This was a cute brunch cafe right by our hotel in Beverly Hills. It really reminded me of a cafe you could find when walking the streets of Paris! I ordered the breakfast croissant and the truffle egg omelette. Both were delicious and came with a salad of fresh greens. The omelette was on the pricier side (due to the truffle), but it was very rich in truffle flavor. The croissant was also freshly made and it had eggs, beef bacon, and some sauce inside. We have been in support of this restaurant from day one when it opened and when nobody knew about it, we stopped by for breakfast around 11:15 AM on Thanksgiving and ordered indicating that we were going to sit at a table outside. Five minutes before 12 when I checked the status of our order, they had a paper bag waiting Indicating they were closing in two minutes. We were seated at a table outside and were about to eat and one of the waiters, Dany indicated that we had to leave. I inquired if they were going to force us off the table and he said yes that they had to close. I enjoyed both the toast and the croissants on two separate occasions, but if I had to pick just one, I would go for the croissants since that's what they are known for and their most popular item. They make them very well, and the prices for the croissants were reasonable. Of course, just keep in mind that everything here has that Beverly Hills upcharge. I placed an online order via their website and arrived right on time, walking up to the pick up counter. I gave my name, she looked at the to go orders and it was obvious mine wasn't one of them. She asked where I ordered and if I had accidentally ordered for their vegan location (nope). She then went to their computer and by the look on her face it was obvious that my order wasn't filled. Chaumont Vegan is a little cuter and their pastries were prettier (when I was there at least - they could change), but Chaumont had so many amazing options to choose from that I wouldn't even think to comment, except Vegan is so close that we went to both. So I went back to give it another try, and sadly this is more than likely the last time. It's not like parking is readily available, so most times it was worth the hassle to get the croissants here. However, today was probably the worst of all the past few visits, and the past few have been bad. Today was definitely stale, tasted old, lackluster and definitely lacked butter (or at least it seemed it did), and for something that was my guilty pleasure, I took one bite and knew this wasn't right and just threw that $4.50 in the garbage. The calories to finish the croissant was not worth it. I spoke highly of the croissants to everyone I know and now I hope nobody I referred goes there and tries it based on my past recommendations.
