    Salmon entree

Fun place located in the heart of Madison Nj we dropped in to meet with friends. Be prepared , Bottle Hill is busy with lots of families and young kids. That said the servers and hosts kept things running smoothly and our service was excellent My wife had the salmon entree which was cooked to her liking and i had the power bowl salad with blackened chicken. Bottle hill is a fun place offering good portiond and quality food in a fun enviroment. Next visit i"d like to try the outside dining

    Grilled Chicken Wrap (cheesesteak wrap)

You know this place has to be good when it's packed on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant has two areas in a wrap-around set up. The parking is strictly street parking which can be challenging during busier times. We were able to find a spot right in front of the restaurant. When the place is packed, it is very loud in the dining room. My four year-old daughter said it was too loud for her but she managed. The waiter was very good. He checked in on us regularly and gave us everything we needed, including refills of drinks. I ordered the French onion soup. The cheese had the same texture as Gruyère but definitely didn't taste like it. The broth was a bit spicier than typical. I wouldn't order this again. I also ordered a grilled chicken wrap with sautéed onions and cheese. It came with pickle slices and that was it. The wrap was awesome! I love the variety of wraps you can order (spinach, whole wheat, regular, etc.). It couldn't have been cooked better! Overall, it was a good experience. We would definitely try this place again.

Came in here for lunch one Saturday at around 11:30. Not too many people so we were able to get a table quickly. This is a very clean bar/restaurant. And semi-small , so likely not great for big groups. Service was a excellent. The staff was very attentive and quick with service refilling our drinks and taking/getting us our orders quickly. The food was good but not great. We started with the French onion soup. It was good but much saltier than I am used to. Then we got the shrimp po boy and the open faced roast beef. The shrimp po boy Had good flavor but was a little bare. It had about 7 to 8 shrimp with a great sauce, some tomato and a piece of lettus. There were 3 slices of pickels on the side and we ordered the waffle fries separately. I wish the po boy had some more shrimp pieces to make it a heartier sandwich. With this ratio it was mostly bread. As for the waffle fries, they were very bare - truely just potatoes. No seasoning or anything. The open roast beef was a very interesting dish. Roast beef on a piece of toast - apparently its very old school. It's a very odd dish, I'm glad I tried it but I probably wouldn't order it again.

Somewhat busy on a Saturday a bit before noon. Cozy interior with a couple of TVs on showing College Football games and seemed like a nice place to gather with some friends to watch a game that's not rowdy. Service was great! They were attentive and fairly quick to refill glasses with water or ask for soda refills. Now the food was just average. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. French onion soup: It was ok. More peppery than the typical french onion soups I've had and a bit too salty for my taste. But there was a generous heaping of gruyere melted on top which I was happy with. We're all here for the cheese, right? Shrimp Po' Boy: Shrimps were small but fried well, just wish there were more to fill the sandwich out more; it felt like the sandwich was 80% bread. The remoulade on the sandwich was really good and helped an otherwise very simple sandwich (only other things on it were lettuce and tomatoes). Waffle fries: This did not come with what we ordered and had to be added separately. It needed salt, pretty bare bones otherwise. Open Hot Roast Beef: Hot roast beef with gravy on a piece of toast. Not a typical dish I would order but it seemed interesting. Didn't like the beef that was on it and the flavor profile overall just felt like it was missing something.

First time here, and everything was perfect. We had called ahead to make a reservation for a party of seven on a Wednesday at 1 PM. The staff were very supportive and attentive. Everything we had here was delicious. The deviled eggs have jalapeño premixed in them, but you really can't taste it. I was curious to try their chopped steak. It's very similar to a Salisbury steak, but it is really just a loaf of delicious hamburger meat. The thin onion rings were also very delicious. The staff went above and beyond our expectations by putting our birthday cake in the freezer, adding/lighting a candle, and slicing it for us, along with extra plates and forks, without any surcharge, like other restaurants attempt to do. Overall GREAT place!

Nice spot for a lunch or dinner in Madison - always full of people so I'd hear on a weekend evening be prepared to wait a bit. Lots of good sandwich options and the waffle fries are pretty good. Summertime and fall the outside seating is popular! Else inside is nice/fine although gets quite noisy at times!

Troy took good care of me at the bar. The highlight of the meal. The popcorn shrimp you think its gonna be 20-25 small count shrimp like popcorn. Its not. Over battered and seasoned and fried too long. The remoulade was scratch made and good. The Power salad with grilled chicken was good but portion size for $20 was lacking. The blackened salmon left a lot to be desired. The blackened seasoning was ao salty; made the fish not edible. The side okra was also so heavily battered and overcooked it wasn't edible. Prolly won't be back for food but maybe during happy hour with my partner.

this is my favorite restaurant ever. i live an hour away from here and every time i have to come up here i always come here and get the exact same thing- a chicken parm wrap. i love the vibe here and the homey feeling. service is so good and the food is cheap for being incredibly tasty. highly recommend.

