I had to come and share what several of the most recent reviews have shared already. I understand Beverly Hills but how are we going to go from expensive to absolutely Ludacris charging. Two sandwiches cost $50. It's so mind blowing. Another price increase. I love to support local businesses but in this case, it just doesn't sit well with me, especially knowing it's just a sandwich. I understand other local businesses have increased prices but it feels within reason/means compared to Judi's. You can get a nice 3 course lunch meal on Rodeo Drive for a fraction of this cost and get to sit in an aesthetically pleasing restaurant and enjoy a classy yet casual environment. This place is always a rush during lunch. Sometimes your sandwich may come so toasted (burnt) and you could see the areas they tried to scrape off. Sometimes it'll be perfect. It's not the most consistent. Their seating is so tight that you have to squeeze between tables and high top tables, where people are seated and eating at, just to get condiments. Also despite menu advising "Any Sandwich $19" please note this is false advertisement and does not in fact mean any. $3 for a hardboiled egg. *insert mind blown emoji* For a few dollars more I could by a dozen eggs. I used to love them and would love to support this shop but for the cost of one sandwich $25 I can't. There are several other shops in the same blocks vicinity that offer delicious quality sandwiches, still reasonably priced at Beverly Hills standards but not at Ludacris prices, if that makes sense.

The Nosh around the corner was my usual go-to as I wait for Mom to wrap it up at her oral surgeon appointment. I'm not sure why I never spotted this place given it's across the street from the clinic, but hey... better late than never! It's a small and quaint spot, and the menu is enticing. I deliberately skipped lunch because I had every intention of making a stop here to grub. I had my eye on the half sandwich/soup combo. Pops wanted the breakfast plate. We had the pup with us so we sat comfortably at their patio. This place is popular (nonstop food delivery services coming through) but there were a few who stayed put (us included.) Put in our orders and sat right back outside. Wasn't long before I got my drink out. The food followed not too long after. CAFE MOCHA SMOOTHIE: Great choice of refreshment for a semi-hot and humid day. I also needed the pick-me-up so the caffeine helped. 1/2 SANDWICH AND SOUP: I opted for the corned beef sandwich and Matzo ball soup. (Okay, I got these for the sake of comparing to The Nosh.) I will be honest - sandwich was delicious, but different delicious. They clearly have their own recipe but the main essence is there. Some of the end parts were dry, but moist otherwise. Veggies were fresh! Overall, this was great bites! MATZO BALL: Also comparably delicious but also different delicious. The matzo ball was fluffy and packed with flavor. The broth was well seasoned and had depth. Noodles were cooked perfect. This was a great combo to the sandwich. 2 EGGS ANY STYLE: This was Pop's meal of choice. He likes his eggs cooked well done and this is probably the best well-done eggs I've seen anywhere. The bacon was cooked cripsy and the potatoes were seasoned great. (I took teenee bites of each.) Pops enjoyed this a lot. FOOD: 4. Delicious but there's still room for improvement. SERVICE: 5. They were fast, friendly and service with a smile! VALUE: 3. A little pricier than average, but you know.. BH and all... comes with the territory. PARKING: Free parking up to 2 hours at the parking structure on the north end of the block (right next to the now defunct Rite Aid.) OVERALL: 4. Mom has at least one more follow up appointment with her oral surgeon. I saw a customer order this delicious looking salad. Might just get that on that next run...

Prices are high and quantities are huge. Their half soup and half salad options are perfect! They are very filling. Tried almost all their soups and they are all delicious!

Big fan of your simple, reasonably priced , order at the counter food for years but now you charge $13 for a bowl of soup -- that is all kinds of crazy.

Service is horribly slow here! Not only that, but listening to the cashier make a call to someone on the phone saying that the Oatmeal needs to be changed, because it's "horrible" and then give that bowl of oatmeal to a customer. Seriously...what's wrong with you guys??? You just said the Oatmeal was horrible and you handed it over to a customer. That in itself is Horrible!! No wonder the lady left after tasting your oatmeal. Now with my order. I ordered Judi's Breakfast Combo and I wasn't impressed. The eggs were over cooked and too salty, and the pancakes were extremely spongy. I probably won't come back here again.

