    Cappuccino... After I took a sip :)
    Sue T.

After a long drive being stuck in traffic I needed something to pick me up and luckily found this coffee shop. The place is nicely decorated and has a variety of your favorite drinks. Decided to just get a cappuccino and call it day but I will be back next time I'm visiting this plaza.

I have this rule that I only go to coffee shops once. There are so many independent coffee shops in LA, enough to try in a lifetime, and the goal is to knock as many as I can off my list. But this place? I'd come back. Their iced lavender latte is to die for! You can park in the garage, they validate parking up to 3 hours which is a great deal. We didn't know where to walk in the complex but it was the most popular place- just look for the line out the door. But don't worry, it moves fast. They also offer a free cookie with check in. Unfortunately they were all out but offered me a croissant instead. Everyone who works here seems really genuine. They don't just ask "How's your day going", its real conversation. All while keeping the system moving. I was blown away, probably the friendliest staff ever at a coffee shop. We took our drinks (fair price and large quantity) to the setting in the plaza. There are a lot of chairs and tables to choose from. It was a beautiful day to sit under the gazebo in a rocking chair and watch the people come and go. Perfectly place to work or meet someone.

The staff here is extremely welcoming and helpful. Lots to choose from with syrups made in house. This tucked away gem amongst the hustle and bustle is a real treat. Sweet tooth friends , one check in gets you the cookie of your dreams. I went with the regular hot coffee not too strong not too light - it's just right :-).

Came to the Colorado Center for a bit and needed a little pick me up so came to Elabrew Coffee. I wasn't looking for anything in particular and was probably going to get a latte or coffee but ended up getting their lavender latte since it was a special. After a bit of a wait but not long at all, I got the order at the counter. The latte was pretty flowery, which some would say become soapy, but I didn't feel that way. I feel it was made well with a good depth of flavor and it wasn't too sweet. I'd prefer if it was hotter but I didn't asked for it to be extra hot so that could be on me. In addition to drinks, they had pastries, some ready-to-eat packaged items and a little mini-mart type place with some chips and Pocky. If you are in the area and need a place to get some work done, I'd suggest it. Seating is very limited but if you happen to be there, I'd say why not? Worth a visit but not worth the visit if you need to trek there.

Was looking for a place to read and while there isn't much room inside the coffee shop itself, it is located in the Colorado center which has plenty of outdoor seating. I did get lost trying to find this place because there is no exterior sign differentiating it from a large food hall/cafeteria right next to it. You do get your parking validated with any purchase and a free cookie with yelp check in. My coffee and free cookie were both delicious! Would definitely come back!

Specialty coffee at its mediocrity. Check. Hoping for better results, I made two trips to Elabrew Coffee's Santa Monica retail outlet with no expectations. Before we delve into this, allow me to introduce a brief backstory. They say that three times' a charm but that was not necessarily the case with my experiences at Elabrew Coffee Hollywood. I'd like to believe that 3 visits there would have yielded better crafted espresso especially after giving them feedback twice about their over extraction. My last visit to Elabrew Hollywood featured under extracted expresso. In case you're interested in reading more, click on this link: http://www.yelp.com/biz/elabrew-coffee-hollywood#hrid:-nYHQlxYZf909TVDv3kBQQ Essentially, Elabrew Coffee is consistent at both locations, regardless of whatever espresso bean is used. With prices on par with competing specialty coffee retailers, you would expect higher quality milk of the likes of Straus Barista or Clover Organic. I simply do not consider Rockview Farms as premium milk for specialty coffee beverages as lower quality milk tends to leave sour finishing notes that annoyingly linger on your palate. Caffe Latte - Kuma Coffee "Las Nubas, El Sal" ($4.25 small): 2/5 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elabrew-coffee-santa-monica?select=nkvS034FgumyMLBzIWFS7g Whoa!!! Did somebody just pull me some Starbucks? Man alive, these shots tasted super burnt! To further complicate matters, there was a pungent sour note on finish that would not go away. Cappuccino - Bows & Arrows Coffee "Honduras" ($4.00): 2.5/5 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elabrew-coffee-santa-monica?select=h7Ul7sdGiJPjGMTerLAbcg Now it's time for under extracted shots of Bows & Arrows Coffee! I've had great experiences with Bows & Arrows pulled at two other retail coffee shops here in LA but this one was somewhat disappointing. All I have to say is if you are struggling to taste espresso in your cappuccino, that is not a good thing. Unlike the caffe latte I had before, this beverage finished mildly sour. Will the third time be a charm? I guess we'll never know. I am a bit apprehensive about coming back but if I worked at Colorado Center, I'd be more apt to give them business (fingers crossed) instead of Starbucks. Hopefully Elabrew slows their multi-roaster rotation a bit. If they do, I believe they'll place more focus on getting the proper perimeters and pull better shots. Oh, and one more thing...change your milk, please?

