Chastain plumbing is my go to plumbing contractor for all things plumbing, period. I restore 1920's buildings and use period fixtures that are fully restored and re-installed for maximum function. No matter whether it's a modern tankless water heater, (Josh has installed at least 10 for me in the past 10 years) or a 100 year old claw foot tub, they can do it. And they will do it better than anyone else for a fair price. They are clean, reliable and best of all, nice and competent. I cannot compliment Josh and Chastain plumbing enough. I've had two jobs done by Chastain Plumbing now, and I'm thrilled to officially have a go-to plumber in my contacts. The first job was an irrigation line in the backyard. The previous plumber had made some odd choices (going from a 1/2" line to a 3/4" to a 1" so our pressure wasn't strong enough to irrigate the lawn.) Josh came out and replaced the line, and our pressure is amazing now. No problems watering the back lawn at all. The second job was MUCH MORE STRESSFUL for us - the house drainage got backed up, and it ended up being a problem with the main sewer line which is really not what you want to hear as a homeowner​. That being said, I called Chastain Plumbing again, and Hugo came out with a team and a camera and they were able to identify the problem and replace the line, including cutting into the street asphalt. We had JUST had our driveway redone with pavers, and Hugo figured out a way to address the plumbing issue without tearing out the driveway, for which I will be forever grateful. They also added an access hatch so if we ever have trouble with the sewer line again, there's a better way to clean it out. All in all, an excellent company. I put in an inquiry and Hugo got back to me right away. I needed an emergency repair for some leaking water pipes, and I needed someone the same night. We didn't end up using Hugo but he still followed up with us the next day to make sure we were taken care of. Would definitely recommend him based on reliability and great customer service. It was late on a Friday afternoon (of course) when I clogged my disposal drain with beet peels. I spotted Chastain Plumbing listed on Yelp. I phoned and got an immediate response from Hugo, and appt for the next day... Saturday morning. His guy Misa was prompt, and did a great job of not only unclogging my disposal trap, but of remounting the garbage disposal that was a poor install by a BAD handyman. I had showed Misa the mystery bolt I found under the sink while clearing it out, and he checked and discovered the other two bolts were gone. He needed to go out for a mounting kit, so the job took longer than anticipated. BUT, pricing was VERY fair, and communication throughout the process was good. I was given a starting estimate, and then a revised estimate, and that's what was charged. Misa was professional, friendly and super tidy -- throughout a relatively messy project (beet peels!) I am happy to have a good, and reliable plumber in my contacts now, and will not hesitate to use Hugo again, as well as refer him to my neighbors. read more

Hugo at Chastain is very professional. I was looking to buy a house and Chastain did an inspection for me and was very thorough. He was able to quickly identify several problems with the house and his assumptions were right on the mark. After further inspection, we discovered the house had many more mold issues. Look! Plumbing issues are way stressful. When it's more than just a clogged toilet or leaky faucet, it can be numbing. We had a foundation leak and found Hugo via Yelp. Stroke of luck! He came by and performed a thorough inspection. He, then, detailed our options. Given the location of the leak and the age of our pipes (almost 30 years), we went with a whole house re-piping. His crew were absolute professionals! They worked expediently and efficiently. More importantly, they were painstakingly detailed in their work. It has now been a year into the work being done and we are still happy! If you are getting estimates, do yourself a favor and include them. You won't be disappointed. read more

Josh has done so much work on my house over the last few years and I continue to refer him to several clients and friends. He came out the week of Christmas last year when we were worried that we might have a possible gas leak, he spent time checking all of the connections on the gas line to ensure we were safe - there was no gas leak, but we kept smelling what we thought was gas. He came back and tested the line for pressure and confirmed that it wasn't the supply line. Turns out the plumbing to our washer and dryer was done incorrectly years ago and we were smelling sewer gas. Josh had to redo all the supply (water and gas due to previous plumber using incorrect parts). He brought along an assistant because it was such a big job and they had to climb up into the attic and run lines down the walls. They did great work and we always think of Josh first when we need a plumber! read more
