What a gem of a bookstore…read more Local hangout for Westsiders with tonssss of books, a café, lots of seating, and a children's section. They hold different events as well. I love that they have early hours even on weekends for those of us still up at 7am no matter what. Going in at 8am on a Sunday and seeing others already there? *My people* They have "bar" seating along the windows for working use with bar stools. Laptop/reading seating. They have tables and one BIG table for those enjoying café purchases and for those needing back support *cough cough* me. Village Well is just such a nice place to hangout in if you love books and/or need a place to work instead of home so you don't fall asleep. Anywhere that puts passion into books...is my favorite place.

As a local author, I want to share my experience with Village Well's consignment program so others…read morecan make informed decisions. I placed copies of my books there, including a recent title that had been in the store for less than six months. When I followed up, I was told there had been no recorded sales and that books are subject to removal after a period of time without activity. When I returned to the store, I noticed that much of the "local author" section appeared sparsely stocked, which raised concerns for me about how long books are kept on display and how actively they are supported. To be fair, the store did communicate that: Authors are responsible for following up on sales Shelf space is limited Books may be removed after a certain period However, I think it's important for other local authors to understand that: Placement does not guarantee visibility or promotion You may need to actively check in and market your book yourself Unsold books may be pulled without much notice If you're considering consignment, I recommend having a clear plan to promote your work and staying in regular contact with the store. Just sharing my experience so others go in with clear expectations.

My go to coffee is an oat milk latte, and depending on how hungry I am, either the protein brekkie or one of their burritos (love both homemade salsa that come with them). Pastries and bagels are from Jyan Isaac bread, and I particularly like the plain croissant. Lucky is the fantastic manager who always remembers the regulars, but everyone on the staff is professional and friendly. P.S. Their patio is dog friendly.

I did find myself wanting to keep drinking, but mainly to figure out if I liked it. My taste buds went through a ride each time...woh kind of "sour", but no...it's alright...to...not 100% whether I actually like this or not. Was the oatmilk bad? The coffee beans they use? Vanilla lattes are my go-to coffee order so I've tried a lot of these. I can say did not like this "roller coaster ride" at 7:30 in the morning. I would've gone up to the counter to nicely ask for something else, but had an appointment I already left for. I ended up throwing half of it away! So sad. The macadamia nut banana bread was hefty in portion (appreciated) and moist. It was nice. This space is a nice, sunny vibe to work, read, pass some time. People come and go so there was plenty of available tables or bench seats. Service was stellar. Everyone was professional and pleasant. There was one person making the drinks, but he moved with purpose and pumped drinks out much faster than any Starbucks (for reference). I wouldn't stop here again. I'm actually drinking a different iced latte from elsewhere 2 hours later lol Parking: street. If none on this side may need to go across the street. Not sure if the building has a garage option, but it might. I didn't look the menu up earlier or I would've tried something with "almond macadamia" (as the 3 orders before mine were called out including).

Well made and delicious. The sauce on my hamburger was amazing but I could have used a little less but that's just me. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. SERVICE Made reservations on OpenTable and it was free, quick, and easy. Although it was hard to get through to someone in the restaurant so you can call the hotel to add any notes for your server if needed. Really appreciated my server coming out with a complimentary birthday cheesecake and candle :) INSIDE Spacious, clean, very aesthetic. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Great for brunch gal vibes! FOOD Happy hour specials and dine LA menu available! I tried their almond trout and it was delicious, perfectly cooked tender salmon with a slightly salted and crisp skin. Plenty of veggies underneath and topped with hearty almonds. Delicious ~$30! A bit pricey for a burger which is $20 so def take advantage of happy hour specials. My colleagues say it was pretty good though and came with a hearty side of fries.

I came here around 10 p.m. on a Saturday with my bestie for some much-needed girl time, dessert, and late-night coffee. We like to live life in the fast lane, after all. This place is an absolute gem! The interior is bright, clean, and inviting, with plenty of seating options. There are large tables perfect for groups, outdoor café seating, and a spacious second floor that's ideal for solo dates, studying, working, or intimate conversations. Upstairs offers a great view, cozy couches, and gorgeous red velvet drapery that gives the space a warm, sophisticated vibe. The drink menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring unique Middle Eastern-inspired flavors like cardamom, pistachio, and saffron. And don't even get me started on the dessert selection! OMG. My friend and I are determined to try every single dessert they offer because everything looks incredible and is beautifully presented. They have a variety of milk cakes that remind me of Mexican tres leches, but with creative flavors like rose, pistachio, coconut, Biscoff, and more. They also offer a selection of fresh-baked pastries, including the always-reliable ham and cheese croissant. And I can't forget to mention the stunning cheesecake slices! My friend ordered the Dubai cheesecake, and I swear her eyes rolled back in pure happiness after the first bite. I went with the coconut milk cake and an Adeni latte, and it was exactly what I was craving that night. We got to talk with one of the managers and they were very friendly and welcoming. We will absolutely be back, and we'll definitely be following along for any special events they have coming up. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.
