Consistently good food and service. Saturday around 5pm, decided to stop in for apps and a drink. Sat in a booth in the bar area to watch an NFL playoff game. Served by Kylie, who obviously knew what she was doing as do all the staff at Charleston's. We shared Spinach Artichoke dip ($13) which came out quickly. The ONLY thing we'd change about the Charleston's menu is the tortilla chips. While they are in-house made, they're too thick and are kinda all gnarled up so they're not easy to use with the dip. Maybe we can bring our own bag of Tostitos next time. She also got a cup of the Baked Potato soup ($7) and I got a bowl of Chili ($8). I have to say it's some of my favorite chili, especially on a cold day. Very meaty and hearty with onions and cheese. She had a Honig Sauvignon Blanc ($11) and I had my usual Dead Armadillo Amber ($6.50). Great service as always and as we cleaned off a bowl or plate, staff walking by would pre-buss the table making sure it was cleared. Waters were kept full. This is a well-run establishment. PS. I would add the tab you get offers a "Quick Guide" for 15,18 and 20% tips. However they are all figured on the menu items PLUS the taxes. I don't usually pay tips on taxes. In times like these I do over tip. Today I gave a 34% tip because it was great service and I appreciate the fact that every employee including all those in the kitchen were wearing masks. read more

Charleston's is definitely one of the better chains in town. I had received a free appetizer coupon from the taste of Brookside and met up with a girlfriend there to use it. Our waiter was very attentive and kept her in a supply of fresh martinis and me and wine. The dip was good. Nothing unique about it but it was good. We sat in the bar area and chatted for several hours without feeling like it was too loud for us in there. My favorite thing about Charleston's is by far the baked potato soup. I write this review with heavy heart. On mothers day (yesterday) my granddaughter was taking myself and my sister to Charlestons for a treat. She called them at 7:40 pm to see if they were very busy. They told her the wait was one hour. She asked to be put on the list and they said for her to go on yelp and put it there. She went on yelp and they did not have a place to put a name so she said she was going to run up to the restaurant to put us on the list. (We live one block away). When she came back she said I went in and gave my name and the number of guests (3). They said come this way to seat her. She said I just called and someone said the wait was one hour. When our third party arrived we went to Charlestons and were seated. I ordered the prime medium rare and it came totally rare and bloody and not even warm. I asked if I could get it cooked some more. The meat had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. She brought it back immediately and gave it to me. I cannot imagine they put it on the fire at all. I said nothing I ate my caesar salad which was great and my potato. We knew the reason they lied about the hour wait is they waited to leave asap. They were hurried and asked us to order any pie because the kitchen was closing down. I think it will be quite a while before I go to Charlestons. First time ever it happened! ILOVE their prime rib...I went for my 28th anniversary on Feb 4th,2023 and ordered the larger cut. There were three of us who ordered prime rib on my recommendation. All three came out over cooked by one level--I order med-rare and it was med (maybe med-well) the other two ordered medium and they were med-well. The waitress didnt apologize or offer to get the manager--but she was a really great lady! I was really saddened by the food this night. This is a regular stop for my family; we love this place for its consistency! You know you will get friendly service and quality food every time. It's a great place for date night with great ambience, but not pretentious, so comfy for the whole family. The menu is not large, but that's how I like it. Focus on smaller amount of items and perfect them is a recipe for success in my book. My favorite appetizer is the queso and chips..I crave this stuff! Just try it, you won't regret it. My husband's favorite is the burgers and they are tasty and juicy, but my favorite dish is the chicken piccata. I switch the pasta for their yummy garlic mashed potatoes. Ordered takeout for a fun night in with my wife, who just had our first baby. I ordered the prime rib, salad, two sides, and dessert and was told it would be ready for curbside pickup in 15-20 minutes. It took about 45 minutes total to get my food (total wait time inside of about 25 minutes), and when I got home, I noticed that the wrong salad dressing was provided, they forgot the baked potato that comes with the prime rib, and they did not include any horseradish (!!). The last one really struck a nerve, because that's a must-have for any good prime rib. Very sorely disappointed in this visit. read more

