We are regulars at Tryst and often stop by during our lunch breaks. On this occasion, we were simply passing by, and one of our coworkers realized they hadn't brought a fork. We stopped in to kindly ask if we could have one. The employee working at the time stared at her basket of forks and then stared at us for quite a while before replying that they do not allow outside food, and therefore would not provide a fork. While we understand policies, the interaction came across as unnecessarily unfriendly. This was not the first time we've felt unwelcome. On previous visits, we've noticed being charged for every small request, being lectured about charges on sauces. Combined with this most recent experience, it left us with a very negative impression. As regular customers who have supported Tryst often, it's disappointing to be treated this way, even if the incident was small.We've never came across a restaurant that would be stingy and rude for a togo fork. Unfortunately, our group has decided we will no longer be returning. read more

Ordered matcha rose boba tea. It was delish!! Tried their Nutella crepe and iced horchata latte too. Crepe was served warm with a drizzle of nutella, it was good. Horchata latte was delicious! Not too sweet or too bland. It was perfect! This is a small place across the street from Saks fifth avenue men's store entrance. Around 12 pm, it got a little busy but could still find some seating inside. It has nice upbeat cuban music playing in the background and the service was great! They serve breakfast throughout the day and have plenty of options. Overall a nice little place for a quick bite and coffee. read more

The food and matcha tea were average but nothing highly to recommend or return for. Parking was typical LA challenging parking. There was a garage nearby The service was ok but nothing above and beyond. I would do a pit stop again but wouldn't be my first preferred choice. read more

Tryst Caffé opened about two months and is the newest cafe in Beverly Hills. It's on Wilshire Bl and Bedford across the street from Saks men's department store. Limited street meter parking. This real estate space has had so many previous tenants that didn't last, ie a salad place, coffee shop, Chinese Bao restaurant, so hope this café has more longevity and succeeds. During early power walks with my furbabe, we discovered this cafe and liked that there was no crowd, it was clean, organized and had some dazzling coffee drinks I like. Although their menu offer sandwiches, soup and salads, I've only had coffee drinks and pastries and I enjoyed all items. Service was cordial, accommodating and nice. Apple Pay is accepted. Indoor seating available but the techno music was a tad too loud. I always prefer outdoor seating and they have carrera marble top table as well as umbrella shades to help enjoy your lovely drink. Walked in on a random Sunday because I heard music playing. I walked in and saw a crowd of people dancing, laughing and having fun. Went to order food and had the BEST French toast I've ever had! Recommend for coffee but didn't love my lunch here. I work in the area and have had coffee in the mornings from here a few times and the staff has always been pretty friendly. When I walked in for lunch the other day, the guy behind the counter didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered. I ordered a chicken wrap with side salad and paid $17 for a very average wrap and four pieces of lettuce. Perhaps this is competitive pricing for the area but the quality is definitely not. The wrap was fine but not worth the hefty price tag. They really outta be ashamed of what they tried to pass as a side salad because it's definitely more of a romaine garnish. read more

Good stuff!! I tried the fried chicken wrap - very different than most wraps I assure you. It comes with a choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or a salad. I ordered mine with the fries and they were crispy & salty - just how I like it. I also tried their breve decaf latte (yummy)! Tryst Cafe: Solid Breakfast Spot with a Smile. Tryst Cafe is a nice cozy spot in the heart of Beverly Hills, perfect for a casual breakfast. The atmosphere is bright and airy, with plenty of natural light streaming in. I went for breakfast and ordered the breakfast tacos. The first time I patronize a new restaurant I always pick an item off the menu that I know I'm not going to like. I actually dislike breakfast tacos with a passion. The rationality behind this is if a restaurant does the one item I dislike and they do it right then they probably know what they are doing in the kitchen. So how was it? The Breakfast Tacos were DELICIOUS!!!!! The eggs were cooked to my liking and the tortilla was soft and flavorful. The salsa was dressed just right and the avocado was nice and ripe green with no black spots. Not too soft and not too hard which is a rarity this days in restaurants. The utensils were spotless and the plate was super clean. Being in the restaurant industry all my life this an absolute must. The portion size was just right, and I left feeling satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive with a smile. The food came out in a reasonable time. Bottom line: Since you are already searching for a breakfast spot in Beverly Hills that prioritizes quality, freshness, cleanliness, with a welcoming attitude then go to Tryst Cafe. The prices are typical of Beverly Hills. However when the food is this good the decision to spend your money at Tryst Cafe becomes easier and tastier. I will leave an updated review when I try the lunch menu. One final note. When I'm eating I don't like music blasting into my ear. I was pleasantly surprised when the volume was easy listening. read more

