We stopped here on our way to Gateway for lunch. Not only was food good, the owner - Arvin just was a treat!! He was funny and spoke with us for quite awhile. After lunch, he presented us with the most incredible cinnamon roll...it was unreal. We went on our way only to return at the end of the week as we were headed home. We wanted to stop back bcuz we enjoyed the food & service so much. Sharon was our waitress, she was buried but kept a sweet smile & kindness and actually called Arvin back to help...he remembered us and was thrilled we returned. He definitely knows how to make his patrons feel welcome! Don't miss this place if you are going through Fruita, CO

Breakfast was delicious and especially the huge housemade cinnamon rolls! Service was fast and very friendly. Trent was our server and very nice man as well as friendly and courteous. Definitely recommend!

Two eggs with hash plus biscuits and gravy for $8.50!?!? Smoking deal
    Drew R.

The biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and hash for only $8.50 is a amazing deal! Was so hungry I didn't take a before photo but here is proof that they were great! Such a big portion I couldn't finish. Awesome little diner. If you are traveling from Las Vegas to denver like I am, this is the place for gas and food! Gas is currently $3.99 (85grade) which is the cheapest I've seen. Vegas is now 5.05 in some places.

Once we're seated, we waited 10 mins for someone to take our drink order (a soda and a beer), 10 mins to get our drinks, then she couldn't take our food order, waited 10 mins to order our food... and we were the only table in the joint. LITERALLY. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye medium rare and it came well done (maybe med well? See pic) and a quarter inch thick... 10oz size questionable. Also notice how all of my sides were eaten but the steak is still on the plate... yeah she didn't check to see how our food was until we flagged her down like sailors in distress. The waitress informed me that they cut all their ribeyes that thin and if I got another ribeye, it would be 1/4 inch thick also, so I didn't order another. My friend's filet was blue rare (raw but seared on edges) but ordered medium rare and the waitress didn't offer to cook it more but instead blamed it on having a new cook. Took Kirsten 10 mins to get me a menu. When Kirsten finally found the time to come by our table to have me order a replacement, my friend finished her dinner already. I got the cowboy chili with cornbread. The chili was lukewarm if I am being generous- they could've just microwaved it like wtf how do you serve lukewarm/room temp chili if you have a microwave??? The cornbread was dry and crumbled into a million pieces. The service was the worst and least attentive I've had in maybe ten years probably my entire life. It was almost like we were in a comedy skit except it wasn't funny. I will never ever ever go back. Texas Roadhouse is way better which is just sad. I did notice an employee eating a big beautiful steak while she closed out her shift, I asked what cut and she said a ribeye. So I guess they cut the 1-1.5 inch thick cuts for employee steaks and customers get ribeyes a 1/4 inch thin cooked into shoe leather. Pro tip: go to Strayhorn. Rumor is cattleman's doesn't even use local beef anymore, they just cosplay ranch life so you get to eat a low quality steak with the comforting smell of cow poo.

The location is excellent in a shopping mall on the south side of I70. The interior decor is up to date and welcoming, but still has the fun signs Rib City's are known for. We were greeted and seated promptly by the server. The server was personable and welcoming as she took our drink orders and explained the lunch specials. There are many specials on the menu, but there are also specials on the table sign and the chalkboard sign as you enter. We always get the fried okra, and it was cooked perfectly as always. They are also serving fried pickles now. We each ordered the lunch special of a Pulled Pork Skyscrapers with 2 sides for $12.99. I got the green beans and fries, and my husband got the mac and cheese and baked beans. The pulled pork was delicious as always mixed with the NC vinegar based sauce and a side of coleslaw that goes on the sandwich. All sides were also good. Service was top notch the entire time. Special notes: whatever the seasonal cheesecake is GET IT! It is homemade and amazing. We got a slice to go, and it was enormous! The flavor this time was blueberry. So, so delicious! They also have a happy hour special on drinks and 1/2 off apps from 2-6 on weekdays. We will be back to this location frequently!

That being said, I am always happy with the quality of the food and portion size given the value and price. The ribs are my go to. It's a chill laidback restaurant with a countryish down home vibe. The service is always friendly and smiling. They have some good specials too. I think the only thing lacking is the type of sides or maybe the quantity of options for sides.

We started with the Zuccini Fritti, a simple but tasty appetizer. Then tried the Louisiana Gumbo and NY strip. The gumbo was spicy and tasty, even my husband liked it and he is not a fan of spicy. A great way to end a meal. For beverages, we decided to be adventurous and tried the Savauge wine, specifically Devils Prey. As somewhat of a wine conisuer, I was impressed with this Colorado wine - it's not your traditional CO wine. Smooth and tasty. This will definitely be our go to dinner place. Excited to try breakfast and lunch too. We recommend giving this place a try. While some of the reviews are concerned about prices and service - not our experience at all! However, the inside was gorgeous with tall windows and nice decor. You walk into the Maverick hotel and go the 4th floor to get there. 3 out of the 4 of us in our group ordered the Shakshuka, which was flavorful and delicious to soak the sourdough into. I recommend over easy or over medium for your eggs on this. Served with feta and sliced avocado on top. We also got the avocado toast with smoked salmon and were pleasantly surprised to see that it came with entire filet of salmon for only an extra $6. We were expecting a few slices of salmon, but this was great! The fresh toast was ordered for the table. I found it to be a 7/10. Loved the peach inside, but was underwhelmed overall. If you're a group of 4 maybe consider getting the fresh press coffee, which our server recommended we do. Perfect serving size for us, but if your group drinks a lot of coffee just get the drip. The last time I ordered it there were half the bananas that there used to be. There were 2 cherry halves. Bananas cost 69 cents. This is ridiculous and not likely to save money. This was my husband's favorite. This new chef is not local and apparently needs some education regarding local expectations. We were a little taken aback simply because we dressed as 'business casual' and the waitstaff were dressed to the 9's. But we noticed that almost everyone else there was dressed casually, so we relaxed (i.e. they seem to have a relaxed dress code). Our waiter was prompt taking our drink order (and the water was filled immediately). He explained the special (some sort of fish which both my wife and I thought sounded wonderful) and then let us take our time looking over the menu. When he came back, I asked him about the sautéed mushroom appetizer. He described it and we immediately ordered it. It came out piping hot, and I must say - my wife and I both were 'fighting' for each bite - it was AMAZING. The sourdough bread is fantastic (and was great to use to mop up the rest of the melted butter from the sauteed mushrooms). I ordered the bacon wrapped, blue cheese encrusted filet with the house mashed potatoes and my wife ordered the ribeye steak with the potatoes au gratin. Mine selection was pretty awesome. The kitchen burned the bacon, but the steak was done perfectly and with the blue cheese encrustment and the sauce that came with it, I just pushed the bacon to the side (note - if I had pointed this out, I have no doubt that the staff would have refired the entire plate - so that's on me). However, my wife's selection blew mine completely away. Her steak was done perfectly (medium-rare) and the au gratin potatoes were absolutely to die for (I may have stolen quite a bit from her plate). We have our favorite place in Loveland, Co (4th street chop house) and Colorado Springs, Co (Peppertree restaurant), and we've now added the Winery to that short list. Sadly, it's a little further than the other two, but when we come back to Grand Junction/Palisade, this is one place that won't be skipped! We definitely recommend this place.
