    French toast.

They switched from full service to POS & phone app ordering a few years ago. The food is still very good, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The app makes it possible to customize your order a bit like you would with a server. There aren't a lot of breakfast places with a good selection on weekdays like Blue Jam. The Benedict has bacon and ham, with crunchy diced potatoes. The chicken tinga chilaquiles had great flavor, good spice, but the chips got very soggy from the chicken juice, so get it on the side. The crunchy French toast had lots of fresh fruit. All the portions were good. The single origin French press is very good, too.

A consistently delicious breakfast option in Brentwood. They have multiple locations around the city, but this is probably my favorite one and has easier parking than the others that I've been to. They don't have a dedicated parking lot but it's not difficult to find street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have many different seating options. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. For this visit, I started off with a chocolate croissant and it was absolutely fantastic. You can tell it was made fresh and had great flavors. For my breakfast, I chose the Eggs Benedict and absolutely loved it. I've had this before and every time I really enjoy it. I especially like the diced potatoes and everything about it. It really hit the spot. I would definitely recommend as a great casual breakfast option.

We had a fantastic Mother's Day brunch here this morning. I suppose the gods were with us, because we not only found parking easily, but the restaurant wasn't even that crowded on this most popular of holidays. We opted to sit outdoors on their patio, which was lovely, breezy and shaded by pretty green umbrellas. The service was friendly and prompt, the food and French-press coffee were delicious, and it was overall just a really lovely morning and afternoon. Highly recommend the chicken quesadillas, the migas, the eggs Benedict, and any of their delicious scrambles!!

I got the blu jam breakfast. It was excellent!! There was blue forest ham, English muffin, poached eggs, hollandaise and side of diced potatoes which were my favorite!! My bf and I loved the potatoes here. 5/5 The strawberry mint lemonade was so good too! Wish they added more mint leaves but it was so refreshing! 5/5 The churro toast was pretty good but I wish they had more sauce on the side. 3/5 Only thing is they should provide bigger tables. Although it was two of us, the table was so small.

Delightful brunch cafe! I come here if I ever need to accommodate a big party. Spacious and clean! Plenty savory and sweet of options for everyone-- I always try to come back and try something new on their menu. Validated indoor parking lot. Aside: My friend and I noticed a sign that their house rules is they do not serve syrup. We thought it would be humorous to ask for it anyway, but they so kindly brought us their blu jam instead which was the yummiest surprise. Thank you Blu Jam!

The food was amazing, if you love crepes come here! They were very kind and helpful, immediate service which I love. The place was very cozy and it had a nice vibe.

I loved it! The service was great (although you do order with a QR code or at the register). They were quick to bring out more water when we were closer to running out, they brought our food out quickly and remembered all the little details we had requested. We tried three different dishes and we devoured all of them! The serving sizes were quite generous and we felt they were good for their prices (considering La prices). It was a cute cafe, our table was clean- we did choose to sit outside and there were a lot of flies but that is not the restaurants fault. Personally, I ordered the steak hash and I felt they were very generous with the steak! I would 100% go back!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and I LOVED it!! They have $5 sangrias (red or white) on Saturday and Sundays. Their portions are also veryyy generous!! You get a lot of food for a good price. They also have parking available behind them in a parking structure and they do validate! Service was very quick! Stop by here if you're looking for a good breakfast/brunch spot!

Huevos Rancheros- half eaten because it was so good I didn't stop to take a picture.

LOVE BLU JAM. huevos Rancheros is my new favorite! I order mine scrambled and add hot sauce. Everything is fresh and hot even with delivery.

Crunchy French Toast with French Press Guatemalan coffee
    Christine L.

We came to Blu Jam Café for my mom's birthday brunch, and it was the perfect place to celebrate! The special French press Guatemalan coffee was AMAZING! It was so rich and aromatic and honestly one of the best coffees I've had!! Their famous Crunchy French Toast totally lived up to the hype with the perfect crispy texture on the outside and a soft center. We also ordered the steak hash, and the beef was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. Such a cozy atmosphere with delicious food and great service! Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to! Thanks guys!!!

It's not bad! Food tastes good and it's beautifully presented. I don't know why Google rating is low. I like the chai latte I got and the salmon hatch.

This was a place i chose for a short stop while waiting for some business matters to go through. Ambience is very nice, the shop is super clean and the service was stellar. I chose the grilled cheese which, surprisingly, had a mix of yellow cheeses and feta! What an awesome Combination! It was crunchy, grilled to perfection and the home fries were cut up in small, tiny cubes which made them very tasty and crunchy as well! Good price as well. Highly recommend for a quick bite whether it's breakfast or lunch.

In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

I ordered the Espresso Martini, and it tasted pretty watered down and lacked the bold coffee flavor I was hoping for. On the bright side, the food was definitely the highlight. The mussels were flavorful, the calamari was crispy and cooked well, and the fries were delicious. Those dishes really saved the experience . Overall, I'd come back for the food, but I'd probably steer clear from cocktails and order a real drink. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with authentic flavors and quality ingredients that stood out from the first bite to the last. The ambiance was welcoming and the art was tasteful. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

The servers are so helpful and always cater to first-timers for an enjoyable experience, whether for a date night or hanging with your buds. HOKKAIDO SCALLOPS (a favorite) -Buttery, savory and expertly seared -The brown butter-bacon vinaigrette's contrast with the slightly tangy mustard greens makes it so enjoyable BLISTERED SNAP PEAS - Fresh, crunchy and tossed well - An ideal veggie to add to the feast OCEAN TROUT TARTARE - Great starter for a warm day - Tangy and served on crusty garlic toast - Also great as a main for a light lunch CAST IRON CORNBREAD - A must for the table - The whipped butter and wildflower honey is light and abundant - Smear it all around like you're icing a cake and dig in! After looking around the museum and enjoying the artwork, I went to Manuela, the restaurant inside the museum, on October 3, 2021, and again on October 9, 2021. One time, I went with just one close friend, and the other time, I went with a group of seven friends. On October 3, we made a reservation in advance and had brunch there. On October 9, we all went to the museum together, but since we hadn't made a reservation, we weren't able to eat there that day. I remember the atmosphere being really nice, and I remember that everything we ordered was delicious. All of the staff were also very friendly, and I remember the prices being quite reasonable. My friend and I, of course, split the bill evenly. Since it was five years ago, I obviously don't remember the exact prices in detail, but I do remember feeling that the food was reasonably priced. The only downside was the valet parking, which I remember being around $20. Other than the parking fee, I really liked the place overall and had a very good experience there.
