I ordered the Canele and the Apple Pull Apart. The Canele was burnt. Canele is my favorite French pastry. It should have a soft tender center and a thick caramelized crust. This is one of the most difficult pastries to make - to get that outer crust just right. This one missed it. All I tasted was burnt crust. The Apple pull apart was awful. It was so hard and had so much sugar I couldn't even taste the apple. Rock hard. I spent $12, and was really disappointed to pay money for something I could not eat. I did enjoy the shortbread cookie but was a little bit shocked at the $3 sticker price for a very small cookie. The biscuits looked good so I do want to go back and try those. Baking is not an easy skill. It takes much training and practice. I am not here to criticize, just to provide feedback so hopefully the pastry chef can improve.
