(06/21/2026 @ 1030) Another wonderful meal at Denny's (Clifton, CO). Right in the middle of the Father's Day rush, tied with the Catholics, but beat the Baptists. ;) Seated right by the kitchen. For me/us, perfect to smell the aroma of fresh-off-the-grill cooking, and smiles from waitstaff coming and going. One in particular, our waitress (can you still say that?), Ashley, who had the smile of every thankful mother in a family-oriented TV series doing her best and being even better! Coffee service was super, by the time I called it quits, I felt like a coffee blivet (See Army Aviation). The food (custom omelet for Mrs. W, and country fried steak, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes for me), was warm and fresh. Tried Mrs. W's omelet. Fantastic! A lot of restaurants tend to overcook omelets until they're rubbery. This omelet was light and fluffy! Kudos to the folks working over a hot grill/oven/stove! Denny's is a mainstay for us. It's close, the food is consistently great. Only once has the service been marginal, but management was notified, and took appropriate corrective action. read more

Although there were 3 servers (that I could see) only 1 of them was actually working. It took 23 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. Some of which were cold from sitting. But it took a total of 41 minutes for the rest of our food to make it to our table. By this time, we're too upset to even eat and enjoy the food, we ate a few bites, paid, and left. read more

I've been to multiple Denny's locations. This specific location has awful customer service. You have to seek out an employee to get help. There is one girl that's there consistently and seems inconvenienced every time you ask for anything, she is very rude. I was given no jam for my muffin, I had asked for jam, extra butter, extra syrup, and to go cutlery; she said "the syrup is already in there and we don't have to go cutlery". She came back with only jam and I asked for syrup and butter. She rolled her eyes and gave me one syrup. Didn't feel like repeating myself a third time for the butter so I left. The food that wasn't in a sealed box was dry, the sausage was only about an inch-Inch and a half, for $4.19 that's a total ripoff. The food in the sealed box was soggy. Went in for breakfast before a road trip. The food was ok, but value? Forget it. We were served a couple of empty plates and two coffees, $3 each. Potatoes, onions and pancakes?! I don't normally leave bad reviews, but after having almost five abysmal visits to this exact Denny's, I can solidly rate the lowest score. The food: The food is not an experience resembling the best quality. My burger this last visit has soggy onions in it. The Wendy's next door makes better burgers. Is it worth the price? I would say absolutely not. The service: The service here has consistently been at a snail's pace. We waited at least an hour for our food (table of five), and it's been like that almost every time we've visited. Doesn't matter the time of day or what you order. Expect to wait. Apologies for the wait time get old when you have to wait an hour every time to enter this Denny's. The ambiance: Because of the above reasons, this establishment tends to draw the older crowd. The crowd that literally has nothing better to do than to wait over an hour for their food, and also isn't going to say anything about the quality of said food either. Needless to say, the decor, and the people sitting around it couldn't be more opposite. My conclusion is as follows; if you find yourself entering this Denny's, hold the door for the seniors leaving, and leave with them. Go literally anywhere else. Thursday at 7:00 pm. Not what I would call busy, but I'm from out of town. Waited a half hour for food for two people. I heard two phrases twice each at various tables around us. "A big order came up right before yours but yours is next." And "They left off the garlic bread but it will be right up." And to top it off, there was a hair in my hash browns. read more

They let in every other person that showed up before us, totaling up to almost double the amount of people we had. He asked about the order since he had been waiting a while. She was brusque and told him to be patient and wait. I told her she could wait on him and she said no they were getting his order, but they weren't, since no one had helped him. I usually like this place and actually take my daughter and her family here every Christmas eve. Today; however, was a different story. I am pretty sure the entire staff today was out on work release from the Mesa county Jail, and most of the customers escaped from Community Corrections. I had to wait for quite some time for my toast, which I use early in my meal. My steak was quite tough, though it was cooked correctly. I was truly disgusted by the time I got out of there. I will be looking for another place for Christmas Eve dinner this year. read more

