tasting Salu-Salo's food, I promise you can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation of each dish. I am looking forward to this becoming a Seattle institution, and hope it inspires more Filipino cuisine to start popping up in the PNW.

Great for hanging out or for working. We ordered a sisig piroshki which was really good and flavorful. I love the twist to a class piroshki. We also ordered guava cream cheese and a strawberry jalapeno cream cheese danish. My son wanted the chocolate chip roll and it was loaded with chocolate. The highlight of our visit was the leche flan. It came out just as we were leaving and I had to get one. It's a pastry topped with flan and salted egg and it was perfect. It was warm and flaky and the flavors were just so delicious. If you're lucky enough to be around when the leche flan is in the case, I highly recommend trying it. I'm still dreaming about it

I really enjoyed it and would definitely get it again. #goodeats My biggest issue is the price, especially from the food trucks. At around $10 per item, it feels a little expensive for what you're getting. It's tasty, but I'd probably want more food for the price. There's also a newer spot by the Summit building, which is a much more convenient location compared to going all the way down to the pier. Definitely worth stopping by if you're already in the area. Service was quick and curt.

They offer their famous salmon sinigang and daily Flip faves. The Aposto family has been operating O Mart since 1973. Two of us shared the 1/2 & 1/2: Pepper beef (like menudo) w/ rice & pancit, and their sig sinigang. They were also offering chicken or pork adobo, longanisa or bangus the day we visited. The sinigang was sarap!!!!! The broth was tart from the tamarind, and there was a lot of salmon. In addition, there was crunchy water spinach, that reminded me of how my father used to make this dish. Likewise, Tita Lei's rec on the pepper pork was good. There was plenty of tender, nicely seasoned meat. Lastly, the pancit was made fresh in small batches. There is dedicated counter seating on the side. Tia Lei is super nice, friendly and works her ass off. Her barangay in the PI is just two hours from my father's. The staff in the store is also super nice. 4get the touristy places in Pike Place. There's no actual menu, but you'd most likely find their famous salmon sinigang. It's a savory, sour soup with assorted vegetables. The broth was perfectly tangy from the tamarind and the salmon was fresh. You can get a combo meal like I did and try two dishes. I saw some people complain about the price, but you really do get your money's worth by the serving size. The staff are so friendly and food comes out quick since it's made that morning. There's limited seating, it's only the bar side area of the kitchen. People are in and out, so you just gotta wait when one free's up if you're planning on eating there. If you're a bigger group, I'd suggest getting the food to-go and eat elsewhere. While you're waiting, you can read up on all the funny and sarcastic signs everywhere.

I'd heard a lot about this singular item; how it became a Seattle iconic bakery pickup dish and the people who rave about it. Due to it closing somewhat early, I'd never been able to make it out there though, until now. And there was no question about what I was getting. As someone unhealthily (literally) obsessed with cheesecakes, this is right up my alley. This is unlike any cheesecake I've had. The first thing you feel is the immediate richness - characteristic of the very best. I want to feel like I'm consuming something that's going to shorten my life when I eat a cheesecake. This absolutely delivers on that promise; it's got a mouthfeel that lingers and makes you feel its presence even after the last bite is gone. The tiny-bit sour, heavily deep and cheesy flavor is complemented by a texture that's supremely soft. The crust is also great - while not as hard as other crusts I've had, this is unique as its made with coconut butter biscuit. What makes this one unique is the same thing that makes it purple. Its ube flavor combines so well with the normal cheesecake flavor that I can't believe I haven't had this combination before. The slightly-sweet, vanilla-forward, coconut-hinting, earthy nature of the yam balances out the cheese perfectly. The only thing practically missing is a touch of salt for something truly awesome. The only downside here is the price is 9 bucks. That is a lot for a cheesecake piece that's pretty small - roughly 150g. Overall, this absolutely ranks up there with some of the best cheesecakes I've had. 9.75/10

I was so excited to try this place after having had the BEST crispy pork belly kare-kare I've ever…read moretasted. I grew up eating Filipino food, and kare-kare was actually a dish I never really cared for. But I recently had it at a party that was catered from here on a Saturday, and I honestly couldn't stop thinking about it afterward. The following week, I was raving about it to my sister-in-law (our partners are Filipino), and since we were in the area, we decided to stop by. We walked in right at 11 when they opened. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing from the start. We weren't greeted very warmly by the older woman taking orders. Maybe she was having an off day, or maybe we happened to walk in right as they opened, but as my SIL was ordering, she seemed visibly annoyed with us. What really stood out, though, was when two older Filipino women came in shortly after. Her demeanor completely changed, and she became much warmer and more hospitable toward them. I don't want to assume someone's intentions, but as someone who isn't Filipino, it honestly made us feel very unwelcome and discriminated against. It was especially disappointing because we genuinely love Filipino food and regularly eat dishes like papaitan and tortang talong with our Filipino family. We weren't just randomly ordering unfamiliar food, these are dishes we know and love. And my whole life I've never experienced any negative interactions with any Filipino, ever. They're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We ended up getting our food to go. The tortang talong was pretty greasy and the tapsilog was decent. And I have to give credit where credit is due: the crispy kare-kare is still the best I've ever had. That alone is what would bring me back for the food. Unfortunately, the service is what keeps me from rating this place higher. Based on my experience, I'd recommend this as more of a takeout spot only. Hopefully whoever takes your order is having a better day than ours did.