This is a charming new cafe! There is an excellent selection of coffee and food. I was blown away by how good the coffee and food tasted. Even an iced mocha was one of the best I've had. I am always a supporter of locally owned businesses, especially ones that offer great quality options. I recommend locals or even visitors to stop here. From the coffee to even just the freshness of the bread and the taste of the french fries, this place is perfect. I recently had visited Tryst Cafe for a leisurely brunch, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The cafe's ambiance is warm and inviting. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet meal alone. The service was attentive and friendly. The staff made sure we were comfortable and checked in on us regularly without being intrusive. They were also knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations. The only thing that threw me a little off was the amount of time that I had to wait to get my Lox Platter. It's a general favorite and really not that hard to prepare yet it took like 25 minutes to come out. But after all, the taste was very good and I did enjoy having it. Thank you! read more

Oh my !!! I just read a review of a customer who has noticed the decline of the service and attitude here, and it sounds very similar to my story ! I am also a customer at the hair salon on the block, and was really happy to find this place a year ago. Food and service were so great. But to my disappointment, recently, the same order of a certain salad I'd ordered just a week prior was horrible and not at all as is described on the menu! I had just had it a week before and it was excellent, but clearly on this day they had run out of ingredients and no one in the kitchen or at the front gave a sh--. Plus, sadly I had to wait at least 30 minutes just standing there as they prepared it to go. I discovered the inferior meal only when I got home, and I knew immediately something was up. I took one tastes and I threw it in the trash. Old, spoiled ingredients and missing the key components of this salad. Also, not a single apology or explanation from the guy who took the order when he handed it to me 30 minutes after I ordered it. There was only one other customer that day and no excuse for this much time to throw garbage in a to-go box! Sorry I have to write this, because they actually have the best damn chicken soup in the city, but I won't be going back for it now. Oh...but don't wait for a piece of bread with the soup. It doesn't come with it! Haha. read more

I recently visited the Tryst Cafe as a quick pitstop for coffee on my long drive, but I was delighted to discover such a great brunch spot! I tried the ahi tuna avocado with hesitation as it seemed pricy, but I was so glad to have gotten it as it was the most delicious brunch item I've had in a while. I felt like I was eating at a very high end sit in restaurant, all with the price being plenty affordable and reasonable. Everything was fresh and it was well worth the price, especially given the ambience of the place: it was welcoming and the owner/workers were very hospitable. I tried the coffee as well, ordering a salted caramel late I believe, which I always assume to be a letdown but once again, I gave the place a chance even with my very picky taste with coffee, and it was amazing! I will be coming again, and that's why I figured I would write a review... I usually don't on yelp, but this was deserved. This is a perfect cafe for a good brunch and a place that gives the right energy to sit and stay for a little while, I recommend 10/10, only "issue" was parking, which is kind of out of their hands... thank you for the amazing experience !! read more

