Quality of food was good the steak just lacks a bit of flavor, I'd probably try this place again if I was shopping at the mall.

The custard divine and it had that small town homey feel. Around here Culver's is a different experience. When Rifle got one I was super excited and we made the trek frequently. I was honestly pretty impressed with their offerings and quality. When the Culver's opened in Grand junction I had such high hopes. Unfortunately the food is almost always disappointing. It has the "I've been waiting for you for hours" type taste. So I thought, ok fine, at least we can still get the custard. But again I have been disappointed. The "freezer" frequently does not have many flavors to make a party pack. When you order the flavor of the day, like I did today, "turtle dove" I got so excited by the picture on the sign and website. But what I brought home was vanilla custard with some "turtle dove toppings". A couple bites with flavor beyond vanilla and that was it. See photo. As for the staff. It does sometimes take them a while, but I have never had any crabby staff. Everyone has been very friendly. They are clearly trying hard. I'm guessing this is a management or training issue. I really hope they can get this figured out because they have the ingredients to be awesome... if they could just figure out how to do it!

Owners are Shervin and Maria. Sounds like they have family in several parts of the U.S., including California and the South, and also have strong roots in Grand Junction. And thankfully for the locals, because this has got to be some of the best Southern fried chicken and catfish in the state. I love that this is a family owned spot run out of a food truck that roves. They may be downtown or out near the Tractor Supply off of Highway 6 and 50, or at regional festivals and other events. Be sure to give them a call before you head over -- and you can place your order by phone as well. Which is a great idea. This food is fresh and can take 15-20 minutes before it is ready. My favorite is the catfish. Massive serving with a light, well-seasoned batter and served hot and very fresh. I could not believe you can get two large fillets and sides at only $21 -- pre-tip. That is an amazingly affordable price. I recommend fries (also a huge serving) and also the mac, which is both cheesy and a bit sweet. And check the menu for supply. They also have chicken, sandwiches, (very flavorful) wings and tenders, mash potatoes, sweet potato pie, greens, etc. Shervin and Maria, and one of their sons (who was helping out during one of my visits), seem like a lovely family who care deeply about Grand Junction and the food scene. They are very much local, while also open and welcoming to visitors. I look forward to seeing them again.