We had an amazing experience.. The wait staff is by far the most attentive staff I have ever seen... Drinks always full, tables cleared off quickly! It was amazing. We had the queso for an app and it was so hot and cheesy! I ordered the ribeye special and the steak was tender and cooked to perfection! The peppers, onions and mushrooms were a great topping. This place has its ups and downs especially with management and staff It doesn't seem like they can ever keep a manager long enough for restaurant stability but I get it because it's just apart of the industry the high turn over is inevitable. However that should not disregard that fact that the staff should deliver great service and the manager as well. That was not the experience we had at all and this is not the first time. This is very disappointing. I would expect this from a fast-food restaurant (you kind of get what you pay for) but I can honestly say that we are treated better at Chick Fil A than we were here at Charleston's. I would say the quality of the food has gone down as well as the service for a restaurant that considers themselves "fine dinning" this was disheartening. We ordered several items so I guess the fact that we ordered a flat-bread pizza they basically prepared all the other food items and sat them under "the heating lamp" (which by the way only keeps food warm for so long before it becomes not hot just lukewarm and uneatable) they waited until the pizza was done which obviously took longer that the other food before they brought anything to the table. Upon them delivering the food I sent one of the dinners back because it was cold, the soup was cold the mashed potatoes were cold the entire table of food was COLD but the pizza was smoking hot! It literally took them approximately 20 additional minutes to prepare a fresh plate of catfish/fries and deliver it to the table upon delivery the manager sat the "HOT PLATE" of food directly in front of my 9 month old son while informing us the plate was "extremely hot" and then walked off. After I witnessed our rude waiter and the managers having a private conversation I got up from the table and went over there to let the other manager know what happened. He later came to the table and said a bunch of nonsense then offered to only accommodate one dinner. Which was fine! The entire experience was horrible and the staff that day was rude and unprofessional. The other location I feel is a better experience! read more

Charleston's is great if you're looking for a low-key date night. I really like the ambiance and intimate feel the place has. As for food, it's not the best (especially for the price), but it's not bad at all. This last time I had fried catfish with burgundy mushrooms and cole slaw. I would recommend getting the mushrooms which were doused in a burgundy/brown gravy type sauce combined with sautéed onions. The catfish came with two large filets that definitely filled me up. Overall, I like Charleston's, but do think it's pretty pricey for the type of food they serve. I do want to add that another plus for them would have to be their waitstaff who are all very friendly and on the ball. read more

Tonight we went to Charlston's for a company dinner. And prior to reading this it's important to know that I'm one of the most understanding people there is. I NEVER post a negative review. This experience was utterly repulsive and revolting. To start the night out a party of six was placed at a table that might comfortably seat four. At this point we were understanding and realized that this close to the holiday season we should have called in our reservation. After our drinks were ordered I was elbowed in the head, I'm not talking about a very light tap on the wisdom cube I'm talking about a Mark McGuire home run to my brain box. This then prompted the "manager" to refund our drinks for the rest of the night and even then I was very understanding and insisted that it was not necessary that he do so. Shortly after two of my co-workers were provided with the wrong drinks. STILL no big deal it was busy we understood. Here's the kicker, I look up from my hamburger to see our boss holding what seems to be a magnum jimmy on her fork (covered in ranch to add to the irony). She had ordered a salad at no point do I recall her requesting for a disposable glove to be provided with the meal. I am not kidding she got half through her salad to find out that there was a disposable latex glove in her salad. When we spoke to two separate managers about this encounter they offered to refund her meal and ONLY her meal after throwing a fuss they also included another of our co-workers meals. This was a 200 dollar ticket in which nearly the entire thing was paid for despite this fundamentally disrespectful and unsanitary treatment. If you or your loved ones should decide to eat at Charleston's please wear a helmet and ensure that you check every bite for latex. read more

