My wife had looked at reviews elsewhere beforehand, which were overwhelmingly favorable and why we gave this place a go. Bad reviews on YELP? Those did not define our experience. We ate here on August 28, 2026 for the first time. We will return and probably many times. That was our experience. Really shocked at some of the harsh reviews here and I have to question what motivated those. Anyway..... Not BYOB. It has a lively bar scene. Asking the wait staff about it we are informed many regulars will always choose to eat in the barroom. We dined at a nice table on the main floor of what appears to be a converted residence of two floors. We felt it was a very lovely setting with very attentive staff and ample parking in their dedicated lot to the side and rear. We started with the caviar tasting and a half bottle of one of their several NV French champagnes. These were expertly presented. A constructive criticism would be to add more than the crème fraiche and petite pancakes as accoutrements. However, this small tasting was otherwise a really pleasant opening. For appetizers my wife chose the wild shrimp, which were excellent and I went with the corn chowder, which was likewise top notch. For the main my wife chose the burger with fries and I chose two additional appetizers, the short rib tortellini and the crab cake. All of these impressed when paired with a half bottle of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The tortellini were the standout of these and wished a full order was offered as a main and not just available as a small appetizer. I'll add the bread offerings with room temperature butter were a pleasing start. However, being sated after the aforementioned courses we skipped desserts. Seriously, cannot fathom the few very negative reviews and suggest those be dismissed to allow you to try the place for yourself. All in, this was a $400 tab, but over half of that were the two half bottles and the caviar. It's actually a very reasonably priced restaurant, given the service, setting, and fare.

From the moment we stepped inside, the inviting, meticulously designed decor set a high bar for the evening. We were quickly seated and paired with Olivia, a standout server whose genuine warmth and personable approach immediately made us feel at home. We started with the Tuna Tartare, a beautifully presented appetizer where the vibrant, fresh ingredients harmonized perfectly on the plate. For the main course, the kitchen continued to impress. The NJ Corn Ravioli was flat-out incredible--delicate, rich, and expertly executed. My Glazed Prime Short Rib was equally impressive, showing all the hallmarks of a great dish with deeply integrated, comforting flavors. The sides were a bit more pedestrian; while the wild mushrooms and truffle fries were perfectly fine, they lacked the memorable punch of the main courses and felt slightly underwhelming by comparison. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the timing of our visit. Arriving just before the peak dinner rush offered a glimpse into a highly disciplined back-of-house operation. Watching the team meticulously inspect glassware, adjust table alignments, and prep the bar revealed a staff that takes immense pride in the details. Agricola delivers a genuinely polished dining experience from start to finish, and we will absolutely be returning.

He was very helpful as we perused menu and he answered any questions we had. We decided to give it a go. The ambiance was lovely and our server Olivia was great. As a vegetarian I don't really have interesting options. I saw the NJ corn ravioli on the menu and had to try it. I loved it. It was different, tasted great and wasn't heavy. I'm one of those people who do not like an over abundance of food in front of me. This was a perfect portion. My meat eating boyfriend got the yellowfin tuna tartare appetizer and said it was good. He also got the glazed short rib which was so tender no knife needed. Nothing was left on his plate. All and all it was a great meal and we both really liked the place. It is part of the same group as Roots Steakhouse.

Service was slow on that regard with water and checking. Seafood is good, though- the salmon crudo was ok (blood orange highlight), the oysters broiled with miso-garlic - virtually no miso flavor. The seared octopus, though, a great dish with highlights on the beans offsetting the rich flavor of the octopus and sausage crumbs. Dinner was tilefish, excellent balance (although some bites were very salty). Apple crostada at dessert was a good version of a warm apple turnover with an open center served with ice cream which I enjoyed. Fun gold playing cards where they have your food for pickup after the meal - staffer there had a good attitude! Beat the server who was more lackluster.

Wooden booths with thickly paneled walls scream late 70's-80's which is another reason why I love it. I wouldn't put their steaks in the same category as a Capital Grill or Morton's but at literally 1/2 the price they're a solid choice. Their lambchops, on the other hand, were spectacular; some of the best I've ever had. And the free salad was a really nice touch that has all but disappeared with the exception of diners. Bar is massive, wooden with a friendly team of well-seasoned bar tenders. All together a solid, and someone surprising choice that anyone is sure to enjoy.

We came to Fin Raw Bar & Kitchen for what we hoped would be a special, romantic date night. While…read morethe seafood was fresh and nicely presented, the overall experience fell short for us -- especially considering the price point. For a BYOB, our bill came to just under $160 for two entrées, one appetizer, and a dozen oysters. The oysters were $42/dozen, my scallop crab corn salsa special was $47, and the swordfish was $39 -- all of which felt more like fine dining NYC prices than suburban BYOB rates. What really impacted our night, though, was how rushed we felt. From start to finish, our dinner lasted just about an hour. Plates were cleared quickly, the next course arrived almost immediately, and it didn't feel like there was room to linger or enjoy a slower-paced evening together. This was surprising because the restaurant wasn't even full. We left feeling like we had paid for a premium, leisurely dining experience but instead got an expensive, hurried meal. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver the atmosphere or value we were hoping for.

Both were cooked very well. Probably one of the best branzinos I've had. Drinks were great. The show was very entertaining and Michelle had a great voice and offered many interesting facts about Carole King throughout. My advice it to arrive at least 40 minutes before the show so you can finish/nearly finish your meal and enjoy the show and then have dessert after, which is what we did. It is nice to have something local like this to do for a change of pace.

I doubt we will ever experience a bummer. We've had the lunch menu once, which has a lobster bisque that's not on the dinner menu for some reason, but is certainly deserving. If you have lunch don't miss it. We stopped in for a light dinner on Sunday night September 13, 2026. My wife ordered two of the sushi rolls having one as a starter and the other as her main. These were the BLU's Roll and the GREATEST CATCH Roll. This was the third time having their rolls and they've always been generous, expertly prepared, and most importantly delicious. A third of the second one even made it home. I tried the Basque Shrimp to start. It's a dozen smaller shrimp that were among the best I'd ever tasted, tender and succulent. For someone who favors jumbo shrimp, these were eye opening. It's served in a fairly spicy tomato sauce. It packed a punch. You'll need to periodically wet your pallet, but if you enjoy a spicy dish, this is a must. It is accompanied by 4 slices of filone, which you'll need to soak up all the sauce. It is a spectacular bread and maybe why bread is not served to start. This dish may be the best deal on the menu. For my main I tried the Wagyu Fried Rice. This is another hot one. Again, if you enjoy your food on the spicy side, you owe this a try. We skipped the cocktails, but ordered two glasses of wine. All the spirits are pricey, maybe even more so than the food, but at least you get a solid pour with the wines. These were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Mountain Cuvée Cab. For the most part the service is very good. It's at least fitting. Also, they do not upcharge for credit card use. That's class. All in the tab still blew past $200, but we've spent twice that here on other occasions.