I don't feel it took too long for the food to arrive since we were catching up and enjoying our drinks. The restaurant was getting busier around this time as well. The banana bread had Maldon sea salt and honeycomb butter. This wasn't bad at all; I just never really had this before but I did finish it (got the remainder of it to go for later). The tater tots were just tater tots, nothing special but a larger portion which would be great for sharing alongside a side of ketchup. Service was welcoming, the space is nice, restrooms are two separate ones for all genders. Other guests that sat near us were friendly as well which made for an all-around pleasant experience. No photos taken since I was actually enjoying the company I was in. There were a few choices I was given today to meet up, and I'm glad I chose this one. With something already saturated with lemon, why are you serving me pickled vegetables? Would you also like to serve me a cup of vinegar juice to wash it down with? I vowed never ever to come back, until... I tried their lattes. Hear me out, they make their own syrups. Lattes are amazing, fire, 10 out of 10! So I'll come back for those, and I do, consistently. As for the food and the pastries, who knows maybe they do serve something good in this restaurant, but the first experience was such a miss, that I'm not gonna risk my tastebuds trying to find that out. There's too many really good restaurants in LA. Fool me once... As for the service itself: the managers, the employees, they're amazing; 10 out of ten nice neighborly great people. I ordered the Faroe Island king salmon with sautéed spinach and chimichurri, and my friend had the chopped salad. The salmon had a beautiful sear and was cooked perfectly, while the chimichurri added just the right amount of brightness. We each ordered the cucumber cocktail, mine with vodka and his with gin. It was crisp, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted on such a hot afternoon. It paired especially well with the salmon. One detail I really appreciate about Soho House is its no-photo policy. After spending a few hours there, it made perfect sense. Around us, people were catching up with friends, having meetings, enjoying lunch, or watching the match without phones constantly pointed around the room. It made the entire space feel more relaxed, and I found myself appreciating being somewhere that encouraged people to be present with each other. Nothing felt forced or overly formal. As someone who has worked as a fine dining server in the same area, I understand that mistakes happen, but communication and attention to detail are essential. They need to rethink the choice of sauce used in these tacos. Also, not a fan of corn tortilla. Wish they gave a choice between corn and flour tortilla. 3. Artisan Bread & Butter (5/5) Their sourdough bread sliced, grilled and brushed generously with garlic olive oil. Severed with a side of whipped duckfat butter. I've never had duck fat butter before, so this was a pleasant experience to try. Not to worry, there's no duck flavor at all. It's almost like cream cheese but lighter and airer. 4. Ahi Filet (1.5/5) Sesame-crusted ahi with a side wasabi aioli. The ahi was so-so; definitely, not the freshest and there's no "melt-in-your mouth" joy. The wasabi aioli sauce was good though. There is a subtle spice kick from the wasabi. It's served with a side of soba noodles that was gingery and peanuty in flavor. Unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked as they stuck to each other in clumps. 5. Bacon & Blue Burger (4.5/5) Quite a satisfying burger consisting of wagyu beef, duroc bacon, aged blue cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. It's juicy, meaty, slightly tangy from the horseradish aioli and sweet from the port wine reduction. The brioche bun was pleasantly soft. 6. Thai Ginger Salad (3/5) This salad consists of romaine lettuce as the base. It is dressed with Thai sesame dressing, which was underwhelming. The toppings for this salad include fresh mango cubes, slaw, slices of avocado, fresh peanut bits, tomato and soba noodles. It's not a bad salad, but for the price, I do not think it is worth it. 7. There were multiple items I wanted to try but I usually stick to an appetizer, main, dessert, and beverage. I am not a big eater at one sitting. Between us, everything we ordered was superb. The descriptions were pretty familiar, but the tastes were elevated. And the presentations were unique too -- see my photos. Michael, our server, was efficient but warm and friendly too. That makes such a difference. From beginning to end he took care of us, checking occasionally to get our enthusiastic thumbs-up, and then bringing us sturdy containers and a roomy thick shopping bag to take home the leftovers. We stuffed ourselves but still took home half of the generous portions we were given. The tab was beyond reasonable too, especially for Beverly Hills! Nice music -- not too loud, just enough to give a cheerful vibe in the background; clean appointments; quality furnishings; giant spotless windows; pretty wallcoverings; comfortable seating -- everything was just right, Goldilocks-worthy.
