OMG! This is by far the best BBQ we've had in the state of Maryland. The brisket is to die for....absolutely ahhhh-mazing! The pulled pork wasn't dry and was just as delicious as the brisket. As first time visitors to Char'd's we were given a taste test of their pastrami tacos which were soooooo good, if it's not a menu option, it definitely should be. The mac & cheese was DELISH and it had little pieces of brisket in it. The potato salad tasted just like my moms which was, of course, also delicious. We have traveled throughout the state trying different BBQ places and this place didn't disappoint. We traveled an hour one way to try this place and I'm so glad we did. Don't bother! Went at 1:30 (they open at 11) and they were already out of brisket! Okay, made another choice of smoked brats and paid for our order. Then while prepping our order told us they were out of smoked brats! We ended up with pit beet and smoked turkey. Both things you can easily get elsewhere. read more

Brisket just the right amount of char, but a little dry. Everything was better with sauce and on a bun. Tried four sauces. The tiger had a bit too much horse radish and a little bitter. The original was good, sweet and spicy average. Favorite was the apple, if you like a sweet bbq sauce. Baked beans were different then expected, but good. Mac and cheese has brisket added (Adding meat is always a good idea), but made it a bit salty. Corn bread was sweet and moist. Char'd is such a treasured local spot. The owners are so sweet & make each customer feel like family. Their location is beautiful and allows for a perfect (COVID friendly!) afternoon outside with family and friends. If you have time, definitely try to grab a beer from Monument as well. Love going to this place. They are always friendly and have great bbq. The three meats and one side is a very good deal. We usually split it and end up having left overs still for the next day! This is arguably the best BBQ in Baltimore, and well worth the drive to Upperco in northern Baltimore County. It's a very pleasant drive up Route 30 North towards Hampstead. On the right-side, just after the famous Sportsmans Hall Rolling Skating rink. The Beef Brisket is the best barbecue item on their menu. Don't get me wrong, EVERYTHING on the menu is very very good, but the Beef Brisket is Richard's (the owner) especially-delicious meat. He cooks everything on-site and you can see him just enjoying what he's doing and so glad that you came be to his little painted-red establishment. They're not open year-round, only open during the Spring and Summer, but that's when you can really enjoy BBQ anyway. The staff are always patient and helpful and if you ask for a free sample, you can try a slice of a barbecued meat that you were curious about. Believe me, you will not make a bad choice on anything on the menu. The prices are reasonable for the superior quality of the BBQ you are getting, and they have a wide variety of sauces also--my personal favorite is the "Char'd" sauce. WOW!! Just got done my first experience at Char'd. Every single thing I had was fantastic. The food, desert and service was outstanding. I had the brisket and sausage with sides of Mac and cheese and beans. The flavor on the brisket was some of the best I've had and the sausage had the perfect amount of smoke ring to it. The little piece of corn bread I had left me wanting more. I did the two meat combo and it was enough to feed a small army, . Best pulled pork around and the brisket is my ABSOLUTE favorite...they (Rich) have perfected the "bark" on the brisket. Corn bread/Mac n cheese both rock too. my wife picked up 2 pitbeef sandwiches on saturday around 3ish. when she got home 330ish we sat down to enjoy the sandwiches. i'm 68 & throughtout the years have had my fair share of pitbeef. & i'll say, that all places are not worth going back to. where as for the most part they are & the past sandwiches were tender & juicy & most of all flavorful. sorry but not the case with char'd. our sandwiches from char'd were dry & a bit chewy & bland. no taste, it was like just chewing an over cooked, well done piece of meat, no flavor what so ever. i could only see why they offer the sauce & that was to give the meat some sort of flavor. my wife only ate 1/2 of her sandwich. i learned along time ago that good, well prepared steak & or pitbeef does not need sauce, you want to taste the beef that is tender & flavorful & also a little, not very much but just a tad of char on one edge of the cooked beef. not trying to promote another pitbeef stand, so i'll omit the name but, the other in hampstead to me has a better product but is a little on the pricey side but good taste & have gone back a few times. i'm sorry that this reveiw doesn't follow the others, it is what it is. i certainly hope that it helps with your business & products. thank you. read more