Do NOT go to this place on a weekend. It took more than 5 minutes to get seated, getting our drinks, and our order taken went smoothly, but when they brought the salads out, they only brought two things of silverware. It took about an hour to get all of our food in general. The steak was overcooked but looked like it was rubber. It was too salty and wasn't eaten. The hashbrowns were dead cold and had no flavor to them. And the chicken fried steak tasted like plastic. It was undercooked and had the worst flavor. The mac and cheese was only cheese and 4 noodles. The grandslamwich had undercooked sausage, and I got food poisoning from the food. The place had no customers and had the worst vibe to any dennys I've been to. The only thing good about this place was the first waiter we got, but he didn't stick around. Having been to this location a couple months ago we experienced the worst service possible. Our waitress had to be sent home because she had a breakdown. Tonight, we decided to try the restaurant again and lucky us, we got the same waitress. There were other people at three tables. After taking our order and serving our drinks, we waited 30 minutes for our food. During this time our waitress hung out by the serving window talking to the cook, not once coming to refill our drinks. I finally had to ask another server to tell her we needed refills. When our food came, one was a Grand Slam ordered with over easy eggs and toast. The eggs were yolks overdone like scrambled! We had to remind her of the toast. And lastly, the two pieces of bacon were small and pitiful. When we finished eating we sat and sat waiting for to- go boxes and our bill and our server was totally unaware that we were done and we had to yell to get her attention to bring these things. Living in the area, my fiancee and I were excited to see a new chain restaurant. This location sprung up over the weekend it seemed like. Our first impression (on a Tuesday night at 7:00p) when we walked in was that of a hotel. Very new and clean, a feel of a typical diner, but newer. Our food we ordered was good, but all of it did not come out at the same time, in addition to the long wait. I ordered the cheesy chicken fried steak and my fiancee ordered a make your own combination. I had to ask for my toast and she had to ask for her fruit cup. These items arrived as we finished our meal. Slow service. As we were sitting and talking, we were forced to listened to another server chat and talk to the table next to us for a good 15 minutes. A conversation we really did not want to hear. "I'm stuck in the back section, I've only made $15 in tips, bla bla bla and on and on and on." All the meanwhile, my empty Diet Coke is sitting on the end of the table ready for a refill. I know this location is new, I know that Denny's just hired servers and are still in the training mode along with the kitchen. So I am giving them a lot of credit and the additional star in hopes service gets better. I'm not sure we plan to come back anyway. I think we just wanted to see what the new restaurant looked like. I can only speak to breakfast, but this is a well-managed and well-run, busy Denny's, as best as I can tell. I've been here for breakfast maybe six times. They are professional, friendly and everybody is working as a team. I appreciate seeing them busy, as I know the high food turnaround ensures freshness, and the busy restaurant suggests quality. My eggs are always cooked perfectly, and it's difficult to beat Denny's breakfast for value. HOLY COW!!! Went in for our normal Sunday breakfast. More than half of the tables were empty which is normal. Only one party ahead of us and the host takes our name. Several parties the start coming in of equal size or smaller. After 15 minutes host announces servers need a 5 minute pause on seating, again no one has been sat in the last 15 so what's another 5. Finally the host start calling names but those that come in after us parties of 2 , 3 then a party of six. So i stand up and ask wtf but politely and she says Oh I thought the other host sat you. She then sat us right away. Takes the normal 25 minutes waiting time to order food. Here's the kicker, we got our food 1 hour and 40 minutes later but that's not the worst part. Tables that were sat 30 minutes to an hour after us had ordered, eaten and left. My wife I started looking around and noticed that if the people at the table were in the ages of 20 - 40 you had to wait but those table that appeared 75+ in age were receiving their food the quickest. We also noticed that the only Hispanic table was waiting the longest. My kids are sad because going to Denny's on Sundays has become a tradition that was just killed by the Horrible hosting staff and management. So, it's my husband's birthday and he decided he wanted to go to Denny's. We get seated and I excuse myself to go to the restroom. I sneak away to find the hostess and tell her "it's my husband's birthday and I want to surprise him with cake. Do you guys have any candles?" She says "I'll look". I go back to the table feeling mission has been accomplished and he has no idea what I just did. Five minutes later she comes to our table and very loudly says "no ma'am, we don't have any candles". . This evening my extended family picked this Denny's to have dinner after my young niece's school concert. We arrived at about 10 to 6, party of 9 (3 adults, 3 teenage Boys and 3 11-7 yr olds) we were sat in a u shaped booth crammed in like sardine. We made it work cause we just wanted to send time together and have dinner. Waiteress was quick to take drink orders and very friendly. She brought our drinks back quickly and took our order with in the First 5 minutes we were seated. As we looked around there were about 4 other tables, none of which were as big of a party as ours. 4 guest per tops. It took 49 minutes for our food to START coming out. First the kids 2 pieces of chicken strips, one with their side, one without. Few minutes later came a Jr Slam. Few minutes later came 5 of the 6 other meals. The 6th meal final came out about 5 minutes later and still had NO FRIES! As we were getting up, trying to get the waitress attention so we could get our bill, here she comes with a small bowl of fries. We told her we did not want them and we were ready for our check. She did apologize and we do not blame her. We blame Management! I work in the industry and know the struggles of staffing. However, to leave your employees to scramble and apologize for lack of leadership, is uncalled for. We will not return to this restaurant anytime soon. We feel for your employees. We waited at the front to pay for more then 5 minutes so we could pay for our poor service. I felt like walking out but I have more integrity then anyone managing this restaurant does. And who came to take care of us, our waitress. She was clearly overwhelmed and felt unsupported. Please value you guests and employees more. I am just disgusted with the food services-now days. We were traveling and of course when traveling most of us look for some kind of food chain or some familiar food joint. We pulled up early in the morning to Denny's for breakfast only to be grossed out by the manager negligence. With all the sickness going around like the flu, stomach viruses, etc. the only food handling should be behind the line on the kitchen side. Front line should in no way have anything to do with making and buttering the toast nonetheless handling fresh fruit that goes on the top of food being served to children and adults. Why is the frontline handling that and putting customers in at risk of serious illnesses and for some death due to these sicknesses. I watched as our food was completed from the back line to passed to the front of the house where the "MANAGER" who is supposed to set the expectations and be the leader of the establishment. The manager grabbed dirty dishes from customer tables who have had meals, filled customers coffee grabbing the mugs, then returning to handle fresh foods with no gloves nevertheless that he has contaminated his hands and not washing them. We sat there watching all this as they brought our food to our table as we were disgusted. Why should we be subjected to this risk of service from Denny's a chain establishment that should know about food handling safety. After waiting almost an hour and getting our food we stood up and said shame on you for putting such risks on these poor customers not knowing what goes on before receiving there food. read more