I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. Literally. I have never had any problems from what I can remember. But tonight, all of that changed. I came in to eat where the hostess attempted to sit me next to 2 very large parties & I was in a party of 1. Asked to be sat somewhere by myself and less than 10 minutes later they sat some one right behind me. I can literally feel when he moves in his seat directly behind me. The restaurant is fairly empty and I'm by the bar so it's really empty. I sat down, one waitress came and asked for my drink order. A runner brought the drink and quickly ran off. I needed a straw for my drink and proceeded to wait exactly 14 minutes for a waiter to come to my table so that I can ask for one. Because of this I asked for my drink to be refreshed. I'm pretty sure they brought the same one back to the table. When she came (a totally new waitress that the previous 2) I placed my order in fear of having to wait another 15 minutes. I asked for chicken fried CHICKEN. And a salad to come out before my meal. She went away and came back saying that she put the orders in together because the salads take "forever" never heard of that from this place. My salad came out & 5 minutes later so did my meal. My meal by the way was chicken fried steak. The waitress was neat but completely unaware of her surroundings so I had to stop the hostess that was walking by to have her get the waitress. I asked for my correct meal to come out and was brought out the exact, I do mean exact, plate. This time just with the right meat. How do I know? I put pepper on my Mac and cheese which automatically comes without. When the plate was brought out, it was the same mac I had placed pepper on. And the same mashed potatoes I had tasted before. I'm astonished. Mind you, the entire time I was looking to gain the attention of a waitress, playing hide and seek, there were 2 including the night manager, behind the bar laughing and talking with one another. Update: I talked with the manager. She proceeded to tell me that she personally threw my plate away. I said I noticed how the pepper was still on my macaroni and cheese. She said that the sides may be the same and left on the plate. I explained to her that I've worked in the restaurant business for years and that I know for a fact that you do not keep food that was sent back. No matter if it's going to be remade for the same person. She then tells me that they don't keep the same food (although she JUST said that it was???). My husband and I had dinner here tonight. I ordered pork chops which came with mashed potatoes and carrots. My husband ordered the prime rib which was supposed to come with a salad and baked potato. Imagine our surprise when our main dishes arrived but no salad. It appeared that our server forgot to bring it. The server offered to bring it at that time but my husband declined and the server said she would adjust our bill. My food was good and so was my husband's. However, we were surprised when we got the bill which had no adjustment and an overcharge for the wine my husband ordered. Ms. Madison was our server and she was marvelous! Love her! She brought everything on time, always smiled and kept our drinks full. Our food was top notch. Ms. Madison even suggested the Bread Pudding with Grand Marnier Sauce for dessert - folks it was out of this world!!! We would definitely go back again. Restrooms were very nice and clean. Dining near bar and kitchen was a little loud for us - we like a little more intimate and were seating in the back corner which was perfect and we were never forgotten and never had to wait even a second for anything. Went with a large group and ordered the catfish dinner and my wife ordered the shrimp scampi. Food was excellent and wait staff was in and out frequently. The only negative was the signature margheritas which were in a 6 oz glass and halve full of ice with maybe a shot of tequila for $11. Sad part is my wife ordered two and I had only one but when ticket came I had been charged for four. Having no previous knowledge of Charleston's: We were traveling from Joplin, MO through to Tulsa, OK and looked up a "family" restaurant to get our party of 4 adults and 4 children out of a mini van for some dinner. When we all walked inside, the mother of the 4 children immediately turned to the other adults with despair. We all expected a "family" oriented atmosphere, instead we had entered a very nice low lit "date night" atmosphere. Where you go to escape children, not dine next to four ages 1, 3, 5, and 7. Nonetheless, we were received happily and seated quickly. Our server had just had a horrific experience with a family that we passed in the parking lot. The evidence was all over the table they left behind the bus person was still cleaning up. We apologized for possibly giving her a back to back challenge since we had been driving for a few hours the kids were hungry and had not been to a "date night" restaurant before. Our server accepted our challenge, she was personable to all the kids, attentive to our orders and drink refills, and helped us adults relax and enjoy ourselves. The kids behaved wonderfully. It helps when a server addresses/acknowledges them, they won't look for unwanted ways to get attention. All our entrees were delicious. Get the mashed potatoes with everything! The pork chop meal is served with 2 huge pork chops perfectly seasoned and cooked. Burgers were "Steakhouse"worthy. Highly recommend a date night or a family "special" night destination. There was no wait on a Thursday night about 7:30 so we were seated right away. Our server Molly was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the queso which has their own spin and is very good. Our entrees were the dynamite shrimp salad and prime rib. The portions were large. The prime rib was probably 12-16 oz and about 1-1-2 in thick. Cooked to perfection. Side salad was also very good. The dynamite salad had a lot of shrimp and the salad was a unique blend that included sprouts, green beans, carrots etc. it was very good and not terrible the next day for lunch. We were surprised at the bill. It was lower than we'd thought. So I'd say good value for a great meal. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Kale and quinoa salad with chicken for most but not me, smoked trout and veggies, and the marvelous delicious...drum roll please house made carrot cake!! OMG! When I say this Hong was amazing I ain't playing! It's a sheet cake that's iced and iced then heated up so it's slightly warm and the cream geese is oozing I hated a piece and we were practically fighting over it. Thank you, thank you for adding the impossible burger to your menu. I made it vegan by asking for no cheese and no mayo. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. The quality of the lettuce was disappointing, however. It was more white than green. The tomato, onion and picked were great. To make the vegetable medley vegan I asked for no butter. Charleston's is a great place for a first date there was a lot of couple dinning in. They are a little pricy but the food is absolutely worth it. The staff were all kind and polite. They have candles lit on every table that sets a nice mood in the entire restaurant. It's definitely worth a try can't wait to be back! read more
