We have used Quality Meat for years and have never once had anything that didn't taste delicious. Not only is the owner and staff extremely friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to provide you with the highest quality of meat and offer great suggestions on how to cook items. Their beef butter is by far our favorite item to purchase along with their coulottes. We recently moved to South Carolina and happened to be back in Grand Junction for the weekend and we came back into Quality Meat and had them stock us up with 9 containers of the beef butter to take back to SC. We have not been able to find anything to compare in our new location. Phil and his son Hunter packed a container with ice for us and had it taped and ready to go. I went in here today and was very impressed. I'm fairly new to the area. We typically bought pasture raised meat where we were... so went searching for this place! Meat selection and knowledge of the folks running the shop was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. I only tried the salmon today for my dinner but couple of other things are marinading..will update on the meat later.. I'm also not sure what this one reviewer below is taking about.. all meats are already packaged and nothing is sitting out, no flies and super clean facility.. may be he/she meant to review a different place. read more

Quality Meat is an excellent butcher shop. Excellent quality and verity of meats. I shop here often finding that the excellent variety of meats more than off sets the local super markets prices. Further if they don't have it they can get it. The staff knows meats and is always willing to help. Looking at the other reviews I see where someone had an issue with rude staff and "flys all over the meat". This simply isn't true. This is not a traditional butcher shop. You'll not find the traditional butcher case with raw meats on display. All meats are vacuum packed and then in glass enclosed refrigerators or frozen in glass enclosed freezers. The is zero raw meets exposed to flies, none. It's a huge plus that the meats are vacuum packed, take a vacuum packed steak home, throw it in the freeze, take it out a year later, thaw and it still tasted great. No freezer burn. Excellent service, clean, friendly and quality meats. read more

WOW. Steak will never be the same for me again. I was in here with my boyfriend trying to find a nice piece of meat for the "man side" of a baby shower, that was happening at my house. After perusing through all of their offerings (duck, venison, beef, pork, etc), the man behind the counter came out to offer us a bit of wisdom. He showed me the Culotte Roast, and said that most of their business comes from regulars who buy this once, then come back for it every time. He also gave us a great tip of sticking a tooth pic either with or against the grain so that you know where it is after you've 'browned out' the lines (for cutting purposes). He also recommended their special seasoning to marinate it with. A little under $20 later, we went back to the house to cover it with sea salt (to help tenderize, and give it a flavorful outer shell) and let it sit for about 2 hours. We then washed and dried it off, applied their special seasoning, then popped it on the grill when the men arrived. I told them to save me at least a bite when I got back from the counter part party. Words can hardly explain how amazing that first bite was. They had saved me a whole steak, which I promptly ate in record time. I will now be added onto the list of regulars that come back for only that. THIS IS A MUST TRY!!! Seriously, you want to impress your friends, a date, or a loved one? This steak will sway even the gnarliest of enemies. As to the rest of the store: They have an amazing selection of any kind of specialty seasoning you could want, they have a large variety of cuts of meat, and they even have dog bones! read more

I have now spoken to the owner twice about mask wearing. The first time he came in from the back maskless and put it on when I told him he couldn't help me without a mask. The 2nd time was today when he was wearing his mask so low on his face I could see his top lips and his mouth. I told him he needed to wear his mask properly and he pulled it up. He had it down the entire time we were in there until we were leaving. Not sure I'll go back. read more

I just bought a smoker and went into quality meats for the first time recently. They were incredibly friendly and the younger gentleman was able to give me several pointers for smoking and different types of meats to try. Yes Jake you are full of it. This place is awesome. I have been getting my Christmas Prime Rib from these people for over twenty years and every year they have always been good. I also buy my employees steaks from here for Christmas and they love them. The owners have always been nice to me and I have never even seen a fly in their shop. Great place for meats for smoking. can't find decent beef ribs (apparently the good ones go to Texas) but the ones they do have are meatier and more flavorful than the ones i get from safeway/albertsons. Great dog bones with lots of marrow also. Will smoke a tri tip tomorrow which they promise will be the bomb. The employees i met were all knowledgeable, pleasant and proud to help and educate. I was looking for another shop but found this place, so glad I did, the steaks that Phil recommended were amazing, he actually undersold me on them as I was looking at the filets. They cooked up perfect, so much so my 6-8 year old girls were literally begging for more. Could not have had a better experience with service and product. read more
