Everything, from the atmosphere to the food was absolutely amazing. All employees take pride in working here it seems, which tells me the management is on point. I'm not much of a sweets person, but I couldn't resist trying one of their pastries as they all looked irresistible. The eyes did not deceive when it came to trying their cinnamon roll, hand crafted to perfection. I decided to try their special of the day, The Prime Rib Benedict with a dirty chai tea latte. Atmosphere: There was a long line where you stand at first. You stand in line to order food and then get seated. It moves fairly quickly which is nice. While you wait there are fresh baked goodies surround the register area. I liked that you can see the bakers behind the counter baking the goodies. The place itself is decorated in a farmhouse, Magnolia home style. It's got little touches of lighting, signage and the layout itself is really unique which I enjoyed! Food: they have a good selection of sweet and savory options. Tons of pastries. I got the classic breakfast and others got the pumpkin French toast, chicken fried steak and the skillet. Everyone enjoyed there food! No complaints on flavor or taste - all good. The hash browns were particularly delicious - crispy, thick cut and tasty. The reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because my husband's meal didn't come out with the rest of the group. We had to remind the waiter twice after that about his meal. Service was whack. stood in line waiting for our order to be taken while the person at the counter acted like we weren't there. We asked for our water to be refilled after several waiters-waitresses walked by and it took over 10 minutes before I had to ask again. Food was terrible. Can not even describe how bad the eggs were on my omelet. We also got hard boiled eggs for our salmon benedict and the hash browns were drowning in oil. We also noticed many people had left with full plates still just like we did. The food LOOKED good but did not meet the standard of even eating. Know that your entire party does have to be present before you're seated. Their pastries all look amazing and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I got drip coffee and the Blueberry Muffin French Toast with eggs instead of bacon. The name is exactly what you get, a thick slice of French toast that's the texture of a muffin! People seem to only remember it for weekend brunch, but the food any time of the day is outstanding (and the crowds really dissipate for dinner on the weekdays, which can be really nice). The kitchen is small but works hard. Depending on when you go, that may mean that they are out of certain options. Still, this means everything is made in small batches in a fresh manner, which is great! I'm usually more of a savory breakfast person, but man alive am I a sucker for their baked oatmeal (with blueberries). The owners of Chaps clearly have an abundance of unearned pride in their establishment. The wait time is egregious and done via a queue that stretches around the restaurant. When you finally get your food it comes out both over and under done. Pale tasteless hash browns are adorned by bacon straight from the crematorium. And their blueberry French toast is more akin to a subpar coffee cake, greasy and without structural integrity. This was a negative experience from start to finish and I frankly don't know how they stay so busy. read more

There was once on Mothers Day in the height of COVID that this place opened for just oatmeal and coffee pickups and people showed up en masse to the point where there was a line of cars wrapped around the parking lot and out to the highway. Delicious breakfast and coffee in a quiant cottage in the woods. Loved the speedy ordering line and then being seated. Lots of spacious seating with views of the green forest trees. My chicken fried steak had a good fry to it as it was crispy and not soggy which was appreciated. The pastry I ordered was delicious. It had blueberries on top of lemon curd inside a danish. New owner still using the same system of order and pay at the counter, you are assigned a table number which you will look for in a large restaurant. One cashier, and 22 people waiting in line (I counted). After a 20 minute wait in line, someone is already sitting at my assigned seat. No big deal. Food arrives almost warm, same recipes as previous owners used but less food by about 15%. Prices are higher by approximately 2 to 4 dollars per dish. Would not have minded getting less and paying more too much if it had been served hot, and not have waited in that line. They could use an extra cashier, and just do away with having someone bringing the food, they provide little to no service, just call a number we'll pick it up, bring it to any table hot, plus I wouldn't feel obligated to leave a tip for basically no service. It's a cliche but unfortunately when a restaurant changes ownership it gets worse not better. read more

This is hands down the place in Spokane. They have the best outdoor patio in the entire city. The inside is also very adorable. My husband and I are coffee addicts and he said this was the best place he has ever had a mocha! I took a sip and I wish I had ordered one myself. He even went back inside to let the barista know that this is the best mocha he has ever had and this man has gone to several countries and sampled some of the best coffees the earth has to offer. The food was exquisite. I could die happy if their chicken and waffles were the last meal I was served ever. IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD. The chicken was cooked to a golden crispy perfection. The waffle was so fluffy I thought I was biting into a cloud of scrumptious goodness. The syrup was a nice topper to bring everything together. They even had a poached egg on top and I do not think I have ever had a poached egg cooked so nice - there was no runny white gross stuff on it. Just delicious, perfectly set yolk. WOW. Just wow. You need this in your life if you have never had it. My husband had the French toast and that was so filling. I like it more of a dessert. His dish came with bacon and this bacon was crispy and exactly how every bacon needs to be cooked. Their potatoes are also very well seasoned and cooked so well you don't even need ketchup. The servers are also extremely nice and offered great service. Very kind and very quick. Entire establishment is well kept and clean. I LOVE everything about the look and feel of this restaurant! There is indoor and outdoor seating available - the decor is ON POINT every where you look. Breakfast Croissant Sandwich ($9.50): The sandwich also comes with a side of yogurt with blueberries. Pretty basic croissant sandwich but I did love the thick slices of fatty bacon - mm whats not to love about that =P The ONLY reason why I took out half a star was because of the caramel apple bread pudding. I absolutely love bread pudding so I had to get it when I saw it.
