Excellent! I got the "New York", which is Pastrami, Cole Slaw, and Russian dressing on Rye, with some potato salad. I can't say enough good about this!! Great pastrami, great rye, and the potato salad was on point for sure (not something you can say very often). I'll be back!!

Conveniently located near UCLA, came here for early dinner with my baby Bruin. This place is a foodies paradise. Breakfast options are served all day, which is perfect for me because who likes the flexibility of ordering a lox bagel anytime the craving hits. Also a lot of delicious options for pastries, pies, and treats. I love that this place gives you a pickle plate. My favorite were the pickle chips. I could eat those all day. I ordered a matzo ball soup with chicken and bagel chips. Definitely amazing and the perfect dinner that leaves your belly warm on a cold winter day. The service here is excellent, prices are reasonable, portions are big, plenty of seating options, and parking is nearby at the parking garage. Highly recommend the coffee cake. Definitely hits the spot paired with coffee. I also ordered sliced rye bread to go. I definitely recommend ordered 1/2 a loaf unless you have a big family or a gathered then order the whole loaf. Also recommend putting it in the fridge if you need it to last longer. Overall, this place is amazing and I look forward to my next visit!

Had Saturday lunch with my UCLA-student son. What a fun spot! We were seated quickly, though it was busy. We have been checking off old-school Jewish-style delis around the greater LA area, so Nate'n Al's was a natural choice. Normally, I get a pastrami sandwich, but my wife wanted to share a sandwich and you guessed it--turkey. Don't get me wrong, it was a good turkey sandwich, but not a pastrami sandwich. My son ordered the pastrami, and it was excellent. I shared the matzo ball soup with my wife, which was very good. The pickle platter on the table was a nice touch, and the shoestring fries on the side were a winner. I thought the service was quite good, especially for such a busy place. Next time, I am going straight for the pastrami. Love Nate'n Al's. 5 stars.

The deli is always great. It's expensive but what deli isn't... The service was great and this food was equally fantastic.

Iconic classic deli. The staff is friendly, the kind that somehow knows your order before you even open the menu. Pastrami on rye? Always solid. Matzo ball soup with bagel chips? Mandatory. The outside patio is perfect for people watching, and their bagels, lox, whitefish, and all the deli goodies are fresh and ready for breakfast, whether you're solo or with friends.

You can never go wrong with an old school deli that serves the classics with a smile. When you walk in, the dining room decor immediately transports you to another time...the pristine wood paneling and vinyl upholstery are a throwback to when menus weren't fussy and the food was fabulous. We shared potato latkes and chicken pot pie pockets and our server, Daniel, immediately advised us that the pot pie pockets would "take a little longer. Is that okay??" You'd better believe it was okay, because those babies were flaming hot and tasted amazing. The potato latkes were perfectly crisp on the outside and so, so good. Great food is definitely worth waiting for! 10/10 definitely recommend!

Our food was delicious! We had (of course!) matzoh ball soup, chicken noodle soup, chopped liver sandwich, roast beef sandwich, chicken pot pie and Nova salmon on bagel with the works .. followed by rugelah, chocolate cream pie, banana cream pie and the black/white cookie. SOOO delicious. We were seated pretty quickly on a packed Christmas Day and our meals came in a very timely manner. Our server was Deborah... very nice and professional. Even though she was at the end of her shift on a VERY busy day she maintained her cool and total service to our table. Very clean with a dedicated staff. We had a worthy experience which is deserving of a 5 star review.

Great spot for lunch! It has a fun nostalgic vibe and a menu full of deli classics. Love their latkes, soups, and whitefish salad. Easy to get in and out too.

Came here to get a corned beef sandwich for St. Patrick's Day after an appointment at Cedar's. I got the recommended corned beef sandwich with double rye bread , side coleslaw.. but not sure if I was supposed to put my own dressing for it, the meat was definitely very good. But I needed some sauce for it to be a perfect sandwich. Loved the coleslaw! I'll give it a chance next time if I do get a recommendation to what to put in my sandwich along with the corned beef.

This place totally hit the spot! I stopped by spur of the moment and was so happy I did. First of all, those delicious, crispy pickles.. I need all a bucket of them! They bring you a plate before your meal so you will get to sample. I was craving Tuna so I got a classic Tuna on toasted sourdough. It was perfectly yummy. The side of coleslaw was excellent as well. Service was quick and friendly. I wish I lived closer because this would be on the rotation. The deli case looked nice and stocked with goodies.

The tradition deli in the hart of Rodeo Drive. You can find a good place to eat and not pay a fortune. The food is the delicious and comfort meal, nice service, and ambience is the family place , you can see the customers know each other. My family from Arkansas enjoyed it. After, you can visit The Brainwashed museum.

I enjoyed one more happy hour and one more early dinner before they closed for good…read more During the HH, I had the truffle french fries and the pepperoni pizza. Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. Thankfully, the order was put in a little earlier and I was able to enjoy the Penne alla Vodka. I was on the fence about the 20-Layer Cake but I ended up caving in, getting it to go for later. Unlike the first time I got this, they now had a perfect, custom box for the slice to fit whereas before they had to cut the cake in half to fit it into the box they had at the time. I know the New York location has delivery/to-go only, but there is still the Las Vegas one. Sad to see this place close down, as the location seems to be a curse for so many places (Hamburger Hamlet, Rivabella, Roku, now Lavo...).

During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making…read morerestaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.
