Almond croissant (my go-to order at a bakery) was dense. There was no detectable frangipane inside the croissant, and honestly, the only almond flavor I could taste were the almonds on the outside. The ham and cheese croissant actually had good flavor, and you could tell that the ham was good quality. Since it was lukewarm though, the croissant layers seemingly melded into one sad, chewy layer. We also ordered a coffee and a matcha. Coffee was bitter, so I'm guessing the beans were old. Matcha was fine -- super grassy flavor but not bad. TLDR: paid $50+ for pastries that weren't fresh and weren't good. This whole experience left much to be desired.

It came raw and needed to be cooked before being served. The gingerbread topping was so delicious on top. I love that addition. The salmon had good ingredients and they were very, very generous with the portion size. Although I wish they had added some sliced lemons for flavoring and a sauce to accompany it would have been nice. Loved the dill on top of the fish. However, the salmon was undercooked and very pink in many places. Perhaps if they had cut it up in smaller portions, it would have cooked more evenly. It did make a beautiful presentation but I didn't want to serve it like that. We repurposed it and made salmon cakes so I am not complaining. It did not go to waste. Additionally, the tzimmes needed to be reheated a lot longer than the reheating instructions said in order for the vegetables to be softer. Once I was able to get the cooking time right, the dish was scrumptious. It had sweet potato, orange maple glaze, carrots, and a pecan crunch. Lastly the apple tart tartin was delicious. We heated it up with some vanilla ice cream. Skipping the ice cream and reheating the tartine was not optional here. Ice cream was very much needed to accompany the sweet apples in the dessert and the warmth of the tart was a perfect accompaniment. Just heavenly. Overall, there were a few hiccups but we enjoyed our Huckleberry catering order and are happy we chose them to cater our celebratory meal. They use v60 for their pour overs and don't rush the process. The coffee selection rotates and you can tell they curate well. They typically buy blends from Lightwave coffee, a specialty local LA roaster. Would love it if they could source some single origins. The chai latte on the other hand wasn't our favorite. It lacked a punch and was a little sweet (probably the non-dairy milk since the brew is technically supposed to be unsweetened). We also picked up a protein salad that looked fresh.