My boyfriend recommended that I try this place, and I'm glad I decided to try it out! There's a beautiful fountain in the shape of a pitcher right outside Elabrew. I love how much light fills the shop, and they have cute little tables and chairs here too. Unfortunately, the chef was out today so I tried the bacon and cheese biscuit instead along with a cappuccino. The biscuit was very fluffy and large. There wasn't a lot of bacon in there. In fact, I don't think I even tasted it, but I absolutely loved the delicate crispiness to it. Cappuccino was served beautifully and had a nice roasted taste. Everyone was so friendly and wished me a happy Friday too! Great experience here, and this is the perfect setting for being productive and catching up with an old friend. Note: there are no outlets here

Worth the short trek. It was a cold Sunday morning, but the place was busy with families, Gen Z'ers, young couples and lots of dogs. Out front, two girlfriends were hanging out with their matchas deep in gossip and clearly enjoying the morning. The matcha seemed popular, but I needed something hot. I appreciated that their drink menu had some personality, because a lot of coffee/matcha spots feel like they're copying from the same boring menu. I got the sea salt mocha and it was delicious. Smooth, chocolatey and just salty enough. My wife got some type of cereal milk latte, which sounded epic but was apparently just mid. Still, we didn't regret the walk. ChitChat is a cool little Sawtelle stop with good drinks, good energy and plenty of dog-friendly vibes. Pro tip: Afterwards, swing-by Yamaguchi Bonsai Nursery kitty-corner from the coffee shop. The bonsai garden is insane.

Disappointing end to 15 years of loyalty…read more I have been a loyal customer of Coffee Tomo since 2011, frequently recommending it to friends. Sadly, that ends today. Over the last couple of years, the charm of this café has faded, culminating in a truly awful experience this morning. The solo staff member working today was incredibly discourteous. Because I had my leashed dog with me, she practically threw me out of the store. While she pointed to the "no dogs allowed" sign, I explained that I was only inside to order and planned to sit outside, something I have done on countless previous visits. After being forced to wait outside, my drink was left sitting on the counter for several minutes. The barista never bothered to let me know it was ready, despite the café being slow. To make matters worse, the beverage was poorly made, with coffee spilled all over the saucer. This isn't the first time I've experienced bad service here, but it will definitely be the last.

However, recently they've been playing AI generated music and it's very disappointing to hear. I would much rather hear one song on loop over and over again, than a playlist of AI slop. The drinks were very good and exactly what you'd expect from a quality café. But the food presentation--wow! It completely exceeded my expectations. We ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast burrito, and the egg on brioche. Every dish was beautifully plated, garnished with edible flowers, and served with a fresh, delicious salad. I honestly wasn't expecting this level of presentation from a café. The portions were generous as well, leaving us completely satisfied. I also tried one of their pastries that reminded me of a cinnamon roll. It was enjoyable, though as a professional baker and pastry chef, I felt the pastries were the one area with room for improvement. In my opinion, they seemed to prioritize elegance and originality over achieving the best texture and flavor. Even so, they were still good, and I appreciated the creativity. As soon as I took the sandwich out the huge flies would not leave it alone. Be aware. I found free street parking pretty easy on a side street. I thought I'd come here to read but they are kinda blasting the music so maybe it's not the best environment for that. Too much noise. I did not like the butterscotch latte. It was kind of weak, in my opinion. Thank goodness they let me exchange it for the Okinawa cold foam matcha drink, which was amazing. I think it's unique and cool to have a cold foam Okinawa flavor. They actually don't sweeten the matcha at all under the cold foam, so that was interesting. I might have to add sugar to it. Overall, everything was good, I just wouldn't order espresso lattes here.
