    This ain't bbq sauce

I never do this but the chicken I just got was an insult to bbq And chicken. This bird didn't get anywhere near smoke. It didn't see any flames either. So not bbq, and not grilled. Oven roasted, day old, and microwaved (or way over cooked). When it got to me the skin was parboiled soggy and smothered some kind of watery excuse for bbq sauce (see pic). The sauce is like ketchup and honey mixed with water, almost like the Pilgrims made it (not that they had ketcup, but you get the idea). No body or soul and definitely no respect for bbq. Fries were decent, thus the one star. Not sure where these peeps learned bbq'ing, but it wasn't anywhere proper. MD may have sided with the North but were below the Mason-Dixon line. Owners--call yourself a pit beef joint that sells chicken and ribs but don't call your place a bbq joint. Awful.

    Wimpy wings

PLEASE NOTE THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE CHICKEN WINGS. I still highly recommend the Pit Beef with 5 Stars! Got the wings for my wife and they had very little flavor and majorly undercooked, I got my usual 2 large pit beef sandwich's and they were great! 2 weeks later I begged her to go again and told them to "please make them crispy because last time they were not cooked enough ", he said no problem. I got my usual 2 large pit beef sandwiches and as usual it was great! Got home and exact same thing with the chicken wings-no flavor and even more undercooked! I tried to find an email but couldn't so I'm hoping this reaches the owner. One last thing in regards to the wings, they advertise "Jumbo Wings" and as can be seen in my video they are average size at best. They should be jumbo wings especially since we're paying 6/$9!

Pit Beef and St Louis Rib sandwich (April 2023)
    Carroll N.

April 2023 My hubby loves the pit beef sandwich here. I went here years ago and thought it was all right. His buddy came up to visit so we went here for lunch on a Sunday. I decided to try something other than the pit beef and got the St. Louis Ribs sandwich. It came with three bone in so could have been messy, but I was able to use a knife and fork to pull it apart. Unfortunately, the ribs didn't impress me much. Sauce was average and the meat wasn't as tender as I typically like. My hubby's friend liked his Turkey sandwich. Hubby and I ordered a regular side of fries to share. That is probably my favorite item that I have eaten here. There are a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant and more spaces in the back. There are also two picnic tables in the back. Most patrons appear to get carryout. They offer a 10% discount for veterans and first responders, which is cool.

Meh, I've definitely experienced better. + friendly service + mozzarella sticks + tiger sauce - pit beef was dry as hell - sides were kinda weak - order / pick up area is confusing - no seating, grab and go Overall, I much prefer Chaps, Bullhead, Expressway, etc.

The beef tips were delicious! I was sad they didn't have wings when we ordered since they said there was a wing shortage. We also had the brisket and the pulled pork. Everything was very delicious. They charged me twice by accident on my credit card but I called and it was quickly rectified.

I placed a pickup order with Mission BBQ; however, the experience I encountered when I arrived to…read morecollect my food was deeply disturbing and, in my opinion, undeniably rooted in racism. When I approached the pickup counter, there were approximately four or five customers ahead of me. I waited patiently for my turn. During that time, I observed a tall, husky gentleman with a blond receding hairline interacting with customers. He was warm, engaging, considerate, and approachable with everyone he assisted. Standing beside him was a younger employee, approximately 19 years old, with brunette hair hanging down to his eyebrows. As the line became shorter and there was only one person ahead of me, the younger employee repeatedly stared at me. At first, I attempted to be polite and welcoming -- I smiled at him and subtly gestured in case he was ready to assist me. However, it quickly became clear that the look he was giving me was not an ordinary glance. It was a look that communicated, "You do not belong here. Why are you here?" -- a look many Black people unfortunately recognize all too well when confronted with prejudice and hostility. The moment I acknowledged him, he rolled his eyes and walked away. I then waited for the taller employee to assist me instead. Yet the second I approached the counter, his demeanor completely changed. The friendliness, patience, and professionalism he had shown everyone else disappeared. His tone became dismissive, irritated, and impatient. After receiving my food, I was then met with another unfriendly expression from a customer whose face reflected visible disgust that I was even there. I do not care what color someone's skin is, what hairstyle they wear, what religion they practice, or what they choose to wear on their head. This is 2026 -- not 1930. Your company publicly prides itself on supporting first responders, firefighters, police officers, and medical personnel. Those individuals come from every race, culture, religion, and background imaginable. If an Arabic EMT wearing a hijab had walked into your establishment that evening, would your staff have treated them with the same level of discomfort and disgust? After tonight, I honestly believe the answer would be yes. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have visited this location before during daytime hours -- typically between 1 PM and 4 PM -- and have always experienced pleasant service from both staff and customers alike. Until tonight, I had never felt unwelcome at this establishment. No customer should ever be made to feel inferior, unwanted, or judged simply because of the color of their skin. What makes this even more upsetting is what Mission BBQ says it stands for. Your company proudly promotes "Proudly Serving Those Who Serve," honoring military members, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and first responders. Those heroes come from every race, religion, culture, and background. America today is diverse, and the people serving and protecting this country reflect that diversity every single day. That is why the treatment I experienced tonight felt so wrong and hypocritical. The looks, the attitude, and the dismissive behavior I received made me feel unwelcome simply for being Black. That goes completely against the values your establishment claims to represent. Respect, patriotism, and service to others should apply to everyone -- not only the people your staff are comfortable with.

Though the food was good, service great and restaurant and restrooms very clean, I felt the portion size was really small for the amount I paid. A two meat platter, both the pulled pork and moist brisket were really good, but both portions were super small. The green beans with bacon were good and a reasonable size and the cornbread, albeit very tiny, was very good. I half wonder if the portions would have been larger if I got single meat platters instead of the two meat but I don't know for sure. The hot BBQ sauce was kickin' and the sweet tea super delicious. I'll definitely be back because I have this dinner group monthly and I probably will try a single meat platter the next time I come back to see if the portion size is larger. Otherwise everything was good and very enjoyable. I enjoy the food at Mission BBQ!

A delicious bowl of steam eggs came with the meal, wish they would at least offer two bowls for a party of 6 and surprisingly no rice came with the combo. We had to add an extra order of steak and seafood pancake since no one was really full with the combo. I would say this place is for those who have high expectations of fresh & premium meats. You will not be stuff or over indulged because it can be quite pricey. Our bill with tips & taxes was about $55 per person. It's a bit pricey for lunch and I wasn't even full. If you never been to this restaurant before, I recommend that you try it out at least once but I don't think we will be back here anytime soon.