Great little diner in Beverly hills. Wide variety of menu items ranging from a full breakfast menu (eggs, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches etc), salads, smoothies, soups, sandwiches, and more. Nothing fancy, but always a solid meal had here. Friendly staff and pretty quick turnaround!

Large Matzo Ball Soup w/ 2 balls, chicken, rice, & noodles. Delicious!

Ambiance feels like a busy small community cafe on one of the Greek islands. They seem always busy. About 90% of the tables were occupied on a Monday morning at 1030 AM. Wasn't expecting it but after trying some of the dishes I can certainly see why this place is a local favorite. Also lots of free parking in the back which takes a load of stress off for an OC girl like myself. Here's what we tried: 1. Homestyle Cornbread: this is incredible. Cornbread made to order in a skillet with actual corn on Cobb on top to give it the upmost appeal. Served with cultured butter on the side which was fantastic. Worth coming back just for this. 2. Thai Tuna and Avocado Tartare: also phenomenal shared plate. Very generous amount of tuna/cucumber/purple onion tartare on a bed of sliced avocado and lime juice. All dressed in a coconut milk vinaigrette (KEY ingredient). Sooooo incredible, please order. My favorite dish here. 3. Empanadas: option for breakfast empanadas or others (beef, spinach). Went for the breakfast empanadas which had, I believe, sausage and cheese filling. Wasn't much flavor with Not much filling and more of the crust. Personally would pass on this one or try a different one. Two per order. 4. Butcher's burger with side salad: very rich and juicy Wagyu/Angus beef patty with onion jam (not too sweet), herb aioli, lettuce, and pickles in a brioche bun. Pretty good but the other two above stole the light. 5. Color burst latte: your usual latte but with a burst of rainbow art which just gives its unique personality. Would order at least one for the table. Fun to try 6. Matcha lemonade: interesting flavor. Get the matcha kick with a citrus twist. Overall great place for hang out with friends. Casual vibe with cocktails and great food. See myself coming here more often especially with convenient parking.

I enjoyed one more happy hour and one more early dinner before they closed for good…read more During the HH, I had the truffle french fries and the pepperoni pizza. Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. Thankfully, the order was put in a little earlier and I was able to enjoy the Penne alla Vodka. I was on the fence about the 20-Layer Cake but I ended up caving in, getting it to go for later. Unlike the first time I got this, they now had a perfect, custom box for the slice to fit whereas before they had to cut the cake in half to fit it into the box they had at the time. I know the New York location has delivery/to-go only, but there is still the Las Vegas one. Sad to see this place close down, as the location seems to be a curse for so many places (Hamburger Hamlet, Rivabella, Roku, now Lavo...).

During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making…read morerestaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.

The bagels were good, but they gave very little cream cheese and even charged extra for more, which bad barely enough for one side of a beagle. Service was a bit disappointing. I really like the aesthetics of this place as it is a mix of a mini market, deli, cafe, and ice…read morecream parlor. They have breakfast sandwiches, granola bowls, pancakes, omelettes, burgers, hot dogs, salads, bakery pastries and cake slices. There's a fridge full of various fresh cheeses and another fridge with ready to bake breads and pastries that you can take home to bake yourself. Lots of variety snacks throughout the store; often ones that you do not find at regular grocery stores. For example, they have dang Thai Rice chips, which are bomb good. I used to only be able to find these on Thrive market, so it's good to see a local place sell them. Staff were all friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. Interesting note is that they have various checkout counters throughout the store; it doesn't matter which counter you pay at. From the deli, I have tried... 1. Kale Salad with Spicy Peanuts & Queso Fresco It's technically supposed to be a healthy dish, but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. I think the sweetness is from the honey & the dried cranberries in it. Otherwise, the kale was fresh and spicy peanuts added a little bit of kick 2. Tarragon Chicken Salad The chicken was on the drier side, but the sour cream sauce was light and creamy - could use more herbs for flavoring though. I'll come back again for when I need a quick grub! Worth checking out if you are in the area