Chicken cheesesteak & Waffle fries (not as good as chick fila...a little too crunchy)

Go here for a beer. Came here for a work dinner event and while they make everything "homemade" I was still hungry when I left and somewhat disappointed. Ordered the chicken cheesesteak wrap and it was basic... just chicken...the cheese was barely melted and it could have used some extra peppers as you could barely taste them. The pickles were delish. They had an extensive beer menu.

Really good lunch, efficient service. The Shrimp Po' Boy was crunchy and delicious, very fresh shrimp. We loved the Deviled Eggs too, good flavors. Definitely will return.

I absolutely loved this place! We had to wait about 10minutes for a seat at a table so we headed to the bar for a drink. We were promptly served and the bartender was very friendly. When we got to our table our server, Nicholas greeted us and since we already had drinks he gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and the busboy set out water for us. We ordered an appetizer of potato skins which were huge. It was like eating 2 baked potatoes cut in halves. I forgot to snap a pic of them. For my meal I ordered the crab cake sandwich with a small house salad. The rest of the gang ordered the turkey dinner, Greek salad with salmon, and a cheeseburger with a salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My crab cake was very good, not filled with breading and not too fried. I have to add that while I was eating my salad I was trying to cut my cucumber and ended up wearing my salad and dumping the dressing cup on the floor splattering the guy next to us all over his leg and shoe. He was not upset thank goodness and the staff was very quick to help clean the floor and gave the guy napkins and wet naps to help with the cleanup. I was so embarrassed but it turned out ok. Nicholas gave me more dressing and some club soda to try and clean up my dress. Besides Nicholas being helpful I have to say that the entire staff was very efficient as well. They were always there cleaning off unused dishes from tables and refilling drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable and the food is great. We will definitely be coming back.

I visited for dinner on a Thursday evening for 6 people. We were seated right away. This was my 2nd time dining in (first time indoors). Our waiter was great and attentive. I ordered the boneless buffalo wings. They were basically chicken fingers with sauce but they were tasty! I also had a side of steak fries which you can never go wrong with. The traditional margarita tasted mostly like lime juice to be honest. I tried my friend's cucumber margarita and it was good! Not sure if I'd order it again though. I will definitely be returning here. I can't speak too good about the drinks but their food is great!!

    Brownie sundae. Perfect ending. Yummm

I could not view reviews of dishes, so had to step outside to take a peak. Cannot justify paying such prices for dinning in a tiny, dark space in half-basement in the middle of NJ. Just can't. The portions are generous, which is good. But the prices are still outrageous for the location and vibe. It is BYOB for alcohol. We walked in on Sunday at 6pm without reservations and by 7pm, the small space filled up. The $12 hummus was bad. Store bought hummus of the cheapest brand tastes better. Seriously don't understand how a hummus can taste so bland and meh. No seasoning? The pita that came with it was low quality--it gave my friend an allergic reaction right away [he has sensitivity towards poor quality flour products]. $44 paidakia--lamb chops--had 4 chops that were tender and delicate. Pasnip pure was bland and totally a miss--did nothing to complement anything on the plate. Barely any demi lace sauce--definitely on the dry side. Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.

For apps, we decided on the: Hummus - how do you properly judge a Mediterranean restaurant without trying their hummus, and this was creamy, decadent and served with some fresh pita. For my entree, I got the pan-seared scallops with cauliflower puree, quinoa, spinach, heirloom tomato. Loved it. Cooked perfectly, loooved the silky puree...just a solid solid dish. All in all, EVOO definitely deserves to be on the Millburn/Essex shortlist when looking for nicer places to dine out. Can't wait to get back and try some more of their menu!

For a BYOB, our bill came to just under $160 for two entrées, one appetizer, and a dozen oysters. The oysters were $42/dozen, my scallop crab corn salsa special was $47, and the swordfish was $39 -- all of which felt more like fine dining NYC prices than suburban BYOB rates. What really impacted our night, though, was how rushed we felt. From start to finish, our dinner lasted just about an hour. Plates were cleared quickly, the next course arrived almost immediately, and it didn't feel like there was room to linger or enjoy a slower-paced evening together. This was surprising because the restaurant wasn't even full. We left feeling like we had paid for a premium, leisurely dining experience but instead got an expensive, hurried meal.
